A nice breakfast/lunch place, 1 of 3 locations.
Greeted quickly by a smiling lady when we walked in at 11 am on a Thursday. Seated in a big, wraparound booth with several tables. After being open 5 hrs already this place is really clean. Not just the tables, but the seats & chairs as well as the carpet.
The menu is huge so I had ask for more time twice from the server. They are really efficient folks.
My inability to decide took me, eventually, to the daily special (only $6.25 before 11, $7.25 after) while my son got the Horn of Plenty, a Dutch Baby filled with fresh fruit & whipped cream. The Garden Surprise is a veggie & cheese filled version. There are several other Dutch Baby options as well as the larger German pancakes, crepes, waffles, Belgian waffles, omelets, salads, soups and sandwiches.
My son nearly inhaled his fruit-filled breakfast while I enjoyed all my eggs, bacon, fried potatoes & biscuits (with honey, of course) at a slightly more leisurely pace.
We'd definitely come back.

This restaurant is amazing! They have three locations. We went to the original location. The staff were amazing. I met an amazing couple there too! They have plenty of free parking. They make their own bread it was so good. They bake some of there pancakes in the oven and they have many variations. This is a must try!!

Come hungry, because some of the largest waffles and pancakes you'll ever see can be found here! I just stick to nice, light and clean. Gotta watch my figure, ya know. lol

This is my one of my favorite places for breakfast. They’ve been in business for over 45 years and have an amazing selection of pancakes. The service is great and it’s a classic in the area.

We went for a brunch on busy Sunday afternoon. Indeed this place was super busy. We were lucky to get a table quickly. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly. They have also me great choices for breakfast on their menu. We tried German pancake and omelettes. The food was great. I found the items on menu reasonably priced. Overall a good experience and I am excited to try more food later here.

I've been coming to the Pantry for a long time. The first time I tried their unique big German pancake, I was hooked. I love the family-friendly atmosphere as well. This is an amazing restaurant where you're definitely treated like family.

The staff were nice and greeted you upon entering. I got the breakfast sandwich. The texas toast was toasted perfectly. I got hash browns instead of fruit. Those were more like home fries with a nice crispness. I'm going back!

I came in the morning at 8am, I informed them I was pressed for time because I came to Michigan as a business trip. They were really quick to take, place, and bring my order right up. She even brought my bill before I was done to make sure I don't ask for it, I thought that was really thoughtful. The food was delicious and the butter was actually "REAL" butter. The entire service was amazing!

Update: 6/15/2022, this place never fails to impress me. I came in on a business trip and informed them in pressed for time. My goodness they had my order ready in less then 5 minutes.

The oven baked omelet was huge and delicious! I asked for the hash browns to be crispy, and they were perfect!! Our server was funny and attentive while still giving us space to enjoy our meal.

First time here, my friend brought me. One of the best diners I've ever been to honestly. Friendly, attentive staff. I can't remember our server's name, an older lady with short hair, but she was wonderful. Always refilled our drinks before they were empty, warm attitude, it felt a bit like visiting my grandma's house which was nice. Everything was very clean, and they were following Covid guidelines. And the food was great too, I didn't expect the omelet to be so big! I'll definitely come back here.

Aside from the two little kids of the employees running up and down the restaurant. The German apple pancake was AMAZING. My friends said their burgers were really good.
Our server was very nice. She handled everything wonderfully. We were " those customers " who came in before close (not realizing the time) and ordered food to go at the end of our meal. They gracefully were glad to make it.
We were grateful and tipped well. Again, the apple pancake is a must try of you love apples, cinnamon, ooey-gooey goodness. Taste like fried bread, but It's baked. The crispy edges are bitefuls of deliciousness.

Enjoyed breakfast at The Pantry. Food was very good. Dined mid-week late morning, and they were quite busy. We didn't have to wait for a table. Bridgette was our server and she was excellent.

Took my grandson there. We enjoyed a great brunch. They were helpful with my seating due to my oxygen need. All around atmosphere and the food was great Will be returning

I ordered a carryout today, and it was wonderful. We usually eat in but not today. Our food was still hot and delicious. We had the Apple Pancake and the Banana Nut Surprise. These are more than enough to split into 2 meals for each pancake. Love this restaurant. Thanks again for a wonderful meal.

This has been my go-to breakfast place for years. It’s been family owned and operated for the better part of 50 years, and consistently excellent meals and service. Breakfast menu is modeled like the Original Pancake House, only better. I opt for one of their omelets (baked and fluffy), but their Dutch Apple Pancake is best you will find. They open at 6AM which is great for before work meetings, and you always find the local police congregating in the corner having their breakfast at the end of their night shift. Five stars plus - you won’t go wrong here.

This is a nice, homestyle family owned restaurant that delivers. It was very busy at lunch, but this means the locals like it! Menu is great with tons of special options, see the pictures. The service was prompt and attentive, despite the long wait for a table, but it was worth it. They have daily specials and a unique menu that reflects the local ownership, it's not a typical chain restaurant. I had a salmon patties with eggs and it was delicious. Added a side of slice tomatoes and potatoes. Yummy. See some of the pictures for a sample of the foods. I'll definitely return for another meal soon, maybe with my family instead of my coworkers...

Hearty and wholesome. I ate something called a "German pancake," which is like a crepe and an elephant ear had a baby. It was big enough to feed three people (they sell a smaller version for the faint-hearted called a "Dutch Baby.") It's topped with lemon juice and powdered sugar, which are perfect together. Very relaxing vibe inside, too. Somewhere they have it posted, "We fuss a lot to make it better." I believe them. 5/5

Stopped here for late breakfast for work group. Menu is great and food is even better. Great options for breakfast and lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meal and food was fantastic. Highly recommend

We always LOVE this place! It's my kids favorite breakfast spot! Family owned, super friendly staff, great food!!! I recommend the German Pancake!!!

This place is a community staple in the Sterling Heights area. We go to the original Pantry on VanDyke Avenue. We had our usual oven baked apple pancake which is an ooey gooey wonder. Sure it takes a little extra time, and if you're in a hurry don't get it. However if you have the time, it's a special treat. We've had other items too, and everything is good, but we are pretty much set with our order before we go.
