California Mexican Food | Boise

Love this place. The food is delicious, I haven't had carne asada fries like these since I moved from California, and this is exactly what I wanted. The salsa bar is great as they have a variety to choose from mild green salsa to really spicy habanero. Love the horchata as well, and the prices are very affordable.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the food and portion sizes here and especially for the price! BUT their service isn't that great and the older lady that sometimes works the counter is SUPER rude. I had a coworker that was waiting for her meal last out of the rest of my group and the lady accused her of trying to steal an order.
Even though my coworker had a receipt. Then she responded rudely and told her she's going to have to wait for them to make her order. Which was another 20 minutes! Other than that the food is great just wish the customer service was better.

Friendly staff, the new quesabirria tacos are amazing! Fresh food, I take my friends and family here often.

Updating my review, I decided to give them another chance. I had the carne asada fries and it is so good! The portions are really generous. You guys have really improved since last time. Will come back

Amazing! Great food great prices! The burritos and tacos are larger than anywhere else and their prices are 2-3 dollars cheaper on everything! Their fresh salsa bar is always stocked with 6 different salsas and your classic pickled jalapenos and carrots. It's always clean and the staff are diligent and hard working. Did I mention their tortillas are thin and crispy and fully loaded! They even offer complimentary hot coffee in the mornings. Try this place if you haven't already you won't regret it! I'll update this post with photos when I eat there again tomorrow! That's three times in 2 days for me! Yummm!

So so good. Great tasting food at a great price. Today I had a shredded pork carnitas burrito and it was AMAZING. It was good sized, tasted great and was only $5.85. Most of their competitors are 8 to 10 bucks for a similar burrito.

Chicken taco salads are amazing

Went here again. This is becoming one of my favorite places to go. I had a delicious chicken salad in a crunchy shell and a huge plate with two Chili Relanos all for only 11 bucks. Where can you go and get this good of food for this low price.

Absolutely top of my list

We’ve been looking for good Mexican food in Boise & were quite surprised with how good this place is! We’ve passed it many times and decided to finally give it a try. We got the quesabirria taco, a burrito, and the super nachos to try. The portion sizes were HUGE & everything was so good. Highly recommend trying this place! This is going to end up being a regular food spot for us.

Whoever gave a bad review is an absolute liar I just got a burrito and 3 different tacos for 18 bucks and a large water they gave to me with ice for free. This food is far better than chipotle or whatever. It's gas

First time trying this place. Food tasted good! It kinda gave me a Beto's vibe, which I like too, so that was ok!
I had #13 with flour tortillas (which were huge) and wanted to try the tots. Tots were hot and crispy and it all tasted great.

After being out of the state for a few years, got burritos today and they gave us LIFE! Soooo good! Fresh, sure you wait a little, but it was totally worth it. Didn’t feel sick after eating. Also, price is on point for the amount of food you get.

I love this place. It's inexpensive, the food is great, the portion sizes are large and you get your bang for your buck no matter what you get and to top that all off. It's open 24 hours! I'm never waiting long for food and their always happy to help with anything I may have a slight problem with. It's definitely worth checking out!

Great place to eat, expect a long line in the drive through, many peoples in the lobby, amazing food, decent fast service, ton a options highly recommend

First time here. Ordered a combo. Chicken Tortilla meal , very tasty with chicken, Guac, sour cream , green pepper, rice, refried beans.all comes on plate with 2 huge Tortillas . Another order was a beef torta which my husband said was very good. They offer a salsa bar with different salsa, carrots and cucumbers. Offer free coffee as well.

This place has been hit or miss over the years. I think it depends on who's working the day you visit. I've had great customer service and terrible customer service. Actually was scolded once while preparing my own sauce packets. A worker came over and rudely said hey read the the sign. After counting them and realizing she was wrong she did not apologize but continued to berate me still insisting that I had too many. It was ridiculous. They were out of carrots but after that scolding I was afraid to request a few carrots. I could go on about the carrot fiasco but I think I made my point. Just hope you visit when the A team is working. To be fair the scolding was a few months back and my last experience was great! Dined in late night. The free coffee is a nice addition. Staff was friendly and food was great!. Giving service 4 out of 5 based on overall average.

This is GREAT Mexican fast food: just meat and tortillas. Don't expect lots of fresh veggies, unless you like spicy carrots and guacamole. This place usually pretty busy, including Mexican immigrants and fire fighters, which is always a good sign.

These guys are awesome! They were very friendly on the phone! We placed an order for 20 breakfast burritos 3 hours before we needed to pick them up. We had asked for all the salsa on the side so they wouldn’t get soggy. They were ready in time, hot, and lots of salsa on the side 😁 Will definitely order for a group again! Thanks CMF crew!!!

This place did not disappoint. The name gives off some generic Mexican food place but this is a lot better than you'd expect. I personally got the chicken asado burrito and it was a good size and a pretty decent price, especially compared to other Mexican restaurants. There's a salsa bar which has a nice variety of types and flavors. If anything it'd be nice to have some salsas made with other peppers like serrano. You could argue it's more expensive than taco bell or del taco but you get more for your buck here. Would come again

This was my first visit to try California Mexican food. I had a chicken taco salad & a chicken burrito. The portion sizes were very generous, & the prices were lower than what I'd expected. I rated the food a 4 only because these particular selections were too spicy for me. I will still go back & try other menu items! 🙂

Los Betos is BEAT. Inexpensive. Fresh. Flavorful.

They’re on point in the yum department. Everything was wonderful- kind staff, timely service, authentic cuisine, clean restaurant, tasty food, great cost and awesome salads bar.

Open 24 hours and on Door Dash, they’re authentic Mexican fast food. Drive through was speedy for handmade dishes.

Salsa bar has many options and they’re very flavorful. It’s on a refrigerated bank so it’s fresh.

Highly recommended for those who like Betos because they’re comparable yet superior.

If you like Robertos etc you will love this place. Best carne asada burrito in Idaho. I love this place oh so much. Enjoy the pic of my half eaten plate. Btw... This place is better than Los Betos.
