Prantl's stepped in when our wedding cake fell through at the last minute from another reputable Pittsburgh bakery, and did an INCREDIBLE job. The cake was amazing and exactly as we wanted it to look. We were so impressed with their service and their ability to help us out in a tough spot. We will be Prantl's fans for life. I already can't wait to eat the cake again on our wedding anniversary.

I was reading that the toasted almost torte is an absolute must when visiting Pittsburgh. Yea. Skip the sandwich with French fries on it. Just get this. Get ten of these Jrs. Stop reading this. Our wedding cake from Prantl's was an absolute showstopper! From the moment we walked into their bakery, we were met with the warmest of welcomes. The staff at Prantl's are incredibly kind and genuinely passionate about their craft, which made the entire experience delightful.

I walked in and was overwhelmed with all the pastries! I ended up ordering the Toasted Almond Cake Bar and the Toasted Almond Gob. The almonds are like a salted almond flavor, I’ve never seen anyone do salted almonds so that was one of the best things I’ve ever tried. The Gob was nice because I ate it on the go but the Almond Cake bar had the right amount of filling, icing, moistness, etc. I understand why it’s so popular!

This place is great. Staff is outstanding. Cheese bites are incredible. The toasted almond raspberry amazing.

We ordered an almond torte for my daughter’s graduation party in New Jersey. At your advice, we froze and defrosted the cake that we transported back from Pittsburgh. Your advice was spot on and the cake was delicious on the day of the party! Everyone was amazed how flavorful and moist it was even after being frozen ! Thank you so very much!

Just visited Prantl' bakery. Saw online some recommendations specifically for the almond cake and all I can say is wow! We bought a sampling of the little cake bites a piece of carrot cake and a pepperoni roll. Everything was absolutely exceptional. This is a must visit place five stars no doubt.

I have never been to one of the actual bakery's but am fully aware of the legendary burnt almond torte so we had to stop in and grab a bite. We were immediately greeted by the loveliest of ladies (Squirrel Hill) and stayed and heard a little history of the company. They were all just so sweet and friendly we probably stayed too long. Lol These days you don't find this kind of friendliness and genuine hospitality anymore. Thank you so much ladies! To the owner, I hope you're taking very good care of your employees... they make a difference! Also... YUMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! The cupcakes are to die for!

I am very impressed with the service of Prantl's Bakery. I called from Annapolis Md. to place an order for my son's birthday. Kate couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The delivery was right on time and in perfect condition. My son sent me a picture of the pie I had ordered, and it looked absolutely delicious. Thank you, Prantl's Bakery; I will keep you in mind for future special occasions.

The almond cake did not disappoint. The cake itself is tasty and moist but the candied almonds on top are incredible. I could eat a bowl of them. The cookies are really good too. Chewy kind of like the ones you got as a kid from the school cafeteria.

The world needs more cute little bakeries, and Prantl’s is here to save the day! Unfortunately there aren’t many around me, and do-everything chains like Giant Eagle just don’t get the job done. I’ve enjoyed finding French patisseries like La Gourmondine, but when the mood for classic all-American treats hits this is the place to go. As an artist I’ve been visiting Shadyside for years to visit Blick or to grab some of my favorite Pittsburgh-area pizza and gelato at Mercurio’s. Being in the area I had to finally visit.

I decided to pop into Prantl’s to browse and didn’t leave empty handed, as that should be illegal! Large glass windows provide a sneak peek of items beginning to be eaten. Although small, they have a wide variety including cakes, donuts, muffins, cupcakes, and cookies. I picked out a blueberry scone and mini red velvet cake. Neither disappointed and I’ll be back for more soon.

As someone who lives in Oakmont I am spoiled living next the the Oakmont bakery which is usually rated as number one in Pittsburgh but I have to say this place is just as good. The selection is not as large but what they do have is crafted wonderfully and tastes great.

I expected the prices to be high given the area but they were very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and I found the whole experience very pleasant

I was still hungry after lunch and my friend wanted to stop so we did. They heated my Danish for me. It was so good melted in my mouth. I will be coming back soon!

Their Almond Torte is pair extraordinaire with a cup of black coffee. I came here a few years ago on vacation. Ordered an almond torte, then bought a cup of black coffee from the café across the street. That pastry’s sweetness just balances so good with the coffee’s bitterness it’s unforgettable. 👍

I was visiting from Ocean City Maryland to cheer on the Baltimore Ravens. I was told Prantl's Bakery was a must have. I decided to take the drive and it was awesome. I would highly recommend this bakery.

Went for the world famous burnt almond torte, and wasn't disappointed at all. Very quick trip, in an out in about 5 minutes. Loved devouring that cake later. Worth the cost!

I first visited Prantl's during college finals week. My friend and I purchased an almond tort log and maybe a couple other custard or cream filled cakes. I had heard so many good things about the bakery that there was no way that it could live up to the reviews, but it did. I still frequent the bakery for treats and even purchased a carrot cake wedding cake from the bakery which every wedding guest (including myself) loved. It's a great bakery. The Carrot Cake is the best that I have ever had and the Burnt Almond Torte is amazing.

I discovered Prantel's three years ago on a visit to Pittsburgh and have been in love with everything they do since the first bite. I have visited since then and have never been let down by the quality of the offerings. I wondered what I was facing when I ordered a burnt almond torte for a very important birthday of a friend of mine. You never know what you're going to get when you order online but Goldbelly made the process seamless. The torte arrived perfect even though it had been shipped from 4 states away. When it came time for the presentation it was the hit of the party. It looked perfect and tasted as if it had been made the morning of the party.
