Ford's Fish Shack Ashburn

Phenomenal! The ultimate seafood experience, which goes a long way being from New England. My first time trying a fried lobster tail, and it exceeded my expectations. All the food was lightly fried, seasoned and fresh. Highly recommended!

Fords has been one of our “go to” seafood restaurant for over 10 years. I wasn’t able to get food photos this time, but got photos of the seating & outside area.

Their Fish & Chips are the best! Fords is hands down the greatest of all the places I’ve been to for Fish & Chips. They are tender and fried to perfection. I take a bite and say “oh my gosh, delicious.” Almost like a melt in your mouth euphoria.

We love their cornbread little muffins, they come with a whipped butter and together they are perfect to have prior to the entree arriving.

My mother-in-law loves, loves, loves their Mussels (and the fried oyster/shrimp basket). My father in-law loves the Calamari (and the Salmon dish). They drive up from Stafford, VA specifically to order these dishes.

Request to Fords, please try to perfect the green beans that come with the Salmon dish, the green beans “were edible”, but could have been cooked a little longer.

I’ve tried the New England Cod only at the South Riding location (which is now closed until they reopen at a new location), the Cod is fabulous, but struggle with their green beans, they are typically undercooked with this dish.

We ordered the Rocket Shrimp which was good and the green beans were cooked well with this dish.

Overall, 100% love this place. Thanks to Fords and look forward to their Chantilly location opening up in 2024!

The food was great. I was not a fan of fish and chips before, but this place changed my mind completely. The dish was delicious and now I’m converted 😁. Second time we went there my husband had a lobster roll, which was delicious as well. That’s the place to go for delicious food, very nice service and a good atmosphere. If it wasn’t ways from us we’d go there more often.

We ordered clam chowder, fish and chips, blackened scallops with penne pasta, and blueberry lemonade - all were excellent.

The clam chowder had spicy crackers instead of the traditional oyster crackers so an interesting twist on that. The fish in the fish and chips was high quality and had a delicious light crispy coating. We substituted sweet potato fries for the chips to have a different take on the dish. The scallops were as good as we’ve had and the sauce with that dish was quite good — for us the cilantro enhanced the flavor nicely. The lemonade with blueberries and mint made for a refreshing finish to the meal (we were served water as well without asking).

The two of us got there at about 6:45 on a Monday evening, were seated right away and the service was efficient — faster that most places we’ve eaten. We also sat outside with perfect weather, which made the experience even better.

We've always liked Fords, and over the years they've gotten better. They were a solid 4, now are flirting with 5 stars. We'd been out and I suggested happy hour. We had gift cards for 2 places and picked Ford's. I had their fish and chips, my wife had a few oysters, then their fried Ipswich clams and scallops. We each had a good draft with a Jameson's, because... Friday. We sat at the bar and service was good. We should do that more often.

The food is fairly tasty and a good value for the price point. It's actually better than one would think by the looks of the place. There are many items that are fairly tasty. The short smoked salmon is always a hit. The fried lobster tails, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos are yummy bets as well. For appetizers, the angry mussels, lobster bisque, and wicked pissahs are great picks (especially during happy hour). Service is more good than bad. The to-go process could be better, and curbside is not really a thing.

I'm a native Oklahoman and as such, I generally don't trust sea food but visiting a friend, he suggested this place for AUTHENTIC new England seafood. I got the Firecracker shrimp to start and the fish and chips as my main. The shrimp were amazing! Butterflied and topped with a sweet and spicy sauce and served with a nice cool slaw. The fish and chips were STELLAR. I am not joking at all when I say I had no idea that fish could be this tender and flaky! The batter was perfect and crispy, and the fish was so flavorful! Service was fast and friendly and the place was decorated well and nice and warm. Great dinner on a cold, rainy night in the DC Metro.

Great atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic food. The lobster was the best I've ever had, and my husband and I devoured the mixed berry shortcake.

Heard a lot of good things about this place, and finally decided to go. Oysters are on point and flavorful. The food was great, however, the service was a little slow. I would recommend it and will come back.

I really enjoyed our time here and thought the food was outstanding. The servers were kind and prompt and the staff had a quick solution for us when we had a seating problem.

Everything is always great when we visit Fords. Today we visited the Ashburn location and everything was amazing. Food is always great quality and the service was excellent. We are big calamari lovers and absolutely love fords calamari. Highly recommend to any seafood lovers.

Fords Fish Shack had fresh and tasty seafood. My friends ordered the oysters and said they were fresh, I sampled the crab cake and it was flavorful and had a good meat to breading ratio. The shrimp cocktail was awesome with large jumbo shrimp, lobster Tails were delicious and the drawn butter perfect! Would definitely visit again and would recommend to others.

Perfect in every way! From the way I was greeted to being shown around the place… Maggie was my server and she helped guide me through so many great looking options. The menus is certainly NOT your Cookie Cutter standard fair. I will be going back soon and bringing friends!

It was our first visit & we loved it! Our table had steamed shrimp, fried shrimp, scallops, fish & chips & fabulous corn muffins with maple butter. Food was delicious & Sophia took great care of us. We do not live near a Ford's, but we will drive an hour to get to one!!

Always have a great experience at Ford's, they're food is amazing. Seasoned just right, portions are not huge but you get full. It's our go to lunch date spot! The Calimari is a must! The sauce on it just makes it even better, they are cooked perfectly everytime.

This place is worth every cent. The food was amazing. The flavoring was on point. The seafood was fresh. The service was fantastic. Our first visit here and wont be the last.

The food here is so fresh, seasoned, flavorful, cooked to almost perfection. I love it! The Cod Entree is my favorite, but everything, everything is delicious! Chef & staff outstanding!

Always good. Local Food & service is consistently outstanding! Everything on the menu is very good. A local favorite. Nonetheless if you enjoy seafood Ford's in Ashburn is a competitive contender among the best in the DMV area. Check it out sometime.

Always a treat when I visit Northern Virginia from 757 Hampton Roads area because my mom and dad, who our regulars at this Ford's location, treat me, my wife and kid there. Made reservations for a party of 5 using Google Maps and when we arrived, we we're seated immediately. Server and staff members where 5 🌟's. Drinks and appetizers were swift. 2lbs of Peel and Eat Steamed Shrimp 🍤. Then ordered our dinner selections and all the food tasted amazing. I tried the North Pacific Cod entrée with broccolini. Definitely recommend. Definitely will be returning. The owner even spoke to us before we got up to leave. Check them out. All the way from the 757.
