The Original Sunrise Cafe

A breakfast just like Mom used to cook! We came here after an early morning meeting and what a great breakfast. The atmosphere is 'old home' and the staff was very welcoming. I especially liked all of the coffee mugs in the cubby holes for their 'regulars'. I had a great omelet with a side of biscuits & gravy - the gravy was very tasty. My wife had special tortillas with feta cheese. This is a great hometown place to have a comforting meal.

They have some of the best breakfast around! My family and I love getting breakfast from here, it's always very good. Today we ordered breakfast, and it came out perfect. Everything was made very quickly and wrapped neatly. The chef's and staff are great. Thank you sunrise!

My hubby and I went to Sunrise Cafe today. What a cute place. It's like stepping back in history. The food was fantastic and our waiter Manny was so helpful and kind. We will absolutely come back again. They offer a good meal with lots of selections and prices are good. Our breakfast for two was $30.00. The helping are huge so you get what you pay for and the food is delicious.

Best breakfast place in downtown meridian. I have been going here since I was 5 years old. I used to get cinnamon rolls every day as a kid. You can't go wrong with their cinnamon rolls. Plus it has remained affordable. My wife always gets their bargain breakfast which offers a great deal. It can get busy on the weekends so be prepared for that.

Going to the Sunrise Cafe will require waiting because of the crowd of people. It’s worth the wait and of breakfast choice. Plates are generous portions, thick sliced sour dough bread and the home fried potatoes are slightly spicy which I liked. Service was quick and plenty of servers and cooks. Definitely would recommend.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere inside the cafe had a great vibe too.

Quick seating but very busy…. Lots of happy customers having a great time. The food was awesome! Our party of 8 were all satisfied and the amount of food will satisfy anyone. Great time, we’ll be back! Oh, yeah, be careful, the cinnamon roll is seriously a full plate

Awesome choice for our family! Restaurant was clean and tidy, our waitress was prompt and confident and kept great care of us. I appreciate her stellar communication skills, I felt like she genuinely cared about the quality of our experience.

Sunrise Cafe is my favorite cafe. And they finally finally, got my eggs right. This original Cafe Cooks the food better than the others. And that's why we had to wait to eat forever but it's still worth it

My boyfriend and I were VERY impressed with this diner when we came to visit loved ones. I was skeptical at first because the outside is very quaint and modern (thought it'd be some sort of coffee shop) but the moment we walked through the doors we knew we were going to have a good time.

The menu has tons of variety, from gluten-free options to burgers to classic pancake combos, you are bound to find something you enjoy.

I got the Farmers platter and my boyfriend got the French toast with bacon (they give you FOUR generous strips!!!) and eggs. Our food was so lovely that it didn't even cross my mind to take pictures until we were about halfway through. With my plate I had the option of toast, a biscuit, a cinnamon roll, a scone, a blueberry muffin or a banana nut muffin. Most breakfast plates had that list of options. My toast (which was super thick and yummy) came with this amaaaazing rhubarb jam.

The staff was lovely to us. There were many regular diners there when we went. The restaurant was very clean and very homey. The prices were awesome, I think we ended up paying something like 20 dollars before tax and tip. The portions were perfect. I will definitely be going here next time I am in town.

Fantastic breakfast dinner in meridian! The food is always more than enough for one person so I usually split it with my friend Terri. Also a good left over option. Great service , and you can tell the regulars who come in by the way they are greeted at the door 🌱

I have been going to this place since I was 16 years old... maybe younger.....I am almost 50 now. This is not a modern place and can feel outdated. I can tell you that the people, service, and food are not. It makes me happy that I can arrive before open, get a cup of Joe, and be greeted by a stranger with a friendly "morning." It feels so good to still have this in so many ways. The food is not going to blow you away but is definitely good and well portioned. Its wholesome. The environment has always been to take care of the customers as they always make me feel at home while adjusting to my food preferences without question. The Sunrise Cafe are honest people who still have a small town culture. Anytime I travel back to my heritage, they will get my patronage. I truly hope it never changes and I can write this same thing when I'm 100. Establishments like this are a dying breed.

01/2023. OK, just dropped in for breakfast and was dazzled once again. I tried the chorizo omelette and a quarter biscuit and gravy. Not to mention all I can sip coffee. Once again, a fabulous experience with super service & delicious food. You’ve gotta try it check out these photos.

Great experience! Yummy food and coffee. Our hostess Alexis greeted us with a smile and was kind and welcoming even though we arrived at a busy time. Our waitress Ana was very sweet. She was friendly and attentive. Ana kept our coffee cups full. She was even kind enough to accommodate our request for whip cream on our coffee which made my day. Thank you Ana for your recommendation of the The Wild Chorizo Omelet. It was delicious! We will be back.

Amazing breakfast and service. Quick with refills and kitchen on a Saturday was extremely quick to get the food out. Awesome experience!

Great staff & delicious food. The menu options alone will blow your mind. Most breakfast plates come with 7 choices to pick from. The bacon & Idaho potatoes are fantastic. 2nd time in 5 days I've been here, & I'll be back. Our server Emily was sweet & attentive. We never ran out of coffee.

Our server Misty was so nice. Food is good. Service is wonderful. Great place to have a nice breakfast with your family.
