Loved it. The blackberry sangria was amazing. The live music in the barn was really nice even on a hot day. Spoke to the owner and she was very friendly. I'd definitely put it on your list if you're in the area.

This was such a great find while traveling in Va! The wine was all fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely! We chose to sit in the greenhouse and the scent of jasmine was beautiful! The owners were so nice and I only wish I could visit more often.

Hesitant to review because I want this to stay a hidden gem, without crowds! It’s so pretty, clean, open, and nice. Great service.
Beautiful…and one of the more economical wineries! They have a great price for flights and great price on a charcuterie board.

We stopped here randomly today as we passed it on the way home from another place. I’m so glad we decided to stop in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The associate recommended I get the Sangria since I like sweet wine. I got the Blackberry Sangria and it was excellent. Honestly, it was the best Sangria I ever had. My boyfriend got a dry red flight. He enjoyed all three but his favorite was the Petit Verdot. The inside and outside of this place was gorgeous. We loved the hammocks outside. Such a great touch!

Warm welcome, mulled wine on a cold day, knowledgeable staff, and, best of all, tasty wine (recommend the 2021 Red Reserva and 2022 Petit Manseng). Loved it when the hostess, Lorrie, sat at our table and played music on request. Highlight of the weekend!

We were in town with friends with the intent of visiting multiple wineries and enjoying a beautiful fall Saturday. Our first stop was the Barn at 678 and it did not disappoint! We were one of the first visitors and had an opportunity to grab a flight, get some one on one attention from the staff, and walk the meticulous property. It is very apparent that the owners take great pride in the winery, the buildings and the character of the grounds. The landscaping was gorgeous and could be on the front page of any home and garden magazine.

We spent time enjoying the view from the deck and then moved over the shed roof area and enjoyed the swings and farm decor. After several enjoyable hours, we asked the owner what the easiest way was to get to a neighboring winery. It was in this conversation we learned they maintain a very close relationship with other vineyards in the area and enjoy each other’s wines. They gave us some tips and must-do’s to make the next stop enjoyable. With that, we parted ways; however our adventure at The Barn at 678 was not over…

After enjoying some tastings down the road, we took off on foot and headed back to The Barn at 678. Upon our return, we found an open fire pit, pulled up 4 chairs, and loaded up on drinks, cheeses, and crackers. The owner came out, lit the fire pit, and brought over more firewood. We sat there for the next several hours, enjoying the incredible weather, delicious wine, and lively atmosphere. While it was busy, it was not crowded and we weren’t stumbling over other guests.

We had an incredible day at The Barn at 678. It was our intent to visit multiple wineries, but could not see going anywhere else. The owners and staff were polite and accommodating to our needs and it is very evident that their passion is wine and hospitality and they nailed it! We can’t wait until our next trip to Charlottesville so we can visit them again.

The Barn at 678 should not be missed in Barboursville! The owners/staff made us feel right at home. Fabulous venue with scrumptious wines and specialty sangria! The mango was my personal favorite.
The charcuterie box was the perfect addition to our flights on the patio overlooking the vineyard. Don't miss out on this great destination. You will not be disappointed!
Cheers!

What a beautiful winery! Tucked away and so peaceful. Several comfortable areas to sit and enjoy your favorite wine with friends- patios, porches, and the prettiest greenhouse! Had a great time and will definitely return soon!

Wonderful place to stop. Pay no attention to the high profile places nearby. THIS is where you need to come. Great atmosphere, amazing wines and the friendliest staff anywhere. This place will not disappoint! Beautiful hardscape and landscaping. Tonight was 80s music and great wines! Love the flights! Love the homemade Peach sangria! Did not find anything we didn't like! Extremely clean and nice restrooms. Visit now!

We enjoyed the wine here and the service. We loved being able to see the vines so close to our tables. The relaxing atmosphere here will make this winery one of our new favorite places to come when we are in the area.

What a gem! We love everything about this winery.

Nice wine selection and sangria and non-alcoholic drinks for those of us who are less inclined toward wine. We came straight from brunch and didn’t snack today, but there was a great variety of reasonably priced pairings.

What we love most is the ambiance of their serene little campus. Lots of different, relaxing vibes to enjoy and every detail has clearly been well thought out.

We enjoyed The Barn as a quiet place to enjoy our Sunday, but I can imagine it’ll get busier as the word gets out. The owners and staff were so lovely to chat with and we can’t wait to come back to see how this place grows!

One of my best tastings! It was like they make their reds just for me. The Petit Verdot and Cab Franc were the perfect blends of bold fruit, oak, and leather. Very soft and rich. The others were close behind.
Beautiful horse farm and wonderful folks. Don't miss this!

Found this gem by accident but boy are we glad we did. Owners were amazing. Had great conversation and found out just how small the world is. We stayed here longer than any winery ever. Sangria was great, atmosphere was great. Overall a true gem of a place. We will definitely be coming back. Had a blast !!

Easily the best winery I’ve visited, and I’m no stranger to wineries. Cozy atmosphere, owners are friendly, very accommodating, and exceptionally helpful. Wines were a delight, with various flight options, including a cider flight. Add this to your list of wineries to visit!

The absolute best winery in the area. We got a driver for the day to celebrate a birthday and this was our first stop. The atmosphere and service were amazing. There were a few different areas for seating - all had great atmospheres. We were brought out to the pavilion where we had the place to ourselves. The owner brought out a couple of Ridel wine glasses for the birthday girls and taught us about the technology used for tasting wine. After stopping at a few other wineries, we had our driver take us back to The Barn at 678 to finish off our celebrations. We went back out to the pavilion and played music and did karaoke. We loved talking with the owners and staff and felt very well taken care of.

So, after reading the reviews, I thought, "Do they really need another 5 star review when they already have so many?" Simple answer is, yes, they deserve it.

Upon arriving we first noticed how well kept everything is. There are three buildings and a gorgeous greenhouse. All welcoming with their own personality to please pretty much anyone.

Wines: (for my and my wife's palates) we finally found some reds we really enjoyed in Virginia. The 21 reserve red was, again to us, good but what stole the show was the 21 Lo Sedrick Red. This would be our everyday go to red.

Interesing surprise was the Sphinx mead, which grew on us the more we sipped.

Everyone was nice, helpful and knowledgeable. This is a big place that never felt crowded and we were able to enjoy the view and hold a quiet conversation.

One of our favorite stops on our vacation! The wine is delicious and the owners are so kind and make you feel right at home. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty of seating options both inside and out. The fire pit was great on a chilly fall day.

Visit this winery!! The owners were very friendly. The wine was great, we especially liked the Petit Verdot. The charcuterie box was an amazing deal, really great value. It was a treat for the samples to be in glass AND to get a red and white glass to pour them into. The tasting room and seating was well done and super cute. Cannot say enough good things, our experience was A+++
