Maple Tree Book Shop + Coffee House

You can't go wrong when you combine a coffee shop with a bookstore in an old downtown district. Tried their signature Maple leaf latte or something like that. The flavors blended nicely however I got the small because the large version has the same amount of shots. Small was about perfect but to move to a large without additional espresso would have been too sweet.

The coffee and scones were very good. I particularly enjoy the savory scones. Good selection of used books. Coffee and book lovers beware....you'll spend more money than you need to if you're like me!!!

Being in the Navy 26 years worldwide, I have been to coffee/bookstores around the world and throughout the US. This new one ranks up with the “Hallmark Movie” coffee/bookstores…but it’s real. Make it a destination when in southeast Virginia or northeast Tennessee. You won’t regret it!!!

Flavorful coffee and flavorful bakery items! Everything was delicious. The bookstore is filled with a variety of books for both children and adults of all ages. I plan to bring my family in next time I’m in town and can’t wait for them to try it all too!

I have to say I had the best cookie I ever ate in my life from here. The maple brown sugar cookie is heavenly. They offer coffee tea, frappuccinos and a great assortment of books.

Very clean and professional set up - I recommend the lemon cookies and frozen hot cocoa frappe. A great local business to support!

The coffee shop had a huge variety of drinks, specialty muffins, cookies, & treats of all kinds. The book shop was quaint & very well laid out. It's the place you want to curl up with a hot drink and a good book any day. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, just a great local business that I will frequent any time I'm in Gate City. Go, browse, sip and enjoy. ☕📖🧁

Maple Tree is the best place to grab a new book and a good coffee. Owned by some of the best humans you could ever hope to meet. Amazing baked treats, too!

Great prices on the used books! I was particularly impressed with the children’s area. I also took home a variety of cookies, muffins, and the cinnamon rolls. The chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls were exceptional and the muffins were tasty too. I look forward to going back!

Good customer service, the owner and staff are friendly and personable. I tried one of their new latte flavors and it was delicious! Not too sweet and the coffee tasted great and wasn't bitter at all. Good atmosphere and variety of books.

This is the best coffee shop in the TRI-Cities area. They source their coffee from Red Rooster, which is a Virginia based roaster, and some of the best coffee in the country. Awesome people work here too!

The customer service was perfect they were efficient and eager to help without being overwhelming. They have a good selection books, delicious desserts, and refreshing beverages. It’s a little treasure nestled in the heart of Gate City
