Great time camping at this site! Nice fire pits with grates, and every site has a sturdy hook that was super handy for hanging my Coleman gas lantern!

It is a beautiful, rustic camp with a wonderful beach for swimming. If you want modern campsite. Within arms reach of each other then go to Brimley State Park. If you’re looking for peace & quiet, no close neighbors, nature and a place to $&( in the woods Monocle Lake is it!

BEST host ever!!! Larry & Becky do a wonderful job creating a clean and friendly campground. The vault toilets are the cleanest we have experienced during our camping tour of the Great Lakes. The grounds are very well maintained and views of Monocle Lake are AWESOME. This is indeed a hidden treasure. This campground is close to the Soo Saint Marie Locks that go between U.S. and Canada. Iroquois Lighthouse 1 mile away. Very very limited Verizon😕

Great campground! Isolated for privacy, not too close together. Lots of space for campers and tents. Has a boat ramp too and public beach! Very clean!

Nice, well-kept campground with clean bathrooms and good sized campsites. Fishing in Monocle Lake was ok. My only complaint would be that when we stayed there there was at least one camper that ran their generator basically at all hours that were not quiet hours, but that was more reflective of the weekend we went (Labor Day) and of no fault of the campground itself. I liked the option to reserve a site ahead of time, especially when planning to come up for a busy weekend like Labor Day!

So clean. Super nice camp host Kevin. The close proximity to the lighthouse and Lake Superior are both superior.

Clean campground and decent drinking water. They also made some nice improvements on the picnic area.

Clean, beautiful, and large sites. Many 30 foot rigs. Tent friendly too. Road is paved throughout the campground.

Very clean quiet campground. The sites are all wooded with a good separation. No electricity. Generator use is limited to 2hr at a time. Vault toilets. 1/2 the sites are first-come so it is possible to just drive in a find a spot. (At least during the week)

We go here to walk our 5 miles every day. Beautiful paved road, beaches. I do not believe they clean daily but it was fairly clean. Camping sites available too.

we fell in love with this place! the camp sites are huge and you are definitely far enough from your neighbors! this campground is so quiet it was the best sleep we have gotten in OUR tent for years i don't even sleep this well at home! the lake is beautiful the campground hosts keep the campground really tidy and the bathrooms are super clean. we actually went to our initial reservations in st ignace and canceled to come up here regardless if we were getting our refund back or not! would recommend this place to anyone even with kids! we are 5 hours away and would go in a hear beat again- there are things to do near--Lake Superior, the lighthouse, the bear ranch, and the falls all within a couple hours away! LOVE LOVE LOVE we will be back

The sites are huge and very woodsy. We used site 38 and we barely even noticed that we had neighbors. bathrooms were exactly what you'd expect for a rustic campground. The lake is gorgeous with beautiful rocks to behold. Will definitely be returning.

We just happened to find this hidden gem of a campground while road tripping the UP one summer. Ever since that day we have been making it a priority to come back here every summer & camp. Our first stay here we were gathering twigs in the woods for the campfire & came across a Indian Pipe flower! First time ever seeing one! Not only that but we found baby toads in our campsite & even seen a couple newts.

The campsites are nicely spaced out. Plus it's all shaded in. The lake is so beautiful & peaceful and there's even a trail going around the entire lake! Took us about a couple hours to hike around it through the woods. Also there's a trail going up to the local cemetery where there's some old Indian burial sites. Definitely lots to do & see here! ^_^

Great little campground. Quiet park in quiet area. The area residents are very nice, large portion of local population are Native Americans. Large campsites with lots of room between sites. Clean and well staffed - camp host on site is not overbearing and not neglectful.
No hookups and not really any pull thru sites but you can get thru park easy enough with big rigs and several sites are suitable for the big ones to back into. Several locals sell firewood. The closest provisions are at a nice small grocery/deli market just east of the main intersection in Brimley, near the State Park entrance.

Monacle lake campground would be a very nice place to camp! It seems quiet, but it does get busy during July and August. There is the lake there, which has swimming and fishing. You can hike a trail on that lake, from the picnic grounds. There are campground hosts, who were there when I visited. They are really friendly and knowledgeable.
