A hidden gem 💎 in Salem, New Jersey. We live about an hour away and to say we were NOT disappointed!! Authentic Puerto Rican food which was delicious and the service was excellent. The owners are an amazing couple, who cook with such care and love. I felt like I was family!! It's worth the ride and we will definitely be back again! I highly recommend this place! My mom and I love it here! We found a great authentic puerto rican restaurant in Salem NJ! This is somewhere we can have dinner as a family or simply take out! Love the vibes, great staff, amazing food, great customer service, and a spectacular experience! If I could give it 100 stars I would! Highly recommend:)

I stumbled upon this restaurant when my very hungry pregnant self was aimlessly browsing through DoorDash, deciding what to order for lunch. My eyes immediately lit up when I saw the word "Boricua" on my screen. Knowing the lower Salem County area only has a few Mexican restaurants for Latin options, I was practically jumping for joy when I saw there was now a Puerto Rican restaurant nearby. I'm not Spanish, but my husband is Puerto Rican, so I can really appreciate authentic Puerto Rican food when I have the rare chance to enjoy it. I wound up ordering the pernil platter, which comes with a very generous portion of rice, a side salad with Italian dressing, and some plantains. The pernil is very flavorful and moist, which I appreciate because you can tell it's fresh. The rice was also flavorful and cooked perfectly. Everything tastes homemade and reminds me exactly of my in laws' cooking. The portions are huge as well. This place definitely hit the spot, and tastes just about as authentic as it can get. I can't wait to try more from the menu. Gone are the days where holidays are the only time I get to indulge in some delicious homemade Puerto Rican food.. I know we will be regulars here!

The empanadas/pastelitos are hearty, full flavored with an almost flakey crust that’s perfectly deep fried. When I say hearty, you get your money’s worth as these are packed with meat and not small in size!!! The pricing is on point and the service is great!!!

An impressive spot in the heart of Salem!

I highly recommend this gem of authentic Puerto Rican food that will have you wanting to return for more. I cannot wait to return to try more dishes!!!! This place came highly recommended, and my love for the food, I was skeptical but left highly impressed!!!!!!!! I cannot emphasize that enough.

We eat at El Paladar Boricua every wednesday for lunch becuase we just cannot get enough. Tito and Car are wonderful people that make incredible food! Our personal favorites are the Garlic Chicken and Pernil. We had them cater our house warming party with 40 + guests, of course ordering the pernil and garlic chicken as well as a tray of their spanish rice. The price was well worth it! Everyone was able to get at least two plates full and we had left overs. The service, the food, and atmosphere are all incredible! We cannot recommend this place enough!

This place makes you feel at home, its the best place to get that authentic Puertorican flavor 10/10 !

Delicious! We where a party of 4. We had mofóngo, chicken breast with salsa a la criolla, trifóngo with chicken breast al ajillo, tostones with carne frita, tostones white rice with pink beans! The owner was very kind and answered all questions we had about catering. Order from them for your next party! We will be back very soon!

I love the food! It is all homemade and the owners and staff are very warm and welcoming. My friends and I like eating in, but you can take out too. If you are in Salem, don't miss this place.

This is the best and most authentic Puerto Rican food. The staff is super friendly and the owners are amazingly gracious and accommodating. The chicken soup is fab and pastries are heavenly. Bring a big appetite!

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see this restaurant come to Salem, NJ!!!!
And I smile big every time I drive by because I’m a faithful patron!!
And as I sit here munching on my arroz gandules, plantains and Pastelles…. I’m in my happy space!!!!.
I have not had a bad dish there and I’ve eaten so much from there!
The owners are wonderful and personable and they care about the quality of their food so you will never be disappointed!!!!

We took a detour and we’re starving, so we decided to stop here. BEST decision ever. This small town eatery has affordable, authentic and delicious Puerto Rican food
with an incredible ambiance.

Delicious food I recommend the mofongo with pork or the chicken empanda but all there food is great and fresh please give all your support to this place bc Nellie's kitchen has been harassing them trynna shut them down with guns and chase them out of salem don't let them !!!!
