I wanted some Potato Greens and I did a Google search and Wologisi Restaurant came up. Let me say the food was absolutely wonderful! Sunny did not disappoint! The Potato Greens came with Beef and/or Chicken. I also got the Fish (bone in) with Plantains. O.M.G!!! If you are looking for authentic Liberian Cuisine, I recommend Wologisi. Not only was the food delicious, the owner and chef, Sunny was so kind and sweet and she provided the best customer service that I have received in a very long time. I will be returning frequently. Thank you!

Just came here for the first time because I wanted to try fufu. The owner was incredibly nice and accommodating! She talked to me about what fufu is and the different types that are made. I ordered the fufu and pepper soup and palava with spinach. The food was delicious and she brought a water bowl to clean my hands with, as I was eating the fufu with my hands. The tv was a little loud but she was very kind and turned it down when we asked. Very much enjoyed the experience!

The Palm Butter is Excellent. The restaurant is very clean and the customer service was the best I’ve received in a long time. Also try the goat soup, it’s tender and the soup is savory. The owner Sonni is very nice and she makes sure to provide the best customer service. She’s also very patient.

If you dig home style (and ethnic) cooking, skip the gyros and falafel and go straight to the African entrees. Just outstanding stuff… we had the chicken stew and another dish with beef in potato greens over rice. Both were delicious. The owner/chef will guide you.

Located in the old Al Watan restaurant space, Wologisi is a gem of a find. Sure, you can get gyro's and French fries, but why? At the counter are steaming trays full of West African specialties. Lamb, goat, chicken and fish are on offer with your choice of rice. We're had the goat, chicken, and greens with fish. The dishes have been without exception deeply flavorful, accessible, and satisfying. Don't miss the freshly fried plantains, hot from the grill and slightly caramelized. They folks DESERVE your business!

I ordered the palm oil smoked turkey. I dont know much about the palm part as I'm not familiar with it but the smoked turkey was the best I've ever had. Whoever made the smoked turkey knows their way around a smoker!

I'd love to see what else they can smoke up back there!

Ordered from DoorDash, arrived sooner than expected. Cheesesteak was great, gyro was great, jollof rice was good, but not what I was used to. There’s significant differences in jollof from different regions though, so no foul there. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food, would like to try the babaganoush next time.

Before the sign went up, I walked into what use to be Altawan, and found myself pleasantly surprised! Ownership had changed and it was no and African restaurant!!!

While we live near a hub of delicious African eats, I've always wished a location pop up.

The food is delicious and the service exceptional!!!

I LOVE how the owners have remodeled and shifted the space. It's a weekly and occasional biweekly stop for us! Yum!

This place is a jewel. I walked in to blank walls and fresh paint, since Alwatan (the previous restaurant) closed, it was an abrupt difference. There was a bright and cheerful lady standing next to the counter with an assortment of hot trays of West African food. I asked what the dishes were and found that they were serving three different rice dishes including jollof. There were a few different chicken dishes, okra stew and yassa which I ordered. Additionally, there was another business partner in the back making Lebanese food, who seemed to be carrying on the Alwatan torch who made my father a lamb gyro. They don't have a formal menu yet and still are getting started. Ask questions. Order what looks or sounds good and you will be rewarded with amazing food. The jollof rice was out of this world and the chicken dishes were perfectly spiced. The okra stew had some serious heat too which was appreciated. A full salad and two baklava comes with any meal you order, which is also great. I hope this place succeeds because this is some of the most delicious West African food I have had in the entire region, making it a great addition to the international food scene that this area of Louisville is becoming.

Went in and was greeted by the sweetest lady behind the corner. Told her what I wanted and she made sure that my daughter and I were well taken care of. I had the spinach and rice. Had lots of flavor. Tried to save some for tomorrow but I couldn’t. Ate every single bite
