Dollar General

I am not a reviewer this is my first, maybe my second, so here goes. The store on potter rd Mathews,NC is the one I have been shopping at. I have not been a $General shopper in the past, I am happy to voice my experience. Not sure if you can excuse my lack of knowledge of the names of your employees but will try. Your 2 top cashiers are exceptionally good, the young woman who is married w/kids,her daughter who is 11yrs& was just disciplined for her poor attitude 😕which I think is great. Her work ethic definitely shows, is sincere plus always welcoming. The other gentlemen is a tall, African American, extremely polite and willing to put himself out for your customers.I have to say his mother or father did an truly amazing job of putting a fine and respectable man in this rapidly declining world. Now for the negative, I believe the manager should NOT be one, I have had many, many employees, mgmt, sales and every one in between. This young man is quite short in stature w/dark hair. He is very, very abrupt, short tempered w/both customers ,like me, and even more so w/employees. Demeaning, condicending and he speaks like no manager should. If not for the others I would no longer patronize that location. Now I know that this is probably more than you wanted to know... but you asked for it!!! Karen Matos Mathews 28104 😆

Abundance of selection, great staff, very helpful...great team...I hope they are appreciated by management...it looks like a lot to keep on top of and every time I have been there it's a great experience...even on days when there are boxes everywhere and they are struggling to put out new products...valuable asset to the community!

I go here to purchase helium balloons for birthday's, get well, smiley faces, etc. The prices are much cheaper than a hospital, grocery store, gift store, etc. So if you're going to visit someone who is sick in hospital or nursing home, try here beforehand. Saving money is earning money!

I enjoyed immensely my little shopping trip.
I don't know what you are looking for, but I found what I needed there in a friendly atmosphere.

Always enjoy Dollar General because you can count on their inventory. My weakness is their salted nuts & snack area. Good bargain
