Rio Mirage Café- Surprise Location

It's one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants. The service is always excellent. Attentive and always pleasant. Food yummy. One of us always gets the fajitas and then we try something new, we are vegetarian which there are not a lot of options, but they will work with you. Atmosphere is dark and pretty authentic to places I've been in Mexico. Lots to look at. They are busy most of the time so prepare to wait a few minutes for a table. 👍🏼

Best Mexican restaurant in Surprise. The food quality fluctuates but it is pretty good. The margaritas are always on point and I love that they have different tequila options. The salsa isn't great, doesn't taste fresh. On this visit we got the 1/2 pound fajitas with an extra side of rice and beans, which was plenty for 2 people to share. Most visits I get the fajita chicken chimichanga, enchilada style. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend.

100% our new go-to place for Mexican food! Delicious food, awesome portions and the service was great! Attentive servers, I don’t remember her name but she was excellent, our drinks were the best we’ve had locally (they know how to make a Shirley temple here praise the lord!!)
My chimichanga was great! Good chicken, good sauces, the rice and beans were great. I was really happy with my food and so was my wife. We will definitely be returning to Rio Mirage Cafe!

My family loves to come to Rio Mirage. Both locations are great, but we really love this one. There is typically a wait later in the afternoon, but today we walked right in and were seated. We were greeted right away and service was friendly. I was trying to decide what to eat and the server recommended the shrimp enchilada. We filled up a bit on chips and salsa which were great and when my enchiladas came they were amazing.perfectly sauced and full. Our waitress was kind and on top of everything the entire time.

Best meal I enjoyed in the Phoenix area…twice! Mango margaritas (get yourself a designated driver) enchiladas, chimichangas, their salsa….all of it was so delish. Staff feels like family, eager to ensure we had a good experience. Unassuming location but feels comfortably authentic. Highly recommend!

We stopped in here on a hunch and so glad we did. We were greeted and waited less than 2 minutes. Received excellent service by a gentleman by the name of Chuy He was very friendly, very knowledgeable had a great personality. And definitely pointed us in the right direction of some of our favorites. The fajitas were made perfectly, and the red chilli burrito was amazing as well. The prices are not the cheapest, but they are not at all overpriced, and everything was well worth it. This is definitely a new favorite. We will always come back to and you should make it yours. Come and see Chuy, he'll get you right.

This is my new favorite place for salsa! Left the perfect burn on my tongue without making me feel like needing to chug a glass of milk.

A bit pricey so it's definitely a place we would go as a "treat", but worth the price.

Staff was very kind and patient with me, and even tried to teach me how to pronounce the dish name correctly 😄

Edit; Our second time here and still very amazing! And if someone higher up sees this, please give Mark the waiter a raise! The staff obviously loves him, he practically runs to make sure every table is taken care of, and he genuinely made us feel welcome and special. This man has taken customer service skills to a new level!

Once again, Mark is amazing. He even talked my very picky husband into trying the seasonal Birria Tacos, and he liked them! Usually you will have to threaten to break his fingers before he will even consider going out of his comfort zone when it comes to food, so this was not an easy victory on Mark's part.

First time here after hearing and reading about this restaurant for a couple of years. We were a group of six. Service was excellent as was the food. Would recommend to anyone!

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The service and food are always excellent. While the place is usually packed, there is seldom a wait to be seated.

Mark was our waiter and he was amazing. The food was amazing.
Let’s talk about it for a sec because these things are hard to find. Mark started off by giving us the history and how things are done then after some fun banter he made a great recommendation and for the drinks best margaritas I have had in awhile. We will be back!!!!!

Delicious Salsa and the kitchen is willing to split meals. We had Chicken Enchilada dinner which was huge.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! The service was amazing. I really loved our waiter. The chips and salsa were wayyyy too good. We ate about 3 baskets and got too full to eat our actual food, so we had to take it to go! But it was really good reheated, so I'm willing to bet it was a lot better fresh!

Mark, our outstanding waiter tonight showed us a new mini menu featuring items specifically made for this fall. He told us how good the Birria Tacos were - and WOW, they were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! Best Mexican restaurant in Phoenix! Always great! If you like great Mexican food and great margaritas, this is the place!

Everything was great! Drinks and food came in a reasonable amount of time. The food was authentic. I had the carnitas, which were great!

Came in for dinner with my husband and Mother in Law tonight, we had Josh as our server. He was phenomenal. Friendly, personable and just made the experience great. I personally have worked in a customer service position for over 30 years I can tell he enjoys his job. It’s not easy to serve people and he made it look effortless.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Very clean restaurant. Pictures are chips and salsa. Best salsa I have ever had. I had a sampler of tostadas and three dips. My daughter had enchiladas with beans and rice. Then we shared giant Silas.

Beautifully decorated, authentic Mexican restaurant. Food is incredible, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Service is stellar. They bring fresh, made in house chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Our waiters did not let our chip bowl empty. They were constantly refilling it - just amazing. The house margaritas are huge (and delicious) and they have a small selection of craft beer on draft. The whole restaurant is decorated where no detail is missed. Wonderful place for a special occasion or date night!

Everything was fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were all great, and Ramon handled our group perfectly. The El Coyote margarita was the best margarita I’ve ever had! Beautiful atmosphere as well. Thank you all!

The food was superb and our waiter was top notch. He was friendly and had great recommendations. He checked on us several times even though it was busy.
