Showalter’s Orchard & Greenhouse

My sister and I visited the Cidery May 2024. So good. We are very picky on our ciders and liked most of them. We ended up purchasing 4 bottles. The ciders were crisp and clean. Tasting of apples, not carbonation. Well balanced. Bartender was very helpful. The tasting room was clean, nice, airy. The grounds were beautiful. Amazing views. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful place! We stayed in the Orchard Oasis for our 5th wedding anniversary and “perfect” is an understatement. Such a gorgeous spot tucked away in apple tree rows. Private and secluded but with amenities that make you feel like you’re in a boutique hotel. I can’t say enough great things! Jenny at the tasting room was wonderful and welcoming and the hard ciders were delicious. “Off The Press” was my personal favorite and I can’t wait to drink the cans when we get home. Already looking forward to planning our next getaway to this relaxing place!

My Sister and Brother in law were married at Showalter’s Orchard and Greenhouse. The Greenhouse has been renovated into a beautiful indoor venue. They had the ceremony outside in front of the orchard with an amazing view of the mountains. The reception was inside the greenhouse. It was very nice and elegant. A beautiful space to have a wedding or formal event.

Such a cool place with peach and apple trees, where you can easily pick your own fruit for purchase. Be sure to try the various ciders inside the cider bar! My personal favorite was the Betwixt, but everything we tried was delicious. Emma was gracious with her time and was really nice to talk to about the farm and the ciders. We can’t wait to visit the orchard again!

We enjoyed our afternoon here. Very busy this weekend. The donuts were extremely yummy. A large group of us hung out for several hours. The shop has hot toddy mixes, jams, apple butter, soap, apples, tee shirts, and various other items. You can buy apples pre picked OR walk the orchard and pick your own. 🍎🍏🍎 The views are spectacular!! Another plus, you can bring your dog...on a leash, of course. Today there was also a wedding that took place on the property. 🥂

Apple picking was always there in my bucketlist. Living in Florida made it difficult for me to tick that one off. So when I planned for a trip to Virginia I made sure that there is time for 🍎 picking. Carters orchard was the only one with great reviews that popped in our google search, so we went there. However their tickets were sold out and we were directed to a boring drive through without even being allowed to get out of the car. I was so disappointed and next day I found Showalter's Orchard .I am so glad I did .

Omg it was a great experience. We found apples without much effort. They were big and beautiful 😍 We picked Stayman 🍎 and they were absolutely delicious and juicy. They stayed fresh all along our almost 2 week vacation. This place is gorgeous. Too bad I couldn't taste their Cider as the wait time was too long. They have Apple cider donuts too, and on top of everything
they have friendly dogs running around.

We love everything about Showalter's Orchard & Greenhouse, Old Hill Cidery, Ava's Endeavors Coffee Truck, Farm Stay vacation rentals AND wedding venue! They have it all, but in a very authentic, non-commercial setting. This is a true working farm that welcomes visitors! We have visited for apples, cider and donuts; we have hosted our daughter's wedding here (beautiful setting!!); we have even stayed overnight in our camper (through Harvest Host) and woke up to the most amazing view of the sunrise over the mountains and Shenandoah Valley.

I have come here several for several years now and I love how they’ve kept the relaxed environment while growing their business. They have great cider and even better apple cider donuts! They are so popular that they ran out the day I was there, but no worries, it means that I got to get some fresh out of the oven! Of course the PYO apples were also delicious and I look forward to making cider and crisp this week.

Fun for the family, relaxing and pleasant experience. The orchards are timed in ripening so that the picking is confined to a few rows, making it easier to find good trees. The apple donuts and cider are delicious, with options for kids and a nice lawn to sit on. Lines can be long, but they work to move things quickly and efficiently as possible.

Did a 3 day trip searching out LOVE works signs and I am so glad this was one of my stops. Did a tasting and had memorable conversations with staff. Very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere with breath taking views. I enjoyed each tasting but “Off The Press” won over my taste buds. I will definitely be returning when in the area and recommend to everyone that it is worth the stop. Family friendly with pick your own peaches starting any day now. Thank you for a relaxing time.

The views! The apples! The farm! The drive! These good people have some AWESOME ciders, drinks, gift options, donuts, and of COURSE apples! Pro tip: buy a small bag to pick to get your picking experience, and buy some "seconds apples"-- they are dirt cheap and were so sweet and delicious! They have picnic tables here too if you want a pack a lunch and then pick, like we did. Bring your camera, it is beautiful here.

Despite COVID restrictions keeping us from enjoying the full experience of the tasting room, the friendly staff walked us through their selections based on our tastes. Enjoyed the Cidermaker's Barrel which has a smooth oaky taste as the cider is aged in bou on barrels. Getting some Growler to take home! If you want non-alcoholic they have a selection of that as well as fresh produce!

Dani and Michelle were awesome! The cider is delicious and the apples: tasty! My third year coming here for the annual fall harvest festival. Love coming here!

Stopped to sample ciders. Turned into a great afternoon meeting new people. Jennie is a dream employee! Made it informative, personal and fun! Great ciders as well. Need a few more snacks, but otherwise this is a lovely place to spend some time!

The absolute best apple cider I have ever tasted! The frozen cider is worth driving across the country for! Loved my visit!

I have been involved with this business for well over a decade. I personally know the family as well as their lovely dogs. Their staff are very much involved and are class acts. They understand running a business is about service and they deliver it promptly.

They absolutely have the best pressed apple cider I have ever tasted. I am drooling thinking about it starting up in the next month, can't wait. Thanks Sara and Shannon for your efforts in running a great business. I know it is never easy and you do an incredible job! Thanks for your service to the Valley!
