Seagrass Pottery

Took a class last year. Immediately felt like I was home. Kristina was very helpful and encouraging. I signed up to become a member after the 6 week class.

Five stars for the opportunity to stay artsy and creative.

Some suggestions as a complete newbie who has only done one workshop (vases):

Background: for vases, they give you a starter sample so you can practice the design you want on your final vase, the sample is just a flat square piece of clay. They give you most of the class time to come up with a design. Then they give you your final piece, that you then bend into a cylinder to make your vase. The trickiest part here is working on the seam. Then they give you a perfect cut out circle of clay to add to the bottom of your vase, and again the trickiest part is working on "glueing" it all together and making the seams appear...less seam like

- I would have liked to practice putting together two pieces of clay just as much as coming up with a design

- I wish I could have seen more examples of vases, more pattern designs, more ideas

- It would have been cool if one of the instructors was working alongside the class to create something

- The class time said 2 hours, but I already felt rushed at a half hour. Only took an hour to finish the workshop.

- The website could use a bit more information on specifics of what to expect, for example: the process. Being informed to have a design idea in mind would have been helpful. Also their website may be a good alternative to providing more pictures for ideas to illicit inspiration

- The email notification sent didn't have the time of the class and for some reason after the class was full it was hard to locate on the website. This was annoying because classes are full for a couple months in advance, so knowing these details is vital

- I wish I also would have been provided information on how long it might take for the final pieces to be done. Mine took 3 weeks, and it was done literally days before I was about to move out of state. The class was the day before mother's day and another student was working on a mother's day design. She may not have realized it would not be done on time

- I would have liked to see the process from start to finish before coming up with a design. My specific design didn't like up when you bend the clay to form a cylinder and it's not something realize until it's too late. Also because you have to "glue" the pieces together and finger your seam, the design on the seam will be ruined. Something that could be avoided by just being informed ahead of time.

Such a wonderful little place! Kristina is so enthusiastic, helpful, and happy! She really makes you feel good about what you're doing when you can't get the clay to do what you want, even if you are like me and have never thrown clay before. The atmosphere is comfortable and homey, it is in a great location that is easy to find, and the prices are very fair for the services offered. I highly recommend Seagrass Pottery!

Seagrass Pottery was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and patient. The small class size allowed for personalized attention and guidance. I would describe the class as the perfect balance between instruction and freedom.

This was the perfect spot for a birthday party/girls night out. Kristian was so sweet and patient and we had the most amazing time visiting while working with clay! Can’t wait to pick up our finished product!

Had an amazing experience with my daughter making some clay xmas creations…Kristina was so accommodating and really made it a fun and smooth experience!

My girlfriends and i celebrated my birthday at Seagrass pottery..we each got to make our own mugs and had such a fun time! It was the perfect meet up spot for us 30 somethings..The owner Kristina was SO sweet! Can’t wait to go back for another class!

What an awesome experience! I did a Saturday morning workshop, a date night with my husband, and a clay-to-go, and each one was unique and magical! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place! So fun and adorable.
