Crispy crab deviled eggs: deliciously unique. They fry each one to attain a crispy outside coating that is crunchy - and a perfect balance of crab and egg make these memorable enough to ask for the recipe! It’s like somehow the perfect French fry was mated with the perfect deviled egg!
Speaking of fries - the fries with my husband’s burger were dark, crispy and just the way we like them. A rare thing these days
The burger is a little ordinary but solid and enjoyable.
Crab cakes are delish, but lack something to hold the crab cake together. Don’t get me wrong — the crab tastes great! Potatoes Anna come in the side and taste like scalloped potatoes (which I am a fan of) so all good there.
Highly recommended for a good dinner:)

Amazing vegan options here. If driving by within 100 miles it's worth it to swing by for the food, drinks, the customer service, and atmosphere. Had the Seitan Bao Buns, 10/10, full flavor. I hate vegan seafood, but the crab cake sandwich reversed my decision. Mac and cheese was better than average, could use a bit more flavor, but otherwise tastes like a creamy homemade meal. Every staff member we encountered was lovely and inviting. Eat outside, it's a great experience. Hopefully will return soon.

We have been to Berlin many times but our first visit to the Blacksmith. From the start, our server Adrian was outstanding. Adrian made great recommendations, and she was spot on. We loved the outside service, the great wheat beer selection, and the absolute best bread pudding for dessert. Lots of outstanding beer and food options. If you are in Berlin, check out Blacksmith.

Out of all the gems in town, there are a few that stand out, and the Blacksmith is one of them.
There’s a beautiful mix of creativity and local staples. The drinks and food are all phenomenal. You can’t go wrong with this caliber of quality and service.

Beautiful handcrafted cocktails from natural and locally sourced ingredients. Lovely seafood dishes and great service.

Came recommended from a friend local to the area, they hyped it up as one of their favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint. Right when you walk in the warm and atmosphere welcomes you. My friend and I sat at the bar and the bartender was a knowledgeable and very attentive. I had their Autumn Spice Bourbon Cocktail and it was very tasty, almost like a slightly sweeter version of an Old Fashioned. I had a bowl of the crab bisque to start and it really may be my favorite crab bisque I have ever eaten, it was full of crab meat and the soup had an amazing silky texture and rich delicious flavor. For my main I had the Steak Frites, it’s a classic that is hard to mess up, it was cooked perfectly and had fantastic flavor. My friend had the Shrimp and Grits and was raving about how amazing it was and how perfectly the grits were cooked. It doesn’t break the bank either, I would definitely recommend!

Blacksmith is a gem in the cute little town of Berlin, MD. The atmosphere and interior design was pleasant and relaxing. The service was outstanding! I mentioned that I really would like mint tea but that it was not on the menu. The waiter told me that he would be happy to make it special for me. It was so refreshing. The food was AMAZING! I had the Best Ever Veggie Burger with hand cut fries. Yummy! It was so good I dove in before I could take a picture of it.

Great find while on vacation. Outdoor seating is covered, so you can sit outside if it is raining. Drink menu is good, excellent bourbon drink selection. We had the small plate special (tuna) and I had the special (brunzini, clams and shrimp), my husband had the curry. There is not a kids menu but the cheese burger was enjoyed by our 9 yo. Out waiter was attentive without being intrusive. Very much loved our visit.

Flawless evening. Adrienne (sp?) was outstanding. The vegan crab cake is worth the trip alone.

vacationing in Berlin & saw that based off of past reviews, this was a vegetarian-friendly spot to check out! the atmosphere was eclectic & relaxing. I really appreciated the fresh food (blue cheese salad + veggie burger) as well as the cocktails (I tried the bees knees + spicy pomegranate margarita).

My husband wanted some sort of steak but not to spend a fortune. I wanted something light. This place shows up when searching restaurants in Berlin. It's eclectic, cool vibe, retro, great cocktails - I had a cucumber lime martini made with vodka but also having some vermouth and St. Germain and champagne - yum! See my salad info below. Kristen was our server, and she was friendly and helpful! We're in the area for 4 more days and will return for dinner one night. Highly recommend this place!

We were referred to the Blacksmith by the Sea & Garden B&B. It was our 22nd Anniversary and I must say the ambiance was modern with a cozy charm. The menu has something for everyone from vegan to surf and turf. That said, the food and presentation was 5 star restaurant quality and surprisingly so since it’s nestled in a small town. This unassuming gem brought us a meal that rated in the top three of the best meals we’ve ever had throughout our 22 years together. The drinks were unique and perfectly mixed. The Spicy Pomegranate was two flavors I’d never put together and yet very much enjoyed. My husband would give this place 10 stars if he could. It’s over two hours from our house, but we will likely be back. The price was on point and the food is rich!!

The staff is always friendly and helpful when deciding on food and drink choices. They are obviously well trained and enjoy working there. The food is beyond fresh and delicious. I love that there is a separate vegan/vegetarian menu. As a vegetarian, it makes me so happy that the chef recognizes not everyone is happy with just a salad! The vegetarian meals are creative and delicious.
The indoor decor is fun and eclectic. The outside porch area is beautiful with plants everywhere and beautifully decorated during the holidays. This will be your favorite, go to restaurant after your first visit. Thanks to Justine and her awesome staff...it is certainly our favorite restaurant.

Such an amazing place. The service is outstanding, the food is so deliciou and the atmosphere is just so enjoyable. Definitely recommend it you should visit and taste one of the greatest options of the menu!

Crab cakes are back! Best crab cake I have ever had in my life. My server, Peyton, was delightful company. The chef and the chefs Cooks do a fantabulous job. The emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and locally created beer is not lost on me. The menu is very interesting which makes it difficult to choose. Please don't order a hamburger at this place. Plenty of outdoor seating on front porch. Great restaurant highly recommended. On my next visit I will probably order the local rockfish and chips...

Delicious food and drinks, nice wait staff. This was such a cute find. I don't have a photo but the espresso martini was amazing and the Nashville chicken was very tasty. Our waitress was friendly.

1st time here but SO 👍 good. Will deff be coming back for more. Mattie was super amazing and I'm not sure who the other waitress was but OMG tysm for introducing me to the deep fried banana cheesecake. This may be our new spot when we go out to eat.

This place was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint. We had a cheese plate that had cheese. Several different kinds of nuts some drizzled with honey home made bread, grapes, orange slices and dates . And it was delicious. We then shared a crispy eggplant tower with a Boursin cheese a slowed simmer sauce and this was also great . And then we shared steak frites with fries and a balsamic vinegar drizzle and to finish it off we had a warm banana turnover with chocolate drizzle and wiped cream and coconut omg I wanted to lick the plate but took a look around and thought better of it . But if you are ever in Berlin Maryland definitely stop into the blacksmith. The service was excellent and the price was good . I will be back for sure .

The food portions are great, almost too much but who can leave a crabcake on a plate and my plate had 2 that were loaded on a cloud of deliciousness from heaven....swear it was that good!

Barbara was great and it's such a cozy restaurant you literally just want to sit there and reminisce with your company. We met two couples there and they were so sweet.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place!
We'll be back!!!!
