Bread and butter cafe

We spied Bread and butter from our hotel room. After a disastrous breakfast at ANOTHER restaurant 2 days ago we were ELATED to dine here! The BEST chicken EVER. Waffles are light and fluffy, banana French toast ... drizzled with light syrup and sprinkled lightly with sugar and cinnamon is to DIE FOR! Dominique and Ms. Desert were most hospitable.

We almost kept walking by this place when we looked in the window because it looks like a counter service kind of place, but the waitress waved us in. We are so glad that she did. The food was amazing, best breakfast that we had in New Orleans. And super friendly staff. The atmosphere is kind of combination of diner/cafeteria but don’t let that fool you.

This place was recommended to me by a kind lady at our hotel. I have 0 negative things to say about this place. It was fast, clean, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and the food was AMAZING. When you walk in, it doesn’t look like much but the flavor you get is insane. It was also presented so beautifully. I was not prepared for the appearance or the amazing flavor!! I got the waffles & berries with fresh squeezed orange juice and it was the best breakfast I have had on a vacation ever.

Love this spot next to my house right at the downtown.

Its a counter service type restaurant where you prepay first and get the food at your table by either kitchen chef or other staff.
Prices are very reasonable not expensive for the same type of food you get at other spot with big price tag.
Plus you get breakfast potatoes and small salad with benedicts which i liked most.
Quality of the food is amazing along with freshly squeezed orange juice which they make in front of you after you pay.

Being a vegetarian person i liked the lots of veg options includes fried green tomatoes benedict and avocado toast they have on the menu with the local and traditional touch of new orleans seasoning. I go there once in every two weeks.

Dee welcomed us in from the door. We all had the crawfish omelette and all loved it. Fantastic omelette! The potatoes were crispy and lightly spiced. There should have been a line out the door for brunch here. Very clean and comfortable cafe.

Unfussy dining room, unbelievable food and wonderful service. You can tell this was cooked with love! This is the crab cakes Benedict and Cajun biscuit

First time in New Orleans ran into the café after a late night late morning. Food was amazing. 🤩 Coming back before I leave

What a lovely place for breakfast! It was hard to pass up the lunch menu. It was worth the 8 hour drive just for this delicious food!

The Fried Tomato Eggs Benedict was amazing. They had the most surreal biscuit, and I couldn't define it because I had never experienced anything like it. I don't like bread, and I almost stole my nephews.
The staff was attentive and funny and sweet. Best breakfast we found in NOLA on this trip.

Oh, and they know how to poach an egg! Was so creamy. It's hard to find these days.

Delicious meal. Great service. The crab Cake Benedict was worth the trip.

Check this place out for sure! Just a little ways out of the really touristy spots, this place has amazing food. The crab cake Benedict is fantastic, served on the most delicious biscuit. The bananas foster French toast is lovely as well. Everything is beautifully plated. The atmosphere is bright and airy, and the staff are lovely, kind people. Thanks for a great breakfast!

Best egg and cheese croissant! The eggs were fluffy and croissant buttery and toasted perfectly. Ms. Dee and Domonique, ultimate host/ owners.
Also, make sure you get the loaded fries!

Excellent simple cafe with so affordable prices . Compare to all others around it s the perfect place to be welcome truly warmly and pay cheap for good food ....a croissant with ham get 4 layers of meat, bacon is delicious and just crispy as must be. chef coming to make sure the order will be right as we asked at counter . Super cool place I recommend to be in a real USA tradi environment

Had the Eggs Benedict. We fresh and delicious. Wife had the avocado toast and she absolutely loved it. Cozy atmosphere and great friendly service.

This food was absolutely delicious!!!! The service was outstanding!! The restaurant is very inviting and friendly. The breakfast poboy is so yummy!!! I would highly recommend this place!

Really good and reasonably priced breakfast sandwiches. I had the breakfast po boy and it totally hit the spot. Nice little hidden gem a few blocks from canal street.

Honestly, most welcome and wholesome place found since visiting for Australia! Yes we have met many lovely people and had yummy food! But walked in and nothing was a problem! They have proper coffee, I originally ordered Avocado on toast but the Avocados were still hard! So choose totally left field and got the Breaky Poboy… first bite was like wow so good! Partner had pancakes with chocolate chips! Also so good! Value for money extremely high! Would return or recommend in a heart beat

Awesome atmosphere with the friendliest servers! The gumbo and club sandwich was amazing. I went back the next morning for breakfast which was also great!

A nice, cozy spot with excellent food and service. Everyone was so pleasant! Convenient to our hotel. We came back twice!
