New Castle Tavern

Friendly service, the tavern hot brown and tavern pretzels with smoked gouda beer cheese and spicy bourbon mustard was awsome. I highly recommend New Castle Tavern!

Fish and chips are awsome. The chips are hand cut. Waitress was real nice. Even though it says Tavern on name, it is family friendly.

The owners are great people and very friendly regardless if you are a local or first timer. I went with a local that is a frequent visitor and the food is amazing our waitress was the best hands down. Definitely will be going back. I only wish I had purchased a t shirt while I was there.

Wonderful food with even better service. The general manager came over several times and talked to us. She's incredibly friendly and passionate about the business. We had the chili cheese fries, which were very good. I had the bourbon burger with onion rings and my friend had the Philly with the house made chips. My burger was fantastic and would rival anything in Louisville. The ingredients are first class, including the local beef which is from New Castle. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed.

Great place and great food! The staff is amazing and friendly, they make you feel like you're part of their family! The food is always fresh and delicious! They have live music on certain nights which is fun as well!

We were on our way to Madison, IN for no reason at all when we decided to stop in at the only open, local restaurant for miles. We had the "boneless wings" (can we just start calling them boneless bites?) lightly breaded in house, we went Nashville Hot. The fried green tomatoes, plated and sauced wonderfully, were also A+ work. The mozz sticks pleased my child. She says they were mid but fried cheese is still fried cheese. The general consensus was they weren't up to the quality of the other food, but the bar was set high. The hand breaded tenders entree was just as good as the bites, the mac and cheese got mixed reviews but I enjoyed it. I got the black and blue salad, which includes a burger patty chunked up. Delicious. My wife got the grilled cheese and chili, which looked to be too much bread but upon chomping, was light and crusty and delightful. The chili had lots of meat, not too many beans, and not a noodle in sight. Amen.

We went to watch the UK basketball game, and enjoy some drinks and food! It was our first time there and we will definitely be back! The food was delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes, pork belly sandwich and the patty melt. The menu is like bar food but with a modern gourmet twist, and affordable too! The drinks are also very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and efficient. Also, the owners were there working which is great to see! Loved it!

Lunch after a visit to The Berry Center. This is a quaint and idyllic place. Chili and fried green tomatoes were spot on!

The sweet bourbon bacon burger is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had, highly recommend.

We are from Illinois visiting our son in Kentucky. We stopped in for lunch. The Hubbs Club is delicious as well sweet potato fries. Fried green tomatoes were well worth every penny. If you live in or around New Castle it is worth a weekly visit.

Reasonably priced with a cool atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. The pork belly sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten (just make sure you use a fork!). Have been multiple times and will continue to go back.

Pork bully sandwich was excellent, companion had Philly cheese steak and said it was great!! Wait staff was excellent, quit a friendly place. Heard there was music later in the evening. Recommend you give it a try. Friend had a burger last time also and said it was amazing.

I ate here on a Sunday evening and it was truly great!!! Kentucky Tavern is a hidden gem in New Castle Kentucky. The service is awesome as well as the food. I got the boneless wings, Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms on it , and onion rings. The food was fresh, hot, and the portions were huge. Worth the drive!!!

First time here, omg what a fabulous place and what great staff Carrie and Dawn were so nice and friendly and David cooked the BEST chicken club and onion rings It may be out of the way for some but if your looking for good old fashioned service, quality and small town flare this is the place It’s a home town bar

Pleasantly surprised at the caliber of food here! Normally, for a meal this divine, I have to drive to Louisville or farther. So happy to have a local experience like this! Can not wait to go back and try other menu items.

I wish I could give this place 100 stars. The atmosphere is impossible to beat - live music, friendly patrons, top notch service. The food is the best I’ve had in years and worth the 45 minute drive from Louisville. Do yourself a favor and check it out as soon as you can. RUN - don’t walk - to New Castle Tavern!
