As some might be aware, it most certainly is no walk in the park for individuals with mental health disorders to obtain SSDI benefits. Due to the fact that mental disabilities are the most difficult to prove, the vast majority of those who tend to apply for Social Security Disability benefits with this reasoning are met with a denial. In light of my daily struggles to maintain a normal life with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I had fought for 2+ years in hopes to obtain New York State SSDI benefits before I was finally referred to Kristen. I first got hurt while in the Marines in 1980, and had surgery. I was fine after that until I hurt my other knee while working for UPS in 1995. More surgery and I went back to work. Then in 2011, I slipped and fell inside of the UPS building and hurt both knees. I had 2 more surgeries but the knees were shot. I also developed arthritis in 7 different joints and was in the care of a pain management Doctor since 2002. It was impossible to work any more after my last 2 surgeries and was forced to retire. I heard that it was going to be very difficult to get compensation from Social Security since I won a settlement from workers comp. I called a friend from the Marines who became an investigator of fraud for the State of N.Y., and asked him for the name of an honest lawyer. He told me about Kristen King. One of the first thing that Ms. King did for me was inform me that I had the right to get survivor benefits because my wife had passed away 3 years ago. I received my first check that September.
