LAOTHAI restaurant

A small cozy space with huge character. The room is tiny lots of thai art. But even though you sit close to people you feel comfortable. The service humble and pleasant. The food is amazing. Very well done very beautifully plated my rice came out like a star. The hot and sour soup was so good I almost ordered some to go but pressed for time. I am going back. Really soon.

Everything is on point, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The sauce, noodle texture, pho broth, plates and services are amazing!! The only area for improvement would be the protein. The meats in the pho and panang curry were slightly overcooked and had a somewhat rough texture.

We liked this restaurant so much we ate here two nights in a row! The first night, we had the green curry and pad see iew with chicken (no photos). Both very delicious and had a beautiful presentation.
The second night, we tried the satay chicken, pad see iew with tofu, and chicken with ginger and vegetables (photos below). The servers were friendly and attentive. Dining area is clean and has lovely decor. This restaurant is a big asset to Carpinteria. Highly recommended!

Amazing food and service! Really happy this new Thai restaurant opened in Carpinteria. We ordered the Tom kha soup, Lao special pho, cashew nut chicken, and Pad Thai. Everything was so fresh, really flavorful, and beautifully presented. We can’t wait to try more of the menu items. The service was so friendly, really a sweet family run business!! Highly recommend!

We got fried dumplings and the yellow curry. It was so good! The flavors were all on point. The lady who served us was so nice. Would highly recommend.

What a nice little spot we happened upon in our travels last night! Great menu and such nice folks. We had a long talk about stuff and things after we'd finished our meal and walked away happy and full. A flat screen showed a video of street food in Thailand and it really enhanced our dinner - so beautiful and interesting for those who haven't been, and so familiar and lovely for those who have. If I were to change a thing, I'd put a dimmer switch on the lights. It was pretty bright for a dinner crowd.

The foods are the best in town. Must try Lao Larbs, Chicken Satay, and Panang. The taste is authentic Thai Laos.

I love coming here when I'm in the area. The food never misses a beat. It's always good and always consistent. THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT!!! I got the eggplant with shrimps 🍤😋

What a great little restaurant. The staff were so friendly and so polite. The Tom Yum soup was delicious and the Chicken Pad Thai was yummy. Very affordable. Great service, very clean, fast, and good taste all around.

When you find that hole in the wall spot! We had their Tom Yum and is one the best we've had, next time we come back, I want to try their Tom Yum with noodles. Their online ordering system is better than some large Chinese food chain. The place is small, but hole in the wall spots usually are. Plenty of parking. Definitely coming back next time we are in the area!

The best Thai food in the area!

This small Thai restaurant offers both Thai and Lao dishes in an authentic style.
We had the traditional papaya salad and asked for them to prepare it hot at “Thai-level”. They did that to perfection.
Their “pad see ew” (big noodles cooked with meat and vegetables) is very good and definitely worth trying.
The service is friendly, smiling and create a relaxing atmosphere.

We ate in but saw a lot of take away going out. I’ll try that one day.

Best Thai food we've had in a very long time, One of the best meals we've had in Carpinteria. Portions are larger and we over ordered so be warned. The fresh spring rolls we not like fresh Vietnamese spring roll. They're mostly greens and a bit of protein, they were excellent, like a hand salad. Everything we ordered was exceptional!

What a pleasant surprise to find such delicious and authentic Thai food in Carp. We drove down from Montecito last night hoping to get away from weekend crowds and enjoy a quiet evening with good food. From our Thai beers to appetizers to main meals everything was perfect. Service was wonderful and the food was piping hot. The restaurant filled up quickly and I'd recommend hiring more help for the weekends. Lots of take-out orders as well. My only complaint is the seating. The wood benches are very uncomfortable, but easily remedied with some cushions. We are looking forward to eating there again shortly!
