All the camp spots are decent size and surrounded by the lake. Usually when you camp near water the bugs can be terrible but this camp ground was surprisingly low on pests. Since it rained, we were able to have a camp fire which made the trip even better. There’s a breakfast diner super close by that was delicious food but only open on the weekends.

Camping is great at Finnon Lake, I was there mid week so it was nice and peaceful. The water was warm, so fun with my little boat.

Beautiful campsites. The restroom was clean and fully stocked. I wish there were showers available, but that's okay. The lake was beautiful!

Must go to Franks restaurant. Great camping, 27 hole disc golf course and beautiful lake with good fishing. Well worth the trip. It’s in Mosquito CA

Found it by chance. Very clean and plenty of shade. Beautiful place to stay. Read the website though if you are pulling a trailer. There are two ways in and if you have a trailer you don't want to use the bridge. The road is bumpy and narrow but safe. Go slow and preserver. It's worth it.

Can not say enough about this beautiful campground. We had 8 families come up to camp for the weekend. This campground was not only naturally surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature, spotless and kid friendly atmosphere. We were greeted by our host Becci Calderon, I truly cannot say enough about her eagerness to help and make all of our 8 families camp experience to be the best experience as possible. Well with her hospitality and nature’s beauty. Can say all 8 families are looking to make this an annual trip every year. We are all looking forward to another great weekend in our future.

Thanks again,

Julie Hall

This place is so beautiful I don't want to share, but I will because we need to make sure it is available to the public for a long time!

I visited Finnon Lake Reservoir/Campground yesterday afternoon for the first time. It is so calm, quiet, and relaxing. We brought our fishing poles to test out the water and learned that while the water looks snaggy, I didn't get a single snag, which is fantastic. Maybe that changes during spring? We didn't catch anything, but I brought the wrong tackle box and was ill-equipped.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dave, who gave us some pointers regarding the best lures for the fish in this lake and taught us a little about the birds in the area. Every second Saturday of the month, they host a bird walk that is free to the public!

I very much look forward to our next visit, trying Frank's diner, and will inquire about an annual membership!

ABSOLUTELY AWSOME , a hideout that is one of the best kept secrets so very few people go there, and Franks Diner there has some of the BEST FOOD in El Dorado County.
Peaceful , beautiful , 24/7 , once there, you will NOT want to leave...especially after watching the Bald Eagles diving into the lake, grabbing a fish and taking it back to their nest and feeding their babies...WOW!!!!!!

Diamond in the rough, you'll forget the treacherous drive to get there once you see the lake and campground amenities! A few dedicated volunteers keep this a family "go to" spot for some R&R.
The lake has perch, trout and bass and surrounded by sky scraping Ponderosas and Douglas firs. You'll hear the Bald Eagles screeching and swooping in front of you to catch a fish. Definitely better than the discovery channel! No motorized boats keeps the lake and grounds quiet and relaxing. Perfect for paddle boarders and kayaking!
It's becoming quite popular,so I'd recommend booking your campsite in advance to make sure you get to enjoy a peice of this Heaven on Earth!

Beautiful private campground. On a storied pond and dam. The restaurant on site is a hidden gem. Their specials will blow you away. The cook, really a chef, has studied under many talented chefs.

been going here for ~ 8 years..............the fishing is ok, but the diner has some of the BEST FOOD ever. They have a killer Rueben sandwich that will give ANY Kosher diner in New York a run for their money! RVI

Love Finnion Lake camping. Great price, beautiful walking trails and great for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boards or boats. Bald eagles, deer, ducks and geese. Plus Frank's Diner is across from the campground if you don't feel like cooking.
