Avalon Cafe and Kitchen Ann Arbor

The service was fabulous. My dining partner said he has had service before from our same server and that she has been working there for about eight years. I find that amazing in this day and time.
The menu is extremely diverse. They are a breakfast, brunch, lunch restaurant only their menu covers all three!
You can get anything from avocado toast, to oatmeal, to specialty crafted sandwiches and some delicious pancakes and French toast .
The coffee was great too. My dining partner had an orange juice which was freshly squeezed.
If you’re in Ann Arbor in the downtown area, stop in to the Avalon for absolutely exquisite service and food that is stellar!!!

Decent spot for a coffee within one of Downtown Ann Arbor’s most scenic spots. Service was pretty good and the coffee itself was great. Can’t really ask for much more.

Food is fantastic. A modern menu with items from avocado toast to brioche French toast to biscuits and mushroom gravy. Everything was flavorful, filling, and well priced.

A few varied flavored coffee drinks on the menu. The matcha latte was very matcha flavored. Brunch appropriate cocktails were available.

Serving staff were happy to let us stay and chat after we'd finished our meal (but it wasn't the heart of the brunch rush.)

Great food! We enjoyed the Mushroom Burger, the Roasted Veggie Bowl (with Tofu), the blueberry pancakes from the kids menu, the mushroom gravy, and the potato cakes.

The Avocado toast plated well but wasn't as tasty (the avocado was bland and the toast had the overpowering bitter taste of olive oil) but everything else was top notch. Would highly recommend going to Avalon. Also, the staff was super polite and great hosts :)

Such amazing food and good service. We loved the decor and had a great time here. I would everything we had again. The onion jam on the burger is so good.

Made a reservation for brunch before Ann Arbor Pride - we enjoyed delicious food and attentive service, and we were perfectly positioned to join the festivities when we finished our meal.

Had an amazing brunch with my crew! my gf and i ordered vegan & our friend got the soft scramble. Bread is amazing, avocados are perfect, potatoes are delicious... Their coffee is also fantastic! perfect brunch spot- literally drove 2 hours just to go here & will def come back.

Love this place! Delicious food made with really good ingredients. I've had the French toast, pancakes and potato taco - would order all of them again. The best value is the bakery sampler, definitely recommend splitting one for the table! It goes well with their great selection of innovative coffee drinks.

This place has good service, with many vegetarian options, and it is PET friendly, comfortable, the price is between 15-20 dollars depending on the drinks you have there

Wow. This place is fantastic! The service was great, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of unique, tasty items on the menu. I honestly had a hard time deciding what I should get! I will definitely be back! There was a little bit of a wait, but at a place like that, I understand why! Definitely check this place out !!!

Visiting a friend and got breakfast here while in town. It’s a quaint cafe with a great breakfast menu. I got the potatoe tacos and i was pleasantly surprised to what i was served. a unique take on breakfast tacos, and were very tasty ! i loved the goat cheese addition and the flavors from the radish were delicious !! my partner got eggs benedict and a matcha and enjoyed them both ! our waiter was very kind as well. overall, would recommend for breakfast.

We found this cafe while walking through downtown and trying to find a nice place to eat, and I am beyond glad that we stopped here! The service here was absolutely incredible! I unfortunately didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was training during our visit. She was wonderful to us! She was very attentive and extremely pleasant to talk to. The food and drinks were also amazing! I got the lavender lemonade and the may spring toast, and they were both delicious! Not only did they come out quickly, but they were also very reasonably priced. The overall atmosphere of this cafe was just so wonderful and comforting. I especially appreciated that they brought us water before we even ordered. We don’t live in the area, but I wouldn’t be above driving all the way to Ann Arbor just to eat here again! Thank you!! :)

One of the best places to have brunch in Ann Arbor. It is popular, so be ready to wait for a little if you go during the weekend at busy times. It's not an expensive place and everything we ordered was delicious

Wonderful restaurant with absolutely delicious food everything on the menu is fresh and unique.

A really spectacular interior design on the popular corner of Liberty and Fourth in Downtown Ann Arbor. A very welcoming host sat me down for breakfast on a Hot Friday morning. The menus came and the selection was adequate.I ordered a salmon omelet, Whole wheat toast and vegetarian sausage, came with house-made potatoes. When the order came I was completely overwhelmed! The presentation was visually spectacular! Only to be out done by preparation, which was eclipsed by a flavorful onslaught! To my surprise there was a small salad on the plate with a light dressing. The toast came with a homemade berry preserve that complemented The thick cut whole wheat toast, which in itself could’ve been a meal it was so filling. I typically do not take boxes home. Today, I could not help myself! Guess what? I had the most delicious dinner! I could’ve cared less that I had it for breakfast! The service here was impeccable! Long and short, you get the point! Don’t miss out!

We visited this restaurant for breakfast on Saturday on a short thanksgiving trip. We ordered the smoked salmon omelet and a veggie breakfast quesadilla. They were both very tasty and the portions were generous. For the omelet they had broiled potatoes and and a salad as a side which made it just the right amount of food and not too heavy for a breakfast. They had a good amount of vegetarian and pescatarian options.

I just had the best pumpkin spice latte (PSL) in the world here! Believe me when I say this - I really know my PSLs. I tried all that I encountered, gotta be from more than 100 different stores.
But this place, it has the best PSL, hands down. Not sure how but the flavor and spices just work so well.

The only disappointing feature about Avalon Cafe and Kitchen is that it is not close enough to me to return here often enough.

I wanted to try so many things on the menu, and they had great options for various dietary restrictions.

Delightful surprise. We were looking for a restaurant that appeared busy and stumbled upon Avalon. Got a table inside near the open air window. Being vegetarian, my husband and I shared the Impossible Burger. Very filling. Half a sandwich was more than enough. The spicy sauce and crisp lettuce really complimented the burger. Came with seasoned fries. I didn’t care for the iced organic pineapple green tea. Didn’t have much flavor. Nice casual ambiance. Great customer service. Seating inside or outside.

The ambiance of the place is awesome. It has different areas to fit your fancy: whether you are coming in to sit down and enjoy a meal, sit down in the lounge area have a beer or a coffee, or coming by for a sandwich or Salad to go, there's also a bar to sit at. Food is unique and great! The beer and wine choices are not extentsive, but good. Service and staff are welcoming and attentive. We ordered the flash fried cauliflower and the bacon jam and herbed ricotta. Delicous
