The moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a serene atmosphere that set the tone for a totally relaxing experience. The highlight of my visit was the facial and upper body massage, expertly performed by the talented aesthetician, Sydney!!
My skin was totally rejuvenated and my muscles were completely relaxed. She was attentive, professional, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. The facial left my skin glowing, and the massage melted away all my stress!

Sydney is such a kind and welcoming person! I went to her for my first facial ever and I'll never go anywhere else, she made me feel so comfortable and informed about my skin with her knowledgeable advice. She creates such a dreamy environment and she truly seems to care about giving her clients the most relaxing experience possible. I think her prices are incredibly affordable for the high quality products and fun add-ons she offers. I highly recommend booking with her!

I had a CBD facial from Makenna and felt so absolutely cared for. I immediately started to relax and melt into the comfy table. Gen and Moon is such a cozy, relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. I will definitely be back for another facial. Makenna has the touch of an angel. Her presence is so soft and nurturing. My skin feels so soft and glowy and the massage on my neck and scalp was such a wonderful experience. We all need rest and care. I’m a massage therapist and have been reminded again why self care is essential.

Sydney is extraordinary in the world of aestheticians. She takes the time to get to know her clients and what their needs are. Her skills are a natural gift/talent and when you lay down on her table, the cares and stresses melt away. You can instantly feel that she has a passion for this. One treatment and you’re hooked! You walk out feeling relaxed and refreshed. She’s amazing!

I’ve known Sydney long before she was an aesthetician and have always felt very comfortable around her. She does not judge at all, even on more sensitive topics, and has been so helpful to me in dealing with my overly complicated skin issues. I’ve been able to learn a ton about how to properly take care of my skin and how to protect it. She has also been amazing for waxing, my original waxer has been on maternity leave so being able to go to Sydney has been amazing. She always uses quality products and I feel her pricing is extremely fair. 20/10 best ever!!! (Also cutest looking office)

Sydney has helped me beyond what I ever thought possible for my skin. I started seeing her after taking Accutane, continuing to have acne, and feeling so defeated. Within months, Sydney helped clear my acne, build my healthy and glowy skin barrier, and significantly reduce my scarring, all while providing a relaxing and safe environment to truly restore. I am SO grateful for her wealth of knowledge, expertise, humor, and kindness. I trust her completely, which is not always easy for me when it comes to skincare!
I more recently saw Makenna for a brow wax and then for a facial. I had never had a brow wax, and Makenna did a gorgeous job! I am so happy with my brows. The facial I got with her was also delightful. I am so grateful to have one more person I can completely trust with my skin!
These two truly are the dynamic duo for skincare. I cannot recommend them more highly.

I have never been happier than when I am at Gen & Moon. The walk in is a whole vibe and all my worries melted away. The atmosphere is perfect and inviting with friendly faces. I had Makenna as my esthetician, and I couldn’t be happier. She was so in depth and caring which you don’t see very much. She made sure I was comfortable in the CUTEST room I have ever been in. It didn’t feel clinical, it felt like home. From start to finish I was on another planet, it was so relaxing and her technique is amazing. She did this cool skin analysis which gave me answers vs questions. A whole skin care routine was created for me and the products I am using are clean and healthy and WORKING! Guys, she has SNACKS which helped me on my long drive home and the yummiest fruit water! This little slice of heaven in Placerville is just perfect for your skincare needs.

I will always recommend this place and the women that work here. It’s amazing what they are doing there and the talent within those walls. Just book one facial and you’ll be convinced too!

Gen & Moon - by far the best. First, I’m inspired by their social media posts, learning about the best ways to care for my skin from the inside, out. Second, every time I’ve been there - 3 times since December 2023, I leave feeling relaxed and glowy. Sydney takes extreme care with her approach, from the initial consult, through the appointment and shows ways to maintain, between appointments without being pushy or upselling. She knows her stuff and I’ve felt the improvement in my overall skin health. I just left from my most recent appointment today, and the addition of Makenna is awesome! They are a true team, and you can tell with the amount of care Sydney is taking with Makenna’s training, and the level of expertise already, it means great things for Gen & Moon and more access to services with the two of them there! If I could give a million stars, I would!✨💜

I cannot say enough good things about Sydney and the experience I received from her. She has the most relaxing and comfortable space to receive your treatments in. She is so knowledgeable about what was best for my skin and my treatment/products have been perfection. She's also just the sweetest! This place is definitely worth trying. You won't be disappointed. I had a fantastic facial with Sydney today! I have been seeing Sydney for 2 years now and always leave relaxed after the facial. My skin looks better after each visit! She is super knowledgeable and gives great advice without being overwhelming. I am so appreciative of the relaxing, pampering treatment today 💚 will be back in 6 weeks!

The most amazing place with the most amazing women! Right when you walk in there is such a sense of calmness that is truly such a great feeling. Sydney and Makenna greeted me right as I walked thur the door and were the nicest people! I had Makenna and I can proudly say that was the most amazing facial I have ever gotten. She fully explained every single thing she was doing to the T!!! My skin has never been this soft and literally glowing before ever!! Makenna is an amazing woman and I am so excited to keep coming back! Truly best costumer service, I immediately felt like I knew them for years :)

Update!! Gen and Moon recently welcomed Makenna to the team and she is such a natural. I have seen her twice now since being in a car accident, and she has given me such peace during such a stressful time. She is fabulous at what she does and I can’t wait to see her again soon!

I have been following Sidney’s account on Instagram for some time now and love what’s she’s doing with her business that could potentially help my business as well. I decided to book a 1-1 business call with Sidney to get more in depth about business. I wanted some insight on her marketing strategies and networking she’s done for her business, the treatment room and such. Being an esthetician myself, I feel it’s important to connect with other estheticians and share our experiences and knowledge. I love that her mission in our business is similar to mine, as we both want to help clients feel confident in their skin and go beyond just providing them with a facial service.

My business call with Sidney was as I expected, She is very well spoken, very thorough and detailed with the information she provided me with. She’s very knowledgeable and open to speak about anything skin related. She answered all of my questions in detail and followed up with a very detailed document including every topic we spoke about and any questions I had, which I can refer back to as needed. Sydney is amazing and so sweet. I recently relocated and by chance found Sydney. Could not be happier. I love the results I have seen in just a few months of getting regular facials. It is a balance of relaxation and effective skin care. I have some challenges with aging skin, sun damage etc. My skin looks better than ever! She listens to your concerns and always has great skin care advice. Her new spa is so nice! Highly recommend.

Trigger warning: Since moving up here I’ve had to go to places like the European wax center strictly out of convenience to maintain my self care routine. I would try to switch around between waxers and also look outside at other salons to try and find a good waxer whom was also genuinely a good person. Over time, I learnt how the employees aren’t usually the best in character; they also employ people with criminal backgrounds and felonies. I had the unfortunate experience of briefly working with some of those women and after standing up to them about how their behavior is shameful. How uncomfortable it was to witness how they so disrespectfully body shame and trash talk about each customer and spoke so foully about everyone both before and after their appointments. It really opened my eyes to the severity of their toxic personalities. I stood up against them and refused to fall to their constant bullying and harassment pressures. Then, one day, they chose to tell the women that was waxing me for my Brazilian to use her cell phone “to respond back to the manager” during our wax session but instead she was taking pictures of my exposed body and sent the pictures out to all her colleagues and friends. Later I discovered what they had done and how the previous manager and now current manager were the ones whom planned it out, vindictively thinking it would be funny for her to do that to me. I wasn’t able to report them due to my lake of physical evidence against them. Words cannot describe how horrible those people are. I’ve been dealing with ptsd every time I have to step into a salon to continue my self care practices. I share this sensitive and incredibly personal experience with you all to inform you to be careful. You think you might be going into a safe space but it can be so incredibly far from it. I am beyond grateful that Sydney showed up in my life when she did because I was trapped going to those very bad people. Every time I would try to get waxed somewhere else that waxer would harass me questioning why, where and who I went to. I lived in fear and it took a lot out of me to face those people constantly pretending like things were okay when they definitely were not. Sydney has been a god sent! She has been so patient and kindhearted. Providing me the safe space and time to heal from my past traumas. Not only that but she genuinely cares about your wellbeing and provides safer and healthier waxing techniques that protect your skin and remove your unwanted hair the correct way, without breaks or irritation. We have seen such amazing results just after 2 treatments with the thinning of my dark, middle eastern hair type. Investing in your health, in beauty industry, goes beyond your commitment to the practice. Take the time to choose your esthetician wisely because they can severely harm your body. Thank you Sydney for being such an amazing person!! Thank you for being so knowledgeable and passionate in your practice. I am forever grateful to you. Not only have you helped me heal internally but you have improved my skin both in our waxing sessions and with your personalized facial treatments!! I wish you the best!! Sydney is amazing! The second I saw her instagram page I knew I wanted to go to her for some self care and she provided so much more than that! Sydney is very knowledgeable about our skin and does such an amazing analysis on your skin! When getting a facial from Sydney it doesn’t feel like your typical facial, she really customizes the product and service to what you need! She is so knowledgeable about products as well and gives you options that fit your budget! My skin has improved so much from her simple recommendations! I have been enjoying her facial of the month, it is so relaxing but also leaves my skin feeling amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Sydney. In the simplest terms, she is a GOOD person. You don’t find many people like her. I trust her implicitly with my well-being.
Some brief background:
I got Shingles in the middle of the pandemic which resulted in Ramsey Hunt Syndrome (facial paralysis on my left side). I went to my family physician, a neurologist, an ENT, a chiropractor, an acupuncturist, and even had treatment at Stanford (yea, that one) for over a year. None of those doctors did the research on my condition or gave me the personalized care that Sydney has over the past 2 years. When I first found her (her start at Massage Envy), she asked questions, listened to my experience, and was genuinely interested in helping me manage my condition and work towards a future recovery. So, I followed her when she launched her own business. She is constantly building on her industry knowledge and develops treatments/makes recommendations based on what she finds. I trust her more than any doctor I have seen (or could see) about this. She has supported me & helped me to further my recovery more than all of them combined.
Most importantly, Sydney truly cares about what she does, her clients, and her growth as a professional. She is constantly learning to expand her ability to help her clients with specific issues. I respect her integrity and her passion for making people feel good about themselves (without all the superfluous sales you might get from other estheticians). I never feel pressure to buy stuff there, although she does carry the best products if I want to. She has helped me further in my recovery
At the beginning of this review, I said that I couldn’t say enough about her and while I’ve said a lot, I could go on.
Just know that if you are lucky enough to be a client of Sydney’s, you will never regret the choice. She is a special person who makes everyone she works with feel special.

I have had many facials with Sydney and I swear every single time it is the best facial I’ve ever had! She’s so incredibly knowledgeable. The best part of every facial (other than the fact that she does everything she can to help my skin) is that she is kind and so comforting. There are a lot of things that can be embarrassing or things that I feel self conscious about and Sydney has always made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. That and her massage techniques are beyond relaxing. I will not got to another esthetician as long as Sydney is still practicing!

I have been seeing Sydney for almost a year now and I look forward to every session. She is so knowledgeable and cares so much about her profession. She has taught me so much about how to care for my skin at home. She makes me feel so comfortable and doesn’t judge at all. I HIGHLY recommend Sydney to everyone I meet!
