I just received my first subscription box and I am already incredibly impressed with the quality of the cuts of meat I have tried so far. Everything just TASTES BETTER than store-bought. Period. It feels good to know that I am doing something better for my health and supporting a farming family in the process. The service has been great; lots of communication and perfect packaging/delivery. Zero issues so far. I'm very happy with my first purchase and I highly recommend!!!

We have enjoyed J & L Green's wonderful farm products and personal, above-and-beyond service for years. The quality of their poultry, pork, and beef is outstanding, and we appreciate their sustainable farming practices. Every cut of meat is carefully packaged for freezing. Customer service (I.e., Laura!) is prompt, friendly, and easy to contact. Not that we have ever had a complaint!! Just questions! I give the absolutely highest recommendation for J&L Green Farm.

Laura kindly set aside two 5 lb broiler chickens that we drove down from Round Hill, VA to pick up and enjoy for our Thanksgiving feast. We don’t particularly like turkey and decided to try something new this year. Boy, was that a good decision! J&L’s broilers were hands down the most delicious ones we’ve ever eaten. Thanks, Laura; we’ll be repeat customers!

Bought our Thanksgiving turkey from the web site and Laura went above and beyond to have it delivered via UPS on Tuesday, giving us plenty of time to follow her recipe for brining and cooking the bird. Everyone at dinner agreed that this was the best turkey we have tasted since our grandfather's turkey (he was a farmer, too) years ago! Thank you for all you do!

Probably one of the healthiest looking birds that I've seen in quite some time. This was our first time ordering from J&L and their communication was great, our bird arrived well in time for Thanksgiving, and as I write this, it's currently in brine for smoking tomorrow. We are looking forward to buying more from J&L.

I bought 2 bones in pork chops from this wonderful farm in Virgini. They arrived in Wisconsin still in awesome well packed freezer like box with ice packs that kept everything chilled and cold til my wife found it the next morning. I had purchased the chops, the turkey for thanksgiving and a pork should roast. Everything was still good & chilled. We enjoyed the chops so very much. We seasoned the chops & cooked the off in the indoor ninja grill. They were awesome tasting. I told my wife I want to buy the chops for bday dinner next May. I can't wait til I cook off the huge turkey and pork shoulder for thanksgiving on my green mountain wood pellet grill.

We have been ordering eggs and meat from J&L Green for four months now. We started out ordering modestly and have increased the order each month. The pork has been particularly revelatory; I didn't know pork chops and pork loin roast could taste so good! Prices are more or less those of supermarkets, but the quality is so much better. Added to all that, our confidence that this meat is healthier and more sustainably produced makes J&L Green meat an easy choice for us.

We bought the Nourish box and it was very easy to pick up at the Drop off site. All the meats sampled so far have been absolutely delicious. The pork chops made that especially apparent. I'm very happy to be supporting this farm and the amazing work they are doing. Providing food of this humane standard is a vital service and as long as I continue to live here I'll be a regular customer.

We have been buying meat as part of a buying club (drop site) for several years now and just love J&L. We've been out to the farm to "meet our meat" (as I like to call it), and Jordan and Laura's passion for what they do and respect for the land and animals is so clear. As for the drop sites, it is is very smooth process: just come to the set location at the set time and meet the delivery vehicle. While the farm is great, I love that they come to us in Northern Virginia. As for the meat, we love it. I truly feel healthier eating the pastured meat that they provide. The pork, in particular, is just nothing like what the grocery store sells. The texture isn't awash with saline injection. It is leaner, but not in any way dry. I don't think I could ever go back to the old kind.

Love their high quality meat and great selection. I have a hard time finding some cuts at other farms but J&L Green always has it! I love stocking up on their marrow bones to make bone broth. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Don't trust your grocery meats...keep your family healthy by getting it through a reputable farm like J&L Green.

Highly recommend J&L Green Farm for ethically raised and absolutely delicious chickens, beef, pork, turkey and eggs. The roasting hens are big, juicy and flavorful. Eggs have beautiful golden yolks, great scrambled, fried or in omelets. My favorite is the grass-fed beef. We mostly buy ground beef and stew beef, and the kabobs are also terrific. The prices are quite reasonable and they often have numerous products on sale. But the main thing is, I know the animals are humanely treated and never given artificial anything, so I feel great about feeding these products to my family. Very good customer service, friendly and responsive. I order online and pick up at a convenient location near my house. They also have a Facebook page to share recipes, which is fun and quite helpful.

My family and I love J & L Green Farms! They have a great selection of meats (chicken, lamb, pork, and beef) as well as eggs. The pick up is easy and convenient and the quality is unbelievable, too! Thank y'all for being such amazing farmers!

I have been a J&L Green Farm customer for over four years, and I am loving the experience of "knowing my farmer." I feel much more of a connection to my food when I pick up my meat and eggs from Laura every month. I trust their farming methods. For example, I don't have to worry about "cage free" vs. "pasture raised" vs. "free range" vs. "vegetarian fed." I know that the chickens laying my eggs have been living as nature intended them to -- roaming freely on the land, eating grass and bugs. The orange yolks are a testament to that. And I know that the animals which provide the meat I eat and feed to my children have been raised humanely in their natural environment instead of under the harsh, cramped conditions of a factory farm.

The customer service is also excellent. It's always easy to reach Laura to discuss any issues or questions I might have. The farm also has a Facebook group in which people as questions and share recipes and Laura educates customers about how to cook some of the less popular cuts of meat.

Definitely recommend this farm. My favorite products are the eggs, 1 oz mild Italian sausage links (pair with hard-boiled eggs and it's a lazy person's Scotch egg!), broiler hens, and ground meat.

My wife and I meet Laura last weekend as we picked up our first meat package. Laura answered all the questions my wife asked. Great family to buy from. I helped Jordon with a repair on his Bobcat T300. Great guy we talked for 30-40 minutes about various things. I will say without a doubt that we are customers for life. Thanks the steaks were awesome and those bratwurst were the best that I have ever had.

We have been happy customers of J&L Green Farm for the past 4+ years. We enjoy all of their products, but the standouts are probably their pork and eggs. They are just unlike any others! We've also visited the farm a couple of times and have enjoyed learning about their farming practices and how much more sustainable and healthy it is for our bodies and our environment.

We visited the farm last year and loved their set up. The chickens were "really" roaming around in enormous grass pastures and their pigs were indeed "forested." We hiked up and over the hill to find the pigs and piglets running around acres of forested woodlands. It was a delightful trip and well worth checking out. It's even nicer that the Green's deliver to Arlington for an easy monthly pickup.

I have been ordering from J&L Green Farm for a couple of years. There are so many reasons that I only eat J&L green Farm meat.
It tastes really good. I had forgotten how good meat could taste.
It is food that I feel good about eating. I know that the animals are not fed any GMO feed, antibiotics or hormones and that they eat what they evolved to eat.
I know that the animals lived free, healthy, happy lives. They were not kept in filthy, cramped, airless buildings.
The animals are raised in ways that are good for the environment. They are spread out enough that their droppings are fertilizer instead of toxic waste.
The people that butcher the meat are not madeto work at an unsafe pace. They are able to do a job they can be proud of.
It is good to know that what I am enjoying did not come at the price of suffering for animals, people or the environment.

We're new to the area as of last spring but have started using J&L since the fall. The ground beef is amazing and the owners are always customer service driven. Prices are similiar to grass fed meat at the local grocery. It's nice to support local families.

We've been getting superb quality beef, pork, and chicken from John and Laura for several years. We are so lucky to have a great source of ethically raised, nutritionally high quality meat, and we can't wait for the full cow we are getting next month!
