The food was great but the wait staff was amazing. Our waitress clearly knew every dish offered and could make recommendations for anything you might desire. Every server in America could learn from our waitress. Just plain outstanding. Highly recommend you stop by this little spot and enjoy a nice meal.

Food was great. Small hometown feel. Everyone was extremely friendly. My only suggestion would be maybe to add some music. It doesn't have to be loud. Just for a nice soft background noise. There were points where it was dead silent in there & you were listening to other people eat. It was a little awkward LOL. But other than that, it was good!

Nice small business with pleasant service with a smile. Good, not great cheesesteak, terrific hand cut fries, good rice pudding, good cheeseburger.
The restaurant dining area is new and clean.
After leaving Assateague Island after dark, this was a nice stop.

We had a great meal at the small local cafe on our way home from the beach. My wife always wants to know "what is good here". Our server "Flo" rattled off 10 things and told us about each of them. We had 4 different meals: The Texas burger, Crab cake sandwich, Chesapeake Chicken & a Panini. Each of them were delicious and nice size portions. Flo was pleasant and very helpful. We will be back on our next trip to the beach

This little hole in the wall place was great!
We went for breakfast- got the pancakes, eggs and sausage, biscuits and gravy with home fries. The food was tasty, the portions were huge (too much to finish), and the prices were very reasonable.
We arrived shortly after they opened and were the first ones there. They were busy before long. There was one waitress and she was taking so much care with each customer while working swiftly.
Definitely recommend.

The food was delicious, and the servings were huge. Our server was efficient and pleasant. The decor isn't great, but this place is a diamond in the rough. We have been there several times and were never disappointed. We will definitely be back..

If you haven’t stopped On The Way Cafe to the beach or On The Way Cafe somewhere you’re definitely missing out! What a treat! The food is excellent!!
We were served by Flo, who couldn’t have been any nicer and more genuine to my family. Made us feel at home.
We had the deluxe garlic parm fries with steak and chicken (no shrimp due allergies) they were hand cut fries and they were delicious. The 3 and 6 year loved them. Crab dip was perfect, plenty of crab meat and good blend of cheeses. Probably could teach some of the speciality restaurants how to make it.
Wings were on point. Wraps, Caesar and Italian were too much too eat at once, delicious!! Hot roast beef sandwich with a side of fries was a hit!
The kiddos had the chicken tenders and absolutely loved them and enjoyed them the next day too!
Again, service was amazing, couldn’t ask for anything to be better! Flo you spoiled us!! So thank you!!
The only thing you need is a big sign!!!

This restaurant truly has it all! The food is exceptional, with a diverse menu that offers something for everyone. The staff are some of the friendliest I’ve encountered, always attentive and welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. Highly recommend!

This is a great place to go! Met up with a friend for lunch, first time going there and it was terrific! The cheesesteak eggrolls were no joke! They were big just like eggrolls! And the seafood calzone!! OMG!! Easy 3 meals!
Definitely a must go!

This nice little tucked in diner/restaurant has anything and everything you could want to eat. Their menu is so varied . And I hear tell their cream of crab soup and crabcakes are to die for. So next time I go, that’s what I’ll be having. Their portions are huge, so whatever you get to eat. there will be a meal the next day for you. The staff is very friendly and kind and do whatever they can to get you whatever you want. The picture is of their Cobb salad but I forgot to get a picture until I had a couple bites out of it.

IHOP, royal farms (fried chicken) and other chain breakfast joints, we try not to go to, especially on vacay. After checking multiple spots, we settled for this place and I was impressed. A total of 9, including 4 kids (super wild), but our server Marie was nothing short of amazing in every aspect of our experience. A nice and cozy diner, wasn't expecting great food and was a little hesitant on the service considering the location (middle of nowhere? Kind of).

I got the NY strip with sliced tomatoes and 6 eggs on the side. I asked for medium rare on the steak and got medium, which was fine. The steak was seasoned just the way I like em and the eggs were cooked over easy perfectly. The others enjoyed their meals as well.

But let me tell y'all about our server MARIE. She was extremely accommodating, super patient with the 4 kids we had. They were wild but she was able to maneuver around them and keep composure the entire time! 😂 Her timing was impeccable in terms of refills and checking up on us to make sure all was good. Her humor matched with ours and she was very personable.

Thinking right now, I wonder why she isn't elsewhere making more money. Not that money is everything, but with her personality and exceptional service, she should be managing an entire operation or company.
No one wants to work on the holidays, but she did so, and with grace and consideration. And she didn't even know it was (is) my birthday today.

She's the main reason why I give this place 5 stars.

Was having such a long hectic day at work and decided to place an order for myself and coworkers. I spoke with a lovely lady on the phone and told her how crazy of a day it’s been. Our pizza was delivered within 15 minutes and they even left a nice note for my staff and I. The pizza was great and they were super quick and kind! :)

Stopped here on our way home to NJ from OBX and wish this place was closer to home because the food was fantastic and the service was wonderful! Very friendly to our family of four - we will remember you next time we're driving south!

Was in town for work making some calls. Just did a Google search for restaurants in the area and saw the good reviews here. Definitely worth the trip in. Had some excellent cream of crab soup and a great cheesesteak wrap. Cherry on top was my server Marie, who was a breath of fresh air. Will be back the next time I am in the area!

The country fried steak was good and came with better than standard gravy. Recommended. Eggs cooked to order. Waitress was great, really on top of everything. Also, coffee kept getting refills without me having to ask, was nice. The prices were good, felt like an overall good value. Glad we tried them this morning.

This was our first visit and we'll definitely come again.

EXCELLENT! Food is fabulous with generous portions. Delivery was hot, and arrived at the time they said it would. I am a repeat happy camper customer.

Fantastic service! Flo is amazing! She's so sweet and thorough! She took care of everything perfectly! We ordered a broiled crab cake sammich.. which was huge, full of lump meat...cooked to perfection and delicious and a Cobb salad (minus the blue cheese..ugh😵‍💫🤪) which was also huge.. w/ large slices of avocado and bacon! It was everything I was hoping for! Nice family atmosphere in the restaurant. Like a small town family diner. I definitely recommend giving this place a go! I'm super excited about the dinner entrées and I can't wait to try them out! Thank you guys for an amazing meal!

This place is a gem. Highly recommend for breakfast. The server was just incredible.
