Trenary Toast Cafe

We had a family breakfast here. Very casual and something for everyone. The place smells amazing. The food was on point. It’s great they have a traditional Swedish menu. I had the hard boiled bite plate- and the flavor combo was amazing! Bravo!

Trenary Toast is a blend of thick Melba toast and Panera cinnamon crunch bagel, only better. For generations of 906 children, Trenary Toast was served at breakfast on a plate with warmed milk creating a simple and satisfying meal. Now everyone can enjoy this treat in downtown Marquette at the Trenary Toast Cafe. The cafe also a treasure trove of 906 eats. For starters, grab bag of toast and a coffee or cappuccino, and dunk to your hearts content. The bread soaks up all the goodness of the coffee and adds a touch of sweetness that is almost heaven. But don’t stop there, you have got to try the sandwiches. My wife and I each shared a BLT and the Lovely Lox and agreed they were both outstanding. Choose you own favorite from the menu and you will not be disappointed.

What a fantastic spot! I admit I was wary going in, with the track record of historical spots that don't always live up to their reputations. I'm glad to be shown how lovely and deserving of its enduring reputation Trenary is! Incredible food that is only as complicated as it needs to be, inviting cozy interior, and staff who are friendly and helpful! I absolutely adored the lox, and the breakfast sammie on a cinnamon roll was great (add the pepper jelly!). I got their famous and delicious toast to go, of course

Best breakfast in Marquette!! We loved everything about our first visit to Trenary Toast! The staff was kind and friendly, the beautiful space was inviting and the food was beyond delicious! They really do have the best cinnamon rolls in the UP! We loved them so much we grabbed more (along with a few bags of cinnamon toast of course!) the next morning for our long road trip home☺ Trenary Toast will definitely be at the top of our list when we visit Marquette again!

Cute little café with a small food menu. Has sandwiches, coffees, breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls. For being such a simple menu the food was really good! The house blend coffee was good.

I'm in love with the squeaky cheese plate! Truly, it has it all: Salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy! Highly recommended!

The giant cinnamon rolls are good, but they really are giant - maybe get a small?

You can buy breads, Trenary toast, and jams (including cloudberry) as grocery items, too.

5 stars for sure! Friendly, quick service and the food & latte we ordered were top notch! Not badly priced either.

Stopped in here after seeing a blueberry pie iced matcha latte advertised on a sign outside, had to have it and it did not disappoint! Their matcha is slightly on the bitter side here but was excellent with the blueberry syrup. We both got a plate of french toast which was so delicious, I had to pick up a bottle of rock river maple syrup because it was so good! Really cute clean cafe with super quick service!

We were checking out the historical dough mixer they have in the front window and was greeted by a friendly young woman who gave us a very detailed history. We got into a huge conversation about the history of tenetary toast and found it to be quite fascinating as I am a history buff, we were than led to a table and she sat and talked with us some more and found out she and her husband were actually the owners! We felt like we had made an instant friendship and she waited on us herself, we talked about the menu items and I went for the b.l.t and my girlfriend tried the avocado toast. Nothing disappointing at all, fresh food, warm atmosphere and friendly owner who made us feel at home. Most smaller restaurants in the u.p. you get the "troll" treatment and the locals aren't so warm, It felt like southern hospitality in there. We try and make it up at least once a year to rock hunt in the kewinaw and will definitely stop here every visit we make! It was nice to do a little shopping after lunch in the beautifull little town of Marquette! She( the owner) also suggested a nearby beach to explore where we found a pleathera of colored beach glass and lake Superior Agates!!!!

Really great unique breakfast menu, and great cinnamon rolls. Love the merch and the Trenary Toast bag shirt. Very friendly service. It’s a bit pricey, but great quality for the money.

Great Morning Spot! Creative Items that really perk the taste buds. This is the UNIQUE twist we’re all craving. I think they are still a little “brand new” behind the counter with production. However, I have a trained eye for process so I’m hyper critical in that area. Their friendly, WELCOMING demeanor was super comforting. I got the special and a chino coffee that was prepared to perfection by the detail oriented Barista. A real joy to find this place.

I stopped at Trenary Toast for a coffee at the end of my Marquette tour. I'm glad I did. The coffee was good and the cinnamon bread they sell was excellent, especially with some cream cheese. The employees were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I'd definitely come here again.

This was a great breakfast. Cinnamon bread French toast was topnotch. Excellent coffee. I will be back everytime I'm in town.

An absolute blast. We ran into the establishment by chance, and loved their salmon sandwich (the lovely lox?). Flavorful, and with a nice spicy kick from the pepper jam. Also, their toasted bread with spices is quite nice and keeps for several days. Personally, we liked the cardamom one the most but none was bad.

Oh my god the food was incredible. The barista was super helpful in answering all the questions I had and my order was made very quickly.

I tried the squeaky cheese and it was wonderful! It was my first time trying the cheese as well as the cloudberry jam. They paired perfectly with the limps bread. Great service and atmosphere as well. Highly recommended!

Had a latte and some avocado toast. Both very delicious- the feta and dill pair nicely on the toast. The food came out quickly and the workers were friendly!

Such a cute place with delicious breakfast food and super friendly service! A great place to stop for a coffee, biscuits and breakfast, all so yummy!
