The Burger Shack - Chantilly

I have been trying to get a burger from this place for a few months now and I finally got it! It did not disappoint.

The service from the young lady that took my order was absolutely fantastic. She was so kind and helped me make a decision. I got the Ring of Fire Burger (cooked medium) with garlic Parmesan fries to go.

I ended up having to make a stop before going home and the burger and fries maintained their temperature and taste! It was at least 20 mins between the time I left the restaurant and home.
I cannot wait to return and try some other items.

I have been coming here since the inception. I no longer work in the area, but was fortunate enough to be able to stop in on May 17, 2024. It is still by far the best burger I have eaten from a restaurant. I got my usual from before and enjoyed every bite. 7oz (well done) on brioche, with cheddar, onion, pickles, jalapeño, and mustard. A Chicago dog with no tomato, tater tots.
I specify well done, because it is not steak. That seems to be the complaints in reviews, still is juicy and tasty being well done.

I even forgot to take a picture before having a bite. Bun was soft, beef patty was thick but juicy, and staffs were friendly. It was a decent meal indeed.

I order the classic 7 oz cheeseburger and I added onion rings, onion, bacon, and bbq sauce. I got tator tots as my side with ranch. So dang good like I literally finished it all in one sitting and the burger was BIG.

I got my son the grilled cheese with fries and he tore his up too lol.

Service was super friendly and fast. The girl at the register was soo nice and helpful.

Hot dogs for days, Chicago, Memphis and Philly 🌭🌭🌭 not a lot of parking spaces but service is fast, easy in and take out. Will be back for burgers

One of the best burgers out there! A little pricey for what you get, expect to pay $15 for a meal. However, I am editing this review based on my last coupke intended which didn't materialize. I will still advocate that their entrees and great, and the burgers being not only their best item, but by far better than any other I've had locally. I've not tried every eatery out there, but I'd be hard pressed to find a burger on par let alone superior. Again a little pricey, but not over the top and you get what you pay for. The best will not be the least expensive. So the bad is the customer service, very specifically on the phone, trying to place an order for pickup. On one occasion, I was on hold for about 13 minutes, at which time I had already passed their venue, and it was no longer practical to place an order. If you're that busy, better not to answer at all. Don't answer, ask to put them on hold, then ignore them. That light on your phone flashes for a reason. Either way a sale is lost but the customer isnt pissed off, and they'll still want to come back. Mistakes happen like undercooked fries or a topping missing, sure, but that's just bad service. It's hard to see how this type of thing would affect dine in adversely, so customers should be ok there. Again, I don't think you will find a better burger anywhere in the area.

Parking lot was small (only parks about 10 cars)
Has lots of seating outside if you go on a warm day. The inside has a medium amount of seating. They had the tvs on children channels. Worked out for me bc I had two kids and that kept them still while we had to wait for our food.

You order once you walk in. They provide you a number and once the food is ready someone brings it out to you.

Our order was 2 kids meals- cheeseburger & chicken tenders
3 different burgers (2 combos)
A fried pickles(spears) which were really good. They were really crispy and intack.
All that came out to about $70

Their menu states they have veggies & vegan options. I’ll have to try those another time.

Awesome burger. Got the ring of fire burger with bacon. Amazing!!! Big thick patty cooked how you want it. Definitely will be back.

Stopped in here for lunch on a recent trip to Washington DC. Wanted to try a small local restaurant instead of eating at a big chain. The burgers are simple, delicious, wholesome ingredients. The fries were hot and crispy. The parking lot is pretty small, and the dining room is not huge, but it worked and it wasn't terribly crowded. They make the burgers to order. They also have milkshakes and a few other items. My sons got chicken tenders. Cashier was helpful and made a suggestion to get kids meals that I didn't notice. The lady working behind the counter showed me where the Styrofoam clamshells were as I was leaving. A good atmosphere and delicious food. Would recommend.

best burger place I have ever been to. I have eaten gourmet burgers, fast food burgers, hipster burgers and every kind of burger you can imagine. But no burger place has ever come close to the consistency and quality of The Burger Shack. I have gone there 5+ times, and every single time I finish my burger in around 20 seconds. It is almost a craze, where I do not realize I am not chewing until all of my food is gone. If I could live here, I would. My go-to order is the Ring of Fire Burger with onion rings and it never fails to disappoint. The thing is, with all of these smash burger places and fancy schmancy burger places you forget about the magic of a classic burger, and that is where it hits the hardest. The only burgers with this meatiness (the kind where they ask how you want it done) are ones that I make. The wait is 5-10 minutes, and the place "appears" a little dingy (maybe even a little shady). But that is the magic of these kinds of places. You arent gonna get this magic from a fancy restaurant. sure the food might be nice and taste good, but it doesn't have the soul. It has the feel of a secret, old vintage diner in the deep south of some town u have never heard of. the food is made with heart, albeit not the healthiest. It has that secret, almost vintage charm. There is little to no wait and the people there are relatively friendly. All in all, I have to limit myself to eating there once a month to preserve the mythicness. It is for special occasions only. There are some days where you are craving a good, old fashioned, American burger and this place is for that. eat here if u like burgers

The young lady running the counter is amazing. Very kind, courteous and polite while helpful.

Now, the food! Be ready to eat well. The Sunrise burger was delicious. The loaded fries could have been dinner, on its own.

Don't go to Five Guys while in the area, go here instead!

Great food, outdoor patio with view of trees, my wife loved the french fries. 🍟 very happy. Also glad that they asked how I want my burger cooked… I like well done for safety. But you can get a medium rare burger here if you want.

After working in the area for 7 years I finally stopped in here for lunch. The atmosphere is like an old burger counter, and the options are plentiful. Imagine Five Guys but they cook the pattie to order. I went with the Sunrise burger and it was delicious. I don't know why more places don't offer a breakfast burger. I'll be coming here again, but maybe not right away. This isn't a knock on the business, but more on my self control.

First visit. With so many burger places around, I wondered if TBS could stand apart. It really did!

Unsure what they do on the flat top, but the burger tastes great. The brioche roll works, too. Ordered a regular burger (no mayo). I'll be back.

The place is a little "shacky" with used napkins and straw wrappers on the floor by the soda fountain. The exterior is not very inviting, with a trash can blocking one of the doors.

All that aside, great burger!

Loved this place. We drove by while running errands in Virginia (we live in MD) and saw this place and decided to get some burgers. They have outdoor seating, our table was in the shade (extra points for this!) And our order came quickly, hot and fresh!
Burger was simple but just right. Tasty, cooked to order, decent size patty, and the brioche bun was super good, too.
I wish it was closer to our home, would definitely visit it often!

Great burger, good fries. Atmosphere is exactly as expected -- table and chairs, which is all that's needed. A few outdoor tables, too. Will be back for the time burger, for sure.

It's a shack, and it serves burgers. Very good burgers. One does not go to The Burger Shack for seafood and fine dining.

It looks like an old house that was covered into a restaurant. Parking is poor and mostly on the street, but it's near a strip mall and is very walkable from there.

I got a custom burger and made it a meal for ~$19 (including tax):
- 7oz Angus beef (I asked for medium rare)
- Pretzel bun (extra $)
- Tomato and jalapenos (free add-ons)
- Applewood smoked bacon (extra $)

That was a very good burger. As far as the American experience of a burger and fries go, this was a good one.

If your vegan friend is not among your party looking for food, give this place a shot. Visit here at least once.

Note: I'm not familiar with their vegetarian or vegan options. Supposedly they have options, but it's not their main thing.

It is definitely a great place for awesome food and quick service. The food was hot, and I have not seen that in a long time

I love the burgers and the chicken fire sandwich. The bun is that kind of burger bun I like, toasted perfectly. The fries are great if you dip it in the hot sauce. This spot is better than any of the burger chains around. The cashier was very nice. We'll be back for sure.

Phenomenal burgers! Will definitely be coming back.
