I love this spot and have for YEARS! They’ve been in town for longer than I can remember, and have the best hot sub (Italian) that I’ve ever had. It literally sets the bar for all other places. All of the sides are amazing and made in house. Best potato salad I’ve ever had. The coleslaw is amazing and the macaroni salad is great too. She has cold beer in the cooler and the flavorful dirty kettle chips in there! It’s ten times better than any fast food place and the prices are reasonable especially if you pay with cash!

I love Dixie Deli’s chicken salad. It has amazing flavor, lasts a while if you decide to get pounds of it for a long work week, and it’s made fresh. I forgot to call and ask to see if they would have some available, so I messaged Dixie Deli, through messenger and the owner Grace, responded almost immediately and said she can see if she can get the items needed to make it the next day. Since she is the kind woman she is, she took the time to make a fresh batch of chicken salad in a short notice for me and others to enjoy. I recommend others to try Dixie Deli’s chicken salad and sandwiches, because you will not be disappointed. The owner Grace, is sweet, amazing, and always has been kind to me every-time I go into her restaurant.

I have no idea why some of the reviews here complain about customer service, price, or size. I placed a phone order yesterday. I can't eat pork products, so I asked for a turkey hoagie and they were more than accommodating. I was greeted kindly and had an incredibly friendly conversation with the young lady working there. Kind of wish I could have had a beer and chatted longer. Really pleasant experience. Lovely and clean interior. The sandwich itself was world-class. Really delicious, I was thoroughly impressed. The sharp provolone, bread, and hoagie peppers were of high quality. It was loaded with turkey and lasted me for two meals. I spend a lot of time eating hoagies in Pennsylvania and this might have beaten all of them to date. Ignore the bad reviews, try this place. I even posted pics in a hoagie group online and everyone agreed it looked amazing. The prices were more than reasonable, I thought. I do recommend calling ahead or getting there early as i was advised that they're only open until they run out of food.

The chicken salad sandwich turkey sub (hot sub) are my favorites. The restaurant is very clean. Always greeted when you enter the restaurant. Service is fast. A great place for lunch in town.

Best to call orders ahead. Hours are flexible when she opens and can be long wait. The hot subs and potato salad are my favs!

First visit to this small town deli and sandwich shop. Service was polite, friendly and quick. The "Hot Sub" was outstanding. Roll was fresh and a great combination of toasted crispness and soft chewy inside.
I don't often get the chance to stop and eat when I am out in this part of the state, but am glad I stopped in. I'd rather support a small local business than a chain any day.
I will be back!

I’m just here to say that the Dixie Deli has been a local mainstay for my entire life… I’m 37 years old born and raised here.. I have no clue who these “local guides” are but I have NEVER had a SINGLE bad experience with Dixie Deli!

Fav spot to eat in all of VA! We stop by here from Charleston SC just for the HOT SUB!

my favorite lunch is at the dixie deli, sweet people working on the inside. they have great options including a veggie sub. i had the hot sub, definitely recommend trying it with their potato salad. grace ann is always fun to talk to while waiting. i recommend dixie deli to anybody who is visiting the NNK!

We ordered the Turkey, ham, tomatoes, crisp bacon, cheese of choice and lettace. It was absolutely delicious. Meat comes from N.Y. We are new in town. Would order again.

We bought the Steak & Cheese sub and Italian sub both were delicious and serve with scoop of Cole slaw. Very nice people.
