Jan's Cajun Restaurant

We found this by chance after a swamp boat tour and it is the best, off the beating path place, to get a great plate and sit my the river! They will bring your plate out and all the food was so good and so fresh!! If you’re around you have to go!!

The location is pretty hard to find, the restaurant is actually located in a open space warehouse near by the lake.
Family owners were very nice.
We enjoyed the local food freshly cooked and we enjoyed the quiet place and view.

Family and I had been out fishing since early in the morning and wanted something to eat, when another place was closed we came upon Jan's. The food was amazing, I highly recommend their loaded shrimp fries! Food was out hot and customer service was fantastic.

I ran across this little place while on a motorcycle ride in Cajun country. I had a great local lunch there, crawfish, red beans and rice. Also had the fried bacon wrapped oysters, everything was fresh and great tasting. Had a nice conversation with the staff and met the owner outside, told her what a wonderful place she had and she was so happy she stopped to have a conversation with me also. I love the folks down here.

Jan has a menu for every appetite! Food here is very delicious! It's what we call down the Bayou! The price is good hey the food is absolutely to die for! So treat yourself well. We had seafood platter today and it was very good! It has shrimp stuffed crab oyster and stuffed shrimp with fries! Great deal for the money! The gumbo was also delicious! Today I had chicken sausage gumbo. It was some of the best, that I have tasted! You won't be disappointed

Was a beautiful day & stopped in for a burger & fries with a coca cola. Ooohh, the burger was so good!! I ate all of that!! Staff were awesome!

Wonderful people, service was great and the food was better. The Shrimp po boy was delicious. Highly reccomend

When you are in Lafitte, LA you owe it to yourself to visit Jan's for AT LEAST one home cooked meal. Not only is the food great, but the ladies who work there are just GREAT at what they do. And what they do is show what Southern Hosptality is all about. They could write a book about how to treat their guests and make sure that they feel welcomed and appreciated. 〰🙏🏽〰

Food was great. Had fried shrimp and crab cakes. Everything was served hot and fresh. Great french fries.

This might be a bias review but if you want great food at a reasonable price Jan’s is the place. The gumbos are excellent chicken or seafood my grandmother couldn’t cook gumbo like Jan’s and believe me my grandmother did cook an excellent gumbo. Everything on the menu is worth the trip. Ms. Jan love ya keep up the good work.

Had lunch with the family at the temporary location (outdoor seating with view of the river). Everything was delicious!

Great food and great staff prices aren't bad either for where they are at . Best to order after the lunch rush as they are packed and hopping. Also they have lunch specials each day and the fried pork chop or the chicken are both awesome and perfectly seasoned.

Absolutely amazing! Honestly some of the best grilled chicken I've ever had.

Good seafood gumbo, excellent shrimp po-boy, on real french bread with flakey crust. Limited selection of beer, but it's cold, and accompanied by a frosty mug.
Friendly staff, excellent service, down-home atmosphere!

My friend had a Catfish Platter with French Fries. I had a bowl of Seafood Gumbo, both were equally very good and served piping hot! Restaurant and rest room very clean. Social distancing and masks required.

They were at the farmers market and the food was good. Made to order so it was fresh.
