G & E Tire Center

We were stranded on our donut at closing time. G&E repaired our tire quickly and professionally. Treated us like locals even though we were just passing through town for the repair. Friendly and efficient. Thank you!

My daughter was traveling from NC to VA when her tire blew. I contacted 3 other repair places and none of them could help us with replacing the tire at that time. I was starting to panic but then I was given G&E contact and the gentleman blessed me when he said, he had the tire in stock and could replace it!!!! I was so thrilled and blessed to hear those words. I will definitely use G&E again if we need maintenance in the S. Hill area. Thanks again!!!

I have been shopping at G&E since 1994.A good friend recommended them and he was sure right. The service is second to none. The prices are fair and the work is done right the first time.
All employees are very respectful of the customers and see that the waiting time is minimal. I will not go anywhere else.

UPDATED!!

I looked and looked, but never did see the capes! these folks are none the less super hero's. After suffering a blowout on a Friday afternoon along I85 things were looking pretty bleak. Thankfully an internet search lead us to G & E Tire. We were warmly greeted, and as I walked in the new tire was meeting me. Friendly, calming conversation was just what was needed at this stressful time. While the new tire was being installed I went to the office to pay the bill, and to my surprise, it was very reasonable. The tire was even loaded back in to our camper to return to the car. (All this was as they were closing for the day) Did I mention the blowout vehicle was being towed behind a motor home? Well much to my surprise, after the tire was placed on the car it appeared to be low on air. Air was put in and after a few minutes, it seemed low again. now long past closing of the store, we headed off to Walmart to spend the night. We arrived back to G & E about 15 minutes before they were to open at 7:00 AM and saw three folks waiting for service. Once again warm friendly greetings and very fast diagnosis found the rim had been compromised. Even with all the busyness, JB researched all local possibilities to obtain a replacement rim and after exhausting resources offered me a seat in his office to do an internet search. Because we had a previous commitment, JB offered to have the car remain at the shop while a rim was shipped in. We are very grateful for the loving kindness shown to us by all the employees. And just when I thought we were very special, I observed all the customers there were experiencing the same treatment. Unfortunately for us 800 miles is just too far to travel for regular maintenance and repair of our vehicles, but for you, living close by or traveling through, this place is a gem. It deserves a sixth star or even more. Thank you G & E Tire.

Update: The rim ordered online did not pass a quality control inspection, so another order placed, this time from Dallas. Arrived as presented and when we returned to G & E the car was ready, well except for the fact I had left the glove box open and you know it is lighted. Dead battery, JB continued with terrific spirit got the car started and away we towed the Mini with our camper. I can not say enough fine things about G & E Tire,

We stopped by here on our way to Virginia Beach after being sold a tire that was previously plugged from another tire shop in NC and the tire was losing air. The owner of this establishment was super sweet and nice. Very helpful and compassionate about his business. He changed our tire immediately and ensured that the rest of the tires were okay. Definitely would recommend this business for all your tire needs.

The G&E team were really great. Helped us out in a jam when we got a flat that turned out to be a cracked rim. Also entertained our twins with Xmas music and some parking lot football toss while we waited. Made the best of a difficult trip.

Mr. Evans understood we were stranded in his town with a flat tire and made sure we felt we did the right thing coming to his place. He didn’t have the correct tire and other places were shut. He went in and found a close to matching tire for us, letting us reach home safe for the day.

Enroute from NC to VA when we had a tire issue on our trailer. These guys took us in quickly and with friendly service, went above and beyond to help us. Reasonable rate as well.

Highly recommend this shop for your next tire purchase. Honest pricing, friendly staff and straight forward process. First come first served service offers no problems because the guys work hard and fast to get you out as quick as possible.

In town working and woke up to a flat tire on a cdl truck. These guys jumped right on it and had me back on the road in no time. Very professional. Highly recommend.

We were traveling back to Atlanta from Chesapeake and shredded one of our tires on 58. Nobody had the tire in stock and it would have taken 3 plus days to get one. The guys at G&E had a used tire that was not the exact size but would work to get us home safely. These guys were amazing and had us back on the road so fast. We can't thank them enough for saving us!!!

On Route 1 from Florida to Maine in our RV towing a car on a dolly. One of the rear RV tires shredded itself. I drove slowly until I got to this place, and within about half an hour the beastly tire had been replaced and back on AND the total price including labor was less than I had previously paid just for a tire. Very competent, efficient, courteous, and very fair in pricing. I am very appreciative.

I blew a tire driving from North Carolina to New York. Had no idea where I was but was directed to G and E Tire. They were accommodating, beyond friendly, and had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. What a great group of individuals who said please and thank you more, than I’ve heard of New York in the last 10 years. If I’m ever gonna get stuck again, I hope it’s in South Hill Virginia. Fast service, great price, perfect business hours. There is plenty parking if u have a big truck or a long trailer. Easy to get to off i85.
