I recently had an issue with my mail and spoke with the Post Master. She could not have been more helpful! She was very pleasant and polite. She answered my questions with patience and helped me a lot. I'm thankful to have such nice government workers in my town!

We had a family member lose their wallet, and when someone dropped it off at the post office, the Postmaster recognized the name and even though the owner of the wallet had moved out of the Saranac area, she went out of her way to reach out to the family that remained to make sure this person got it back. She could have just thrown it in lost and found and been done with it, but she took the time to do this kind act for us! Thank you!!

Great post office, mostly in and out with no to little wait. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Until you have worked at the post office, you will never understand how difficult and stressful it can be, but the staff at this post office provide good service and try their best to help customers with their concerns.

I have always found the Saranac USPS to be very helpful and courteous.

I have had some ladies behind the counter be really nice, one thing that’s weird is they close the doors for lunch at 11:30-12:30 honestly they can have another person in the office to take over the lunch shift. Also they close the whole postal office at 4:30 I have had post offices that keep the lobby open til 10pm just so people can get into their PO Box after work. Should work on that one it’s not hard to have someone come back at 10pm to lock the doors.

We get our neighbors mail all the time, I am sure they end up with ours. The middle aged women who works the counter is abrupt and belittling. She makes me feel like I am inconveniencing her by patronizing the establishment she works for.
The younger women who works the counter is friendly, courteous and provides prompt service (Bump them up to 2 stars because of her).

Our mailbox has been left open every single day that we have had a delivery for 4 years now. The first year we though maybe they were afraid the old rickety mailbox would fall over or something. Bought a brand new one, mounted it per USPS code, and same result. DOZENS of court documents, checks and bills SOAKED. It is pretty bad when we are driving home and my 4 year old can yell "we have mail, the box is open"...Letters from distant family that are trash. If the driver hates their job this badly, they can easily get another in this market! The postmaster is rude to anyone dropping a package off. Zero customer service skills. And zero concept that these packages are literally paying her salary. I have literally sat in my car for 45 minutes after they should have been open before the lady came and unlocked the door. Same with their lunch breaks. We try to go to Lowell as often as possible for better service. Looking into the correct contact to make changes to this post office, as the poor service hurts the entire community.

This location is absolutely ridiculous. They refuse to deliver anything that they can't cram into our mailbox claiming they cannot get up our driveway (I drive a VW bug and have no issues while they drive an SUV); we are ALWAYS receiving the wrong mail and having my mail delivered to other people not even on our road; our daughter's mail keeps being forwarded to my MIL because daughter's middle name starts with a C and my MIL's first name starts with a C; and they are exceptionally unprofessional (missed delivery notices have been left on fast food napkins and they have a very poor attitude when we call to try and resolve issues). If you have a choice, do not use them!

What happened to delivering the mail every day ?
Once a week sometimes different days they don’t even come to my mailbox I know I get Mail by using the email delivery service that gives me a image of every piece of mail supposedly delivered that day ! Well again flag up with Netflix DVD in it and an email saying five pieces of mail going to be delivered today but yet the mail service never came today! What a joke Saranac post office has become !

UPDATE 1-22-2022 Put outgoing mail in my mailbox about 8am. Received Email with the items being delivered to my mailbox for Jan 22nd 2022.
Well again no mail delivered to my house on Jan 22nd nor was the item picked up from my mail box. This would mean no one down my road got their mail Jan 22nd, 2022.

Ha, if I could rate this a "0" I would. Pay for good shipping an the damn package always gets hung off the flag. Semi trucks drive by an sometime find my packages in the ditch. Pure Laziness. Have pictures for proof. I've taken all my outgoing shipments elsewhere also. Postmaster is rude!!!

The woman who works at the counter is very rude and unprofessional. I’ve had mail that hasn’t been delivered to my house on it’s scheduled day and there is no reason for it. Amazon reports that a delivery was attempted, but someone was home all day and there wasn’t even a card left saying that they tried! This has happened multiple times. All around very disappointed with the service from this post office.

The lady that is at the counter is rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful. Recently, I waited in line and she treated everyone like they were idiots. If you don't like you job, quit. Many people that would love to have your job and would be very grateful.

Terrible, terrible delivery service! Our mail is often delivered to the wrong mailbox and any packages or boxes that can be crushed enough to cram into the mailbox (instead of getting out of his vehicle to put them on the porch) is smashed down and shoved in the mailbox, leaving both doors open so that our mail is exposed to the elements.

Wack. Often don't deliver packages and then claim "Mailbox obstructed" went down there to ask what was going on because my mail box is fine, and was told they just forgot to deliver it, so they have to put something or they get in trouble. Apparently they would rather lie than drive the 2 blocks to deliver the package, I wonder how often this happens.

They also like to leave your packages on the sidewalk for some reason.
