Essentia Health Urgent Care-Baxter

I have never had a bad experience here. Even when I was my most vulnerable, they went above and beyond for me. The nurse I had recently, I genuinely felt heard and that she cared.

Updating past review. Great hospital and staff. Especially Dr. Nathan Laposky, ER doctor.

The staff treated me and my toddler with such care. Went above and beyond to help us get the labs we needed while on vacation.

They always get you in fairly fast and I've always had good experiences with the nurses and doctors here. They help figure out what is going on, order tests, and/or medications and get you out the door pretty quickly. It's a doctors office so it is what it is... but, I'd recommend it if you are sick or injured.

We came in on a busy Saturday afternoon and were treated with nothing but friendliness, compassion and an appropriate sense of urgency. We needed lab work, an X-ray as well a a few other tests to diagnose a difficult situation. It was very impressive how well the entire Essentia team worked together to help calm the situation as well as provide outstanding care. I feel very fortunate to have this Essentia team in our community!

I brought my son in, first class treatment! Very Knowledgeable, Kind, & Professional. From the front desk receptionist handing a new patient, Doctor's communication, Nurses patient relationship and the pharmacy staff, A+.

We had to take our 5 month old son here on a Monday night. Check-in was easy. Waited about 10-15 minutes in the sitting area. Nurse and Dr. Moriarty were both very kind and attentive. Sent us for a chest X-ray (tech was also kind) and were promptly back in the exam room. Needed meds from the pharmacy, where again, the pharmacist was very nice. It wasn’t too busy. About 2-3 other patients, but nobody waited long. Would definitely go back if we ever need to.

While on vacation my wife injured her ring finge in a spill off a Stand-up paddle board. We decided to go to Essentia and were extremely satisfied with her care. Intake was fast and friendly, and they provided an ice pack right away. Initial wait was 30 minutes and then some time in an exam room. A very nice Nurse practitioner in training did the assessment. She was friendly, caring and thorough. My wife was very cold because of coming in straight from lake and she was given a warmed blanket. We went down the hall and waited 5 minutes for an xray tech. Then back to the waiting room for 5 more minutes. She had dislocated her finger. She was treated by the same Nurse Practitioner in training and a Nurse Practitioner, who gave her a nerve block shot and set the finger.

Edit: My wife saw a specialist Orthopedic Hand surgeon for followup today 7/19/2021 and the finger was set perfectly.

Maybe it was the time of the day, but I was blown away by the efficiency of this Urgent Care clinic. The longest part of my visit was registration and talking with a doctor (about drones, a mutual hobby we shared).
FAST: If you want to get in and out quick you will be amazed. I didn't even have time to cross my legs before I got called into be seen.
FRIENDLY: From the first face that greeted me at registration, to the nurse, doctor and lab every individual I met was very kind.
FOLLOW UP: The Doc said I would hear from them the next day, and I did. Sometimes us patients have to call the Dr. office to figure out why we haven't been contacted. That wasn't the case with my visit.
ACCURATE: The doctor ran the right tests, and gave a possible other option (viral which took care of itself).

Hopefully I won't have to visit again, but if I do it will be a good experience.

We were on vacation and had to visit urgent care so my toddler son could use a nebulizer. We encountered reception staff, 2 nurses, and a NP and everyone was so nice. They treated my son and gave us an Rx right away. It seemed like they really cared even though we were just one time patients from out of town. It was scary when my son couldn’t breathe but going into this urgent care clinic was an overall good experience.

Excellent care! A prompt and courteous check in and I waited a short while to be seen. The doctor was very help and nice, and the pharmacy inside there was more efficient than in the cities. I don’t understand the other reviews. I was impressed.

I was in urgent care earlier today and needed to have a procedure done that isn't to common. Anyways my Doctor Kayla H. made me feel really comfortable and was very nice. Sometimes I come in and the doctor makes me feel stupid or like I am just another number. It was very refreshing and I appreciated it so much. She deserves a raise :)

Our wait time to see a doctor was about 15-20 min from the time we walked in the front doors until the time the doctor came into our room. Dr. Novak was GREAT! She listened, she was empathetic, she explained everything clearly and spoke slowly enough that we could absorb all the information. She answered all of our questions and included us in the care plan.

While camping nearby, I started having some stomach pain. Everyone at this facility was top notch from the gals at front desk registering you, the nurse and Dr. Anderson was especially amazing. His exam and questioning was thorough and his diagnosis was spot on. He sent me to the local hospital for a scan to confirm diagnosis and called me in a timely fashion to tell me results. Thank you to everyone for helping me in a time of pain.

I came to the urgent care with my 2yr old. He had a gash on his forehead that required 3 stitches. All staff was kind and graceful. My family recently moved into the area and this has been our first medical encounter in the area. It was comforting to be in good hands. *They weren’t stingy with the stickers. For a 2yr old, stickers make all the difference!

Had to go to urgent care for my son while visiting a cabin in the area. We got in and out very quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We were in and out in love 30 mins and that's from the time I got checked in everyone was really nice and friendly.

Everyone was very nice and professional. Love our brainerd hospital and clinics.
