My spouse, who already has high functioning autism, is suffering very concerning neurological condition that is, to this day, unknown/undiagnosed. Since December, he has been having intermittent episodes that rise to the level of going to the ER. A STAT EEG performed at Promedica hospital showed significant brainwave abnormalities.We waited nearly 3 months for this appointment despite the severity of the situation. Once my spouse, my mother, and myself showed up yesterday, and were called in to be seen by Dr. Hasan, they said they only allowed one person other than the patient to be in the room. My mother asked if he would make an exception to this policy, as he is disabled, we live together, and need to all be involved with his care. Dr. Hasan refused to allow the exception. So, only I, his spouse, was allowed in the exam room, which we agreed to.
We sat down with the assistant in the exam room with her computer to explain our reasoning for being there, symptoms, ect., and before I got past the first sentence, Dr. Hasan come into the exam room, interrupted me, raised his voice, and explained that he only allows one person to be there in the room because he feels that it becomes more of a "conference" and that there's too many distractions. I said, that it's fine, it's just me here now, so we can proceed with why we're here. Dr. Hasan immediately says, "I don't want you here, I have a bad feeling about this, leave immediately or I will have security forcibly remove both me and my spouse, and my mother in the lobby.
We left the exam room to the front counter, and very politely, I asked for a complaint form of some sort. The receptionists shrugged their shoulders, copped an attitude with us, and said "there is no such thing, and we answer to nobody." I said, "what about an administrator, you guys are connected with promedica right? I will also be contacting the Medical Board about this experience."
It was then, that Dr. Hasan came from whatever office he was in at the time, claimed that my desire to formally complain about his behavior to the medical board as a "threat." He specifically said that us wanting to complain to the proper channels was a threat, and again, said he's calling security to FORCIBLY remove us from his office, and gave no references on how to report his conduct.

I wait 3 months to get told by Dr.Hasan that they are going to call security because filing complaints is a threat, apparently. They didn't want 2 visitors in the room, which we all disagreed about, but then after settling for 1 visitor, we are told that he isn't seeing me period. Well fine, I am not seeing him either.

4 months. 4. MONTHS. of waiting for this referral from Hasan. After waiting 4 AGONIZING MONTHS OF PAIN I'm told their office canceled my referral. If they're trying to reduce my lifeapan, they're doing a great job.
