I’m glad I looked this place up and went. Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. All four of us enjoyed our food and we ordered completely different entrees. Darrell was an amazing waiter and the hostess with dreads and glasses was super friendly.

We came in with a group of 8 (that grew to 10) and they were very polite and accommodating. Even with a big group, the waiter took the time to break down the menu because it was our first visit
Our food came pretty quickly and everything was delicious.

We lost our wallet and the waiter, Darrell, chased after us to give it to us. He was courteous and helpful. And the food was amazing. There fried chicken was delicious and tender, and their crab cakes were sumptuous. WE WILL RETURN!!!

If you go, MUST order the sweet potato pancakes and chicken! We came 2x during our visit. Staff is amazing!!

Service here is a 100/10. I prefer to go to the bar. They are all so friendly, kind, and efficient. I enjoy talking to the bar tenders but preferably my nights I like the most are with Izzy! The hospitality level she brings to the table or I guess I should say bar is amazing. I know I will be taken care of when she’s working. Overall definitely a go to for me after work. Never any bad service and food recommendations are spot on.

I come here almost weekly for their half-priced burger night, and the food has always been great and the staff very helpful. I’ve had some errors with my orders over the years, but the staff has always worked hard to fix them and ensure I leave happy. They’re fantastic and are always helpful!

Amazing Experience! Food was definitely on Point and my Waiter was very informative and took me thru the entire menu with my Family and I. Suggested what to try and maybe avoid based on our tastes. The Bookstore was a Plus as I was able to get a book for my Daughter. Would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a positive vibe.

Great food. Amazing customer service. Lovely ambiance. Parking may be hard to find on weekends, but when you do, be prepared to be wowed by healthy cuisines served in the mist of curious folks and educational books that challenge your thinking. The space hosts open mics and other creative and arts events. Check their website for a list.

Walking into this charming little restaurant/bookshop, I was immediately a fan of the vibe of the establishment. The specialty coffee drinks were delicious. I got an iced sweet spice latte. I was even more pleasantly surprised when my food arrived. Grilled chicken panini with collards on the side. Everything was really tasty and I will definitely come back here next time I'm in the area.

Always a good experience when i visit this chain restaurant. Menu is light and atmosphere is never fail. I have the steak and asparagus kale sald. They are soo good. The firecracker shrimp is really good but spicy. Shrimp & crab ball is yummy. Server is very nice and friendly.

Been to the DC location, this one is far superior. First off, the employees are just cool. There’s no other way to phrase it. Devon was our server and she was AMAZING. There aren’t enough compliments for how she managed our part of NINETEEN. She killed it. Incredible at her job and also a fascinating person. Trust, if you ask her questions - respectfully - about herself, and she elects to answer, your mind is gonna be blown.

The food was wonderful and fast. Drinks were A+. The bartender working 7-9 on Saturday the 11th was a rockstar. I wish Id gotten her/their name. Love how many options there are for vegetarians and vegans. Location is good too. But really, the perfect score is due to Devon.

Large menu with a great variety of vegan-friendly and health conscious options! Perfect spot for brunch with family or friends. This spot is more low key than the downtown busboys, smaller bookstore but nice outdoor seating. The vegan “egg” wrap and Oaxaca omelette are standouts. I always order a side of grits. Wouldn’t recommend the sweet potato hash, it was pretty underwhelming. It’s a huge menu so can’t wait to come back to try more items!

This place serves delicious food and drinks with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. On weekends it can get a bit too crowded but it is worth the wait. The staff are welcoming and friendly. You can browse through a great selection of books while waiting. The sweet potato fries are that come with the meals are one of my favorites. Great decor with rich history.

Prior to our visit, we had to leave another B&P location because no one got to our table in less than 12 mins. We left and came straight to this one and the difference was obvious. A minute after being sat, we were greeted by our waiter (Dee) with a smile, waters and etc. Our food and beverages was brought to us all in great timing and presentation was on point. Even during our service there were other staff that checked in on us and made sure we were well taken care off. You can tell that this Takoma location really devote their time to give stellar service to customers and I’m sure that come from management on down. We don’t know why we tried the other location because we come here a lot. It’s just great to know that every time, we’re here, it’s always a good experience. Thank you again and we will be back!

We had the catfish and the chicken chorizo/shrimp pasta, two different coffee drinks, and the two bean soup. The food arrived piping hot and was fantastic. The grits with the catfish needed a little salt, but the capers were phenomenal. They were fried and crispy and added a nice salty touch to the dish. The soup was so so, but the coffees were very good, toasty and toasty flavor but not burnt. Will definitely come back to try other things.

I am a big fan of Busboys and Poets. Don't expect a high-end restaurant setting, but be amazed by the food and drinks.

Their sandwiches are delicious, their Cubano is Top Notch! And the cajun pasta they have, with Chorizo, chicken and Shrimps, is absolutely amazing. The toasted bread they add to it, the perfectly cooked pasta and all the flavors are just delicious.

The portions are always more than decent, I rarely go home without leftovers. After coming here, you feel satisfied and you got what you paid for, and more.

The drinks are good, they have a nice happy hour and always good pours.

Went for a ladies lunch and really enjoyed my time there.
The place was clean, smelled fresh and everyone seemed pleasant.
Our waiter was great, attentive but not annoying. He suggested appropriate variations and when my drink of choice wasn't available I said "surprise me"; I was not disappointed!
I was wrapped into conversations so I failed to photograph the food. I choose the Kale, asparagus and steak salad. It was perfect with the exception that the fingerling potatoes were not seasoned but they were cooked well.
My surprise drink was the purple passion. It was a stunning lemonade and butterfly pea syrup that was layered very well, chilled at the right temp with an amazing floral aroma.
I skipped dessert but the chocolate layer cake my friend had looked killer ... She totally ate it all so I guess it was divine.
I did grab take out and I got the chorizo and shrimp pasta... Extra spicy and extra saucy like another friend had. She said I was good. I ate it the next day and I agree 💯 it was spot on.
One very amazing thing to add. At the end .. like a clutz I dropped my to go bag. The container opened in the bag and it was a mess. If I was driving I may have just dealt with it but I was on the train and the nice cloth bag couldn't keep the sauce from seeping out. Without skipping a Beat; They repacked my food and gave me another bag. I apologized profusely but they smiled and chatted nicely while I waited. Great customer service💜 thank you

Out for Sunday brunch with my friend and what a great experience with our server Asha! We will be here every seek to enjoy more great Sunday vibes! The salmon benedict , grits and french toast were all amazing!

First time dining here! As we entered the restaurant the ambiance was so cozy. We were seated immediately and given the choice of hands free menu or hard copy. We were pleasantly surprised while photographing when June photobombed us unknowingly he was to be our waiter. My wife took me and her best friend’s picture for our Birthday. Let me tell you - June’s service was excellent, timely & he was very personable! His recommendations & recap was spot on from the drinks to the food which was delicious. I recommend you ask for June as your waiter the next time OR first time you visit.
