The owner was working when I came in and you could tell that she's passionate about coffee. I got the mocha and it was delicious, not too sweet and it wasn't scalding hot. Definitely worth a trip to the bank!

I have travelled across the globe and being a coffee lover, I have had coffee in every country I've been to. I can honestly and enthusiastically say this was my favorite coffee shop Ive ever been to. It has also become my fondest "coffee memory"...Let me tell you about it...

The Coffee: World Renowned. The mocha latte is made from a house-made chocolate ganache that consists of 70% pure cacao bean and hot water...no fake "chocolate" syrup here...Its made with a double shot of espresso that is made from espresso beans that lie in the top 1% in the world! Second, we tried the Costa Rican pour-over coffee and it was so refreshing to watch the owner, Lowis, actually pour the coffee through a traditional coffee loop like you would see in Latin America. I'm convinced that you can't go wrong with any menu choice!

The Atmosphere: Perfectly Iowa. First, the atmosphere is very unique because its half coffee shop, half bank. The design of the building is a perfect melt of modern and primitive that really reflects the 21st century business ideals of rural Iowa along with the country warmness that Iowa is known for. After you get your coffee, you can pull up a chair to the huge communal table and comfortably engage in a conversation with one of thelocal Iowans who is bound to be sitting there.

The Location: Historic Americana. Amana, Iowa was settled by a community of "breakaway" Lutheran German reformers who settled the area in hopes of creating a religious utopia for themselves. They constructed the village of Amana complete with a central church, communal farms, etc. Today, the town bustles with explorers and shoppers who come to tour the community's historical attractions or to buy fudge, wool textiles, and of course...a cup of Neuhaus Kaffee.

The Service: Unforgettable. Not only is the owner, Lowis, one of the kindest individuals I've encountered, she is also passionate about her coffee. As she told us in her own words, every cup is special. When you arrive, you are not just another customer. You are an opportunity to become a new friend and share a memorable conversation over the cup of coffee that is created just for you. During our time, we talked with Lowis, her husband, and the wonderful bank teller, Lisa, for nearly an hour, and enjoyed every minute. My whole trip to IA was worth it just because of them. Because of this shop, I can now say that I have friends in Amana, Iowa.

God bless this business and everyone that patronizes it! Give it a shot...you won't regret it!!!

Great place if you love your coffee! Good selection, very friendly staff, comfortable seating area. Wish we had time to explore the town and surrounding area.

The bad thing about this place is it raises your expectations for future coffee that other businesses can't dream of replicating. 100% recommend and they have my business for sure!
