The one and only Wondervu Cafe is doing very well thank you.
I'm a very longtime fan and have seen all the ups and downs
Ricky and the Crew are serving good food ( I had Mexican see photos) came out quickly and joyfully
Chips came out fresh and warm
sauce is tasty not hot

Updated photos!! March 2024

Back again for dinner-- the chips came out fast and hot! Same savory not spicy salsa I really enjoyed.
Lots of fresh veggies and avocado slices on the Chicken Chili dinner. Pico on it with corn tortillas very nice.
Went for second entree - steak fajitas! Crazy great salad and fluffy rice on the side with refried beans.
Desert is the awesome Mexican cream puff- try it with the caramel topping.

K, our server, was amazing! She carefully checked for MSG/yeast extract to ensure I didn't get ill, was very attentive to our needs, and was super friendly. The shrimp tacos, shredded beef burrito with green chili, and handmade truffles were delicious! We love the homey atmosphere. It feels like a day trip get away near Denver. Thank you! 😊

We have always enjoyed talking our families and visitors here for a special treat on a trip to the mountains. And it is a fun stop ever time without a hiccup at all. The staff is always helpful and friendly and today the weather made it a great day to enjoy the deck and meet new people that live in the area. The chocolates and pies are hand made and delicious. It is also a very clean place with more seating area than it looks like from the outside. You will enjoy this five star experience!

Great place to stop for lunch after a morning of snowshoeing. As always food was great and staff is very friendly. The type of place where they get to know the regulars but treat everyone as if they were one. The green chili is very spice, beware, but I still get it everytime. Portions are generous. Just a great place to feel at home when you are grabbing a bite.

Perfect place to stop for food and coffee while on a motorcycle. You can see your bike from window and enjoy excellent service. 100% will be back.

Wondervu Cafe is a small local establishment that is relatively close to Gross Reservoir and hiking. As with most restaurants, they are short staffed so please be patient and kind to the hardworking staff. I ordered the #9 Guacamole Tostada Plate and I thought it was delicious. My husband ordered the #6 Large Combination and thought it was okay. I like the Wondervu salsa which I have purchased at Whole Foods and Heinie's Market as well. For dessert, I ordered an Irish coffee truffle and oatmeal cookie. Jennifer our server was nice and I would be willing to come back.

We love to stop and eat here after a day of hitting the trials with the car or bike. My go to is the smothered fajita burrito with beans.
Highly recommended their chips and salsa both made fresh.
Also the staff is super nice!

We were a party on 15 out on the far end of a very comfortable deck. Our server Brie never missed a beat. She was very pleasant, patient and professional. We had a great experience and WILL be back!

This place was recommended to me back in 1989 - It was the best Mexican food I'd ever had and I still drool thinking about it. I had the chimichanga. I'm glad it is still around and hope to visit it next time I'm in Colorado.

We did not even eat here. Just want to note that it is, indeed, a wonderful, amazing, incredible view from here. Wish we had stopped longer for lunch.

Came in, in the middle of a weekday.

Had some nachos which were delicious and filling.

Not sure about these older reviews but this place was nice and refreshing

Small local diner-type joint. Food was great, super-friendly people, highly accommodating service. When we went, they were a bit understaffed but it was also peak tourist season (I'm a local) so I don't think it's really their fault. I would assume that they are normally able to operate at a standard pace (ie. providing reasonable seating & serve wait times); but when we went there was a decent wait on everything.

Regardless, we'll be going back next time we're passing by - we still really enjoyed ourselves. Lovely spot.

6 years later and new owner says she is honoring the traditions that Adeline and her family had in place. ( i think for over 50 years).
1-7-2023 Service was better than ever. Many staff members helping each other. New menu with lots of options to fit your budget and appetite. My Chili Relleno was full of cheese and delicious. With the black beans and spanish rice a satisfying meal for $8.50 = a bargain!!
Rumor has it that the margarita recipe has changed.
Large guacamole appetizer was delicious & generous and a very large quantity of chips.
The new owner seems very willing to hear comments from long time customers. If you try something and have a thought on it, I would definitely share with her.

2017= Always fresh guacamole! Dinner salad has baby greens, sprouts, tomatoes... Plus it is delicious. Small Nacho's is the best deal on the menu!
