Cute small town restaurant with delicious homemade food! The portions are just right and it’s a cozy environment that makes you feel right at home. The prices are very reasonable. Dewy and Jada are super sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend trying the quiche. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a lovely, quiet lunch here. Our server, Brianna, was great. Absolutely incredible parfaits! I had 2! Great French press coffee. My sister had the quiche and said it was the best of her life. She also ordered a cherry coke, which they serve with cherries in it. Nice touch. My aunt had gluten-free waffles and chamomile tea. She said the waffles were delicious, and the tea was good. Nice clean bathrooms. They even provide flossers, hair ties, diapers, and organic tampons! I loved their cute sign on the bathroom door. We had a good laugh about it. Street parking was simple enough. They also have a parking lot, but I didn't see it at first, so I missed the turn.

Loved this place for brunch, loved they served coffee in a fresh french press at the table. Breakfast nachos to die for.... I was so upset I got full and couldn't eat anymore.

Look forward to going back and try the lunch and dinner menus! 💖

Update: Lots of flatbreads. Ribs and drumsticks are smoked to perfection. Pies are still great. Add brisket. On flatbread or mac&cheese it is awesome. Caprese salid was crisp and fresh, good balsamic. The chocolate cream pie is a thick mousse, amazing.

Great food, like gourmet quality. Love the decor and I even notice a faint smell of the old factory-- very cool.
The old games are fun too.
Stuffed french toast were amazing and nacho breakfast plate also great.
The Togo container was paper andthe straws were big pieces of hay!

Jada and Dewey are two of the best people you will ever meet. The quality of the food and cocktails reflects that inner light. It is a beautiful spot for a quiet dining experience.

Nice little spot in Barre. The server was really nice. The chili before the meal was fantastic. I got a BBQ Chicken and Red Onions Flatbread, and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious.

Lovely food and people! Unique menu too. Totally recommend coming in on a Sunday for brunch if you have a chance.

Just tried their Shepherds Pie, Cherry Pie, Cheeseburger Pie, and Quiche over the last week or so end can’t say enough that I’m so thrilled by this place. They have new foods on the way that I’m excited to try and their mixed drinks are generous! The atmosphere (and AC) makes this place my favorite to go to from now on.

Found this diamond on a trip to Agronomy this weekend. Owners are amazing, the food delicious and inventive. Can't wait to go back, just wish it was in my backyard!!

Very nice place definitely makes you feel being back at home with mom and dad cooking ya dinner and relaxing catching up.

I've been wanting to check this place out for some time. But as someone with Celiac disease, I'm often hesitant to try new places. Today we finally made a visit and it did not disappoint! The owners were absolutely amazing 👏 They were also super kid friendly (3yo & 5yo) and accommodating. They have a couple shelves with games and puzzles that can be played too. We each ordered the Gluten and Dairy Free Zucchini Brown Sugar muffin (huge!), and shared Beef Nachos. I've been Gluten Free for nearly 8 years and that was the best muffin I've had in all those years 🤤 The nachos came with fresh made salsa that was fantastic👌. And for the coffee people, French Press Coffee 😍☕ We're already planning to return to Sunday Brunch!!

Cute small family run business with amazing food. Love the Flatbread. It's a light healthier alternative to the other local pizza options. The brownie with peppermint ice cream is absolutely amazing. Both cocktails I had were delicious! 1st choice in town for food! Can't wait to try Sunday brunch!

Stop eating the cherry pie! Last week I got the last piece and today they are all out. Someone else ate my piece! LOL. Seriously, their cherry pie is really good. Actually, everything is really good. We’ve been coming here every Friday for the last few weeks and really enjoy it. Finally a local place we can eat (and drink) at every Friday! Almost everything is made in house, including; pies, quiches, soups, salad dressings, salsa, pretzel bites & assorted baked goods.
If you’ve not been here yet, you should stop in and eat.

My wife and I have been in Barre for just about 2 years. Dewey and Jada are hands down the best owners, chefs and overall customer focused individuals. They have made us feel as though we're part of the family. Always a nice time here, please pay no mind to some of these other comments. Come and experience the Cafe On The Common for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped in twice, once for coffee and the next day for pie along with another coffee. I'm not really a pie fan but was very pleasantly surprised with the salted caramel apple pie. Very pleasant owner/operators and nice atmosphere.

My mother and I both loved our lunches. She got a quiche and I got a savory personal-sized zucchini pie. The pie was loaded with zucchini, cheese, pork, and beef. Delicious and very filling! The crust was really good, too. Very flaky. Each meal came with a nice side salad with a mix of greens and a couple of grape tomatoes. We also got a whole pie to go, the special of the day--pear custard. It was almost like a giant tart or maybe like a Dutch baby wrapped around poached pears & custard...any way you slice, though, it was really yummy 😋

First visit. The place is nice and cozy inside with a variety of games to play while you wait for your meal. I had the shiitake mushroom soup. There were lots of mushrooms for sure but the flavors of the creamy broth were splendid. I’m not great at describing flavors but this is most definitely unforgettable in a good way. I can’t wait to go back to try another one of their soups of the day. We also had the zucchini pie which was delicious and the crust was cooked to perfection. Oh. There was also a person playing gentle guitar music as we ate. A nice friendly vibe and a lovely place to sit for a spell

We were visiting Barre, MA for the day from CT and stumbled upon Cafe on the Commons. What a treasure to find on a crisp autumn day! Inside was cozy and welcoming. We chose a flatbread with mouth-watering short rib topping, a hot bowl of potato soup topped with the same shredded short-rib and cheese (just enough to make it tasty, not overdone), and also ordered the savory turkey dinner pie. For dessert I ate the best cherry pie I've ever had,. My husband had the apple pie and said it was great. And the bite I stole of my daughter's cheesecake was delicious.
I would highly recommend a meal here. I believe they even have entertainment at night. If we lived in the area, this would be a regular hangout for us. Highly recommend.
