It's definitely our favorite place to camp. We come from Yonkers, NY and this camp site is such a clam, beautiful place. It's also quite easy to get there too. It's the third time we come camping here. My family and I love it!! Highly recommend this place 100%.

This place is a gem and if your looking for a laid back, relaxing getaway.. this is it. Cabins are always clean and neat and the owners are awesome and very helpful. Many of the campsites are located right by the river and it’s a must see. The campgrounds have a pool and playground for kids and two fishing ponds for kids that love to fish and be in the outdoors.

I don't know why but I had such low expectations when I went there. I don't camp so I really expected a miserable experience. From the second I pulled in I was welcomed immediately, the landscaping was so incredibly beautifully natural. The owners, themselves welcomed me and gave me a private tour of grounds. I was in awe of how quite, clean and well kept everything was. I got a list of activities the campsite was hosting,as well as events going on locally. The bath house, restrooms and the private library were all immaculately kept. I give the owners so much credit because I asked a million questions, took so many photos and they graciously kept answering and humoring my nonsense. I highly recommend Russell Brook Campsites.

Background. I have been travelling and camping for over 10 years now. State campsites, private campgrounds, national forests, KOA.

I came to Roscoe to flyfish on the beaverkill and willomemoc. I stayed at Russell Brook campground for 13 days.

Great location off old rte. 17. Close to Roscoe and Livingston Falls. Spacious RV and tent sites surrounded by forest. Bathhouses immaculate. Friendly, attentive staff and competitive pricing. Beautiful brook running along the sites. I look forward to returning next year.

One of the best campgrounds I have visited.

What an awesome little gem this place is! I was there during the week with my son and it was fairly quiet. Booked one of the cabins by the brook. Had everything we needed. Electricity in the cabin with lights, water spicket right out front, firepit, and picnic table. Toilets and bathhouses were newly renovated and about 1 1/2 minute walk from the cabin. Staff was super friendly! We will surely be back!

With so many campgrounds being so full lately we were surprised to find this one with openings on relatively short notice. For May camping this place is fantastic. Our site was right on the brook and we had tons of room to spread out and set up how we like. The owners live on site and were very helpful. The store wasn't open for normal business hours yet but they were very accommodating and opened when we needed something. Just a few miles from a lovely hike to see waterfalls and two different lakes near the top of the mountain there's a lot to do even if you don't fish. Also near a brewery and a distillery there is plenty of good food and drink nearby. Bath house was clean. Sites aren't perfectly level but if this isn't your first trip out you've probably seen worse. Will stay here again.

UPDATE: spent this past weekend there and the bathrooms were updated! Love the new rustic look! Great update/upgrade! Still love the campground and we go at least 3 times a year. Thank you owners, Terry and Pat!

Great campground. The only thing is the bathrooms/showers. Theres a total of 4 throughout the grounds. The shower stalls are really tiny, the ceilings need to be replaced and the doors need to be realigned. Alot of the doors leave a decent sized gap and its a little uncomfortable. I will definitely keep visiting this campsite because the area and grounds are great, but I just wish they updated the restrooms/showers.

We’ve been coming here since the 80’s! Russell Brook Campsite is by far the nicest campsite around! The owners, Terri and Pat are absolutely wonderful and extremely accommodating no matter what you need! The whole campsite is GORGEOUS !! The store is adorable and literally has everything you’d need for camping. There’s LOTS for kids to do including a huge rec hall with all sorts of fun games! The bathrooms are always super clean and the grounds are always spotless! No other place we’d wanna be!
As for the Rincon Rider review,....I definitely think you got the WRONG campsite!

My husband and I first fell in love with this place 14 years ago. We were so young and had no kids yet. We came twice a year for a few years until our first child was born. Once he was out of diapers, (stinky diapers attract bears), we came back and had a blast. They had gotten new owners who improved things, but the integrity of this rustic campground remained fully intact--which is a great thing. We're tenters and love the feel of living in the wilderness with their beautiful spacious wooded sites, most of which overlook the stream that curves throughout the grounds. There's a little fishing pond which is great for kids, but for real fishing, the next town over has an awesome river to fish in. There is also an amazing hiking trail that used to have a road to get to. But if you're in good shape, you can walk up the steep road and than hike to the top of the mountain which is worth it. The pristine lake up there is out of this world, and probably makes for good fishing. We're thinking of coming back this year, as it's been several years since we've been. I hope our schedule permits it. I miss Russel Brook!

For anyone reading these reviews, trust me when I tell you that Russell Brook Campsite is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy the outdoors. The people there are friendly, gracious, and AWESOME! The bathhouses are cleaned daily, even twice a day and the store is almost always open!

I find it necessary to comment after Mark W's nasty review. I was camping the weekend your group was there and would like to share my experience. That weekend the owners served ice cream with all the toppings to the campers to celebrate it's 44th birthday! Have to say they must be doing something right to be in business for that many years! The smiles and laughter were heard throughout the grounds! I have been camping here since I was a child and now bring my children here. Never once have I been disappointed! The owners are kind and decent people who, in my opinion, gave your group many courtesies!

I have been camping at Russell Brook Campsites for the last 15 years. I love it! The staff are very nice and are as accommodating as possible. The grounds and bathrooms are well kept and my family always has a blast! There's so much stuff to do: pool, ponds to fish, an arcade, a playground, and they even do Hayrides on the weekend along with their activities that are planned for families for every weekend! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a fun filled family camping weekend!

I run a Classic Camper roundup for Apache Campers. We are a week away from out second year in a row at this campground. First, the owners are great people that are easy to work with and are always supportive of our needs. We have had trailers come in from all over the country for our fall get together, and we are always made to feel welcomed and appreciated. The facilities are modern, well tended and very clean. Any issue that might arise is addressed quickly and professionally. The Camp its self sits in a saddle between two mountains so it is very quiet, and very peaceful. I have been a camper all of my 51 years, and you'll be hard pressed to find a more reasonable, beautiful, well run campground anywhere. Our crowd is bigger this year, and I expect the same wonderful results that have allowed us a 70% repeat of our attendance!

I'm not too sure what Rincon rider is talking about because Russell Brook wasn't even opened 3 months ago. I think he has it confused with Roscoe Campsite which was opened 3 months ago. Been coming to Russell Brook for 3 years now and it is the best. The owners are great and friendly and will do anything to help you out. The campsite is beautiful and well maintained and is very family oriented. The bathhouses along with everything on the property is very very clean. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else!! Russell Brook is the best!

Started camping at RB in the 90's, transitioned to a trailer in the 2000's and never looked back.

Great place for families to spend quality time with their kids.

My two grew up there and are bothin their 20s now, and still love going!

Family owned and operated. Owners (Pat & Terri) always present to help with anything that is needed. Amazing property. The water flowing through the 'babbling brook' is so peaceful and soothing, it feels like heaven on earth. Highly recommended!! I can't wait to return !!

Safe and cozy location to camp with the family. They have a play ground for the kids along with a little camper that was transformed into an amazing little library. There is a nice hiking path that leads to a waterfall near by. We enjoyed it!!

We’ve been coming here every year since ‘00. Pretty much. The owners are awesome. And do a great job of planning fun activities (i.e. hay rides, corn shucking, wine & cheese). There is a community pool. And a very scenic steam. With trout, supposedly. They also have a recreation center with ping pong, billiards, some old arcade games. The general store is great, with all the camping supplies you forgot to bring. Private campsites at the end. Lots of summer-long rv renters here too.

We have been at Russell Brook Campsite for 5 years now and have visited this campground 27 years ago when my children were young. It was and still is the best place to camp with family and friends. The grounds have been nothing but clean including the bathrooms and as far as things to do they have weekend functions just about every weekend and it is always a good time. We looked at other campgrounds before coming here and nothing compared to what they have to offer. Every campground has its own policies and rules so if you don't agree with it then plain and simple don't stay, find a place that will tolerate your needs. Fortunately I was not there the weekend when this group of 80 were there, I would not want my grandchildren to think that it would be ok to be spiteful, rude or inconsiderate to anyone. We love Russell Brook Campsite!!!!!

My family and friends have been camping at Russell Brook fo 6 seasons now and we love it. The campground it quiet and clean. There is always something to do on the weekends and plenty of fish in the ponds to occupy the kids. If you are looking for a quiet campground to camp, then this is the place. If you need something to occupy every minute of your every day, then go to one of those commercial campgrounds and don't worry about the scenery.
