Raintree Animal Animal Hospital

I have an 8 year old English Bulldog who has been with me almost all day every day since he was 8 weeks. I have recently begun traveling frequently for work and have had to board him while I'm away. I hate having to leave him but know he's well cared for at Raintree. My dog can be a bit extra, but the staff is wonderful and patient with him. Their prices are affordable and it's comforting knowing he is already at the hospital if something were to happen. I also use them for veterinary services and have only had positive experiences with the staff at Raintree.

I've since moved 30 minutes away, but I'll continue bringing my pets here. The prices are reasonable, and they provide excellent medical care. Recently, my dog had his teeth cleaned and a cavity removed. The difference is remarkable—he's now bursting with energy and vitality. It seems he must have been in discomfort for some time because he hasn't been this happy since he was a pup. Additionally, they trimmed his toenails for just $1 while he was under anesthesia (normally $21). Thanks a lot!

We recently had to lay our 20 yr old pet to rest. Blind, deaf and no longer able to walk or eat. We took him to Raintree vet to put him asleep and provide the lethal injection. Our appointment was for 5:00 but had to wait in the general lobby for a few minutes with red eyes and tears running down faces until someone was able to get to us. This was the only portion of his final visit that was extremely uncomfortable. They eventually brought us to a nice room where we were able to spend our final moments with our beloved pet. They lit a candle and had placed a bowl of chocolates. We were greeted by a nurse who explained the final process gently with empathy. She took our pet out of the room to insert an IV for the injections and returned shortly. Then a female vet (don’t remember her name as we were grief stricken) came into the room explained the final process softly and with empathy. Both the nurse and Vet treated our pet and us with kindness and care which we really appreciated. They both spoke softly understanding our pain and completed the process after explaining again. The room in which they performed the final injection had a door that led directly outside which allowed us to avoid walking back through the reception area. We were thankful to be able to use a side door while grieving. The only part of the process that was flawed was waiting for someone to acknowledge our appointment and showing us to a private room. My suggestion would be to call and let them know we arrived for our appointment while still in the car. Even the payment was done in the private room so we didn’t have to go out to the counter waiting for a person to process our credit card payment.

Absolutely love this place and all the people here. Dr Placke has been our vet for over 10 years and even though we don’t live locally anymore, we bring our furbabies here to get their checkups, vaccinations and medications. They are always kind, always able to get us in for an appointment and have always been very caring towards our beloved furbabies.

About 1.5 years ago when we were in town visiting family, our 9 yr old Labrador Percy was attacked and mauled by a vicious Pitt Bull and needed to have surgery and round the clock care for 2 weeks following. This was the only place we’d even consider taking him and trusting with his care. They did an amazing job of taking care of him during that time while he began to heal and recover. He never was quite the same after the attack and we weren’t quite sure how much longer we’d have him with us. As a result of the attack he suffered severe trauma and developed severe anxiety. Almost exactly a year later, our beloved Percy passed away. We took him here and they cremated him for us. They also took prints of his nose and paws at our request. They were very caring and sympathetic for our loss.

When it was time for our male Miniature Schnauzer to be neutered, we brought him here when we were in town during December for the holidays. And we brought our female Border Pointer here to get spayed when we were in town visiting family this Spring. We trust them completely with any and all vet care. We would highly recommend this place for all your animal needs.

I used Raintree for my boarding needs. My dog has never been left with anyone. She came home happy as normal. I'll continue to use them to care for my baby while away!

Overall, good experience. Most of the staff are very friendly. This visit was a regular six month checkup. Check-in and check-out was simple and they take wireless pay (Samsung, Apple, etc). The only hang up is where their animal scale is located. It's stuffed in a corner and the three dogs, including mine, I witnessed struggled getting on the scale. The angle is weird and hard to get skittish dogs on it.
We've gone here for years and plan to return.

We take our dog here for boarding and grooming and they do an excellent job. Dog comes back happy to see us and the facility is well maintained.

We took both of our dogs here to get their teeth deep cleaned and it was a great experience!! It wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be and they did a great job.

Best place they really love your pets. Nothing fake. My dog passed away the love and kindness they showed me after was so real

They are fully staffed. I arrived at the office there was a line which spoke for its self. The care and compassion that was given to my dog who is part of my family and loved was unconditional. If you have any doubts about your provider, I promise you will find a peace of mind with service because they all really care!! Thank you rain tree !!!

I can't say enough good things about this clinic and their staff. Through one of the most difficult days, they were so kind, compassionate and patient as we brought in our Luna on an emergent basis, and made one of the toughest decisions we've ever faced. Dr. Placke and his team were so thorough and transparent through the whole process. The after care Luna received was top notch, she was treated as if she was one of their own. From the bottom of our hearts, we are beyond thankful. I would highly recommend Dr. Placke or Dr. Ellis and their team here at Raintree. Wonderful, caring place to bring your pets.

My family and I have been taking our pets here for over 10 years now and helped us say goodbye to two dogs. They've always been kind and helpful. Never have felt scammed or any negligence. Whether it's for boarding, check ups, or panic visits. Today I thought my dog was dying and was able to drop him off within the hour. He is OK! Somehow ate something he shouldnt had. Im glad I have a place I can trust for my animals.

Always very sweet to my dogs. They always explain fully what your options are and what they suggest you should do. Great animal hospital, better than two others I have gone to in Lee's Summit.

Great vet. Took our newly adopted cat here for a neuter. They were quick, well priced, and the staff is very friendly. We will continue to use them for for our furbabies

I have had many dogs for many years and this clinic, by far, is the most friendly , caring and informative vet office I have ever been to. My dog has many issues and they all take the time to explain everything so I am at ease when we leave. They also board my dog occasionally, I am very particular who I trust with her , I have absolutely no worries when she stays at this clinic. Best vet clinic 100% .

Staff is always courteous and friendly. They love what they do. Extremely compassionate to us during our last visit to facilitate our Bella across the rainbow bridge.

This is the first time I have taken a dog here and they have been kind and accommodating. You can tell they really care for the animals. The doctor is very intelligent and informative. All of the workers have been helpful and I would definitely trust my animals in their care!

I have been looking for a veterinary practice that aligns with the top quality care I believe my dogs deserve and had tried out several clinics before coming to Raintree, and I’m so grateful I did find them. My dogs are always excited to come for appointments because they feel the positive loving aura that comes from everyone, receptionists to techs to doctors. The level of care and diagnostics that come from the doctors is so heartwarming that I wish more human doctors emulated this kind of practice. I just moved to Kansas City near the plaza and all the vets around me were very expensive and didn’t seem to care about the problem I was having. My roommate and I brought in our 3 very sick kitties and the entire atmosphere and staff was so nice and charming! The visit itself made me feel like the staff knew what they were doing and they kept me up to date on what they were doing with my animals. This is the best vet I’ve ever been to and are extremely affordable. THEY ARE WORTH THE DRIVE!!! I will keep bringing my animals here and they have my business for as long as I live here. 10/10 have recommended to all my friends with animals and they love it too!
