Buttermilk Cafe

Went to Buttermilk Cafe after a 3 mile walk along the river on Memorial Day. The place was crowded and we were told that it was. 45 minute wait. Not to worry, we had a great cup of coffee while waiting. The tables were turned over quickly, though, and we were seated in 20. Service was efficient and courteous, servings are huge. We’d just had a big breakfast at another place the day before so my partner and I opted for salads. I had the BLT Chopped and my partner had the Cobb. Both excellent - great flavor, nicely dressed, fresh ingredients - but I’d have been happy to pay half the price for half the serving. It was just too much even for a full meal. The third in our party got the Briskwich which he said was very good. He did finish his meal. As mentioned, coffee was excellent unlike the one from the breakfast place the day before. A pitcher is left on the table to refresh our cups as needed. The buttermilk biscuit on the next table looked delicious but we just had no room to eat one. Great place in a very charming town.

Came on a Wednesday morning and were seated promptly. Started with a caramel machiatto, which was excellent. Eggs were perfectly cooked. I had them with the bacon , which was thick and crispy. The breakfast potatoes are seasoned perfectly. Pancakes are bomb as well. Fluffy, but not too dry or dense. A little pricey but everything was delicious.

So worth the wait! Great menu, everything we had was amazing! The place is very busy so I knew they must be doing something right! I did witness someone get very upset about their wait time but the host handled it very well. Props to the staff for keeping up with the chaos.
I recommend going early to get your name in and expect a bit of a wait. This place is always bumpin!
I tried the Alabama hot chicken Benny and it was a game changer. I'll definitely be back to try other creative items on the menu!

The food is excellent also the MANAGER, is awesome he is hands on with the staff definitely seemed hard working not some thing u see every day and also a very friendly atmosphere

Fantastic restaurant. A perfectly prepared and served breakfast with typical American cuisine. It's clean and very nice inside. I will definitely come here more than once. And this atmospheric, discreet music gives you a feeling of additional positive well-being.

This was the most delicious breakfast place I have ever been too!! I ordered the bananas and Nutella crepes, and I didn't expect the food to come in such a big portion, so I had plenty of leftovers! The food didn't take that long to arrive at our table and the buiscuits are BOMB. They definitely know what they are doing here!! They taste like they are made from scratch! The food was worth the 10-15 minute wait, and aside from all the food and service, although it was great, the atmosphere isint very great because it was pretty loud there and I heard a loud CRASH 5 minutes into waiting and someone said they dropped alot of plates, so it was very loud there and I feel like they should turn the AC down by ALOT. it was freezing and honestly it wasn't even that hot out.. 😅🥶 But other than all that I would DEFINITELY reccomend coming here!! I posted a pic of my food on my snap story and others also think it looked delicious- and it was!! I'm currently eating my leftovers! 😋 Yum!!

Buttermilk one of my favs breakfast spots in Geneva. So excited with the NEW private room for special events. PLUS more seating during weekend AM hours. Less of a wait with the extra room. Nice!

I LOVE this place! The food is amazing! I highly recommend the lemon blueberry pancakes! The biscuits are to die for, and the skillets are so fresh. The service is great, super attentive, and sweet. We always go when they first open at 7am so we can have a quiet place to ourselves before it becomes too busy. It does start to fill up quickly on the weekends around 830-9, so i recommend calling ahead. They have a lot of different options for food as well as coffee. Dairy free substitutes for coffee are available, which is a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

This is a gem in the heart of Geneva. I found it to be cozy yet open, modern yet nostalgic. This restaurant represents the Midwest in a modern sense while showing off its down home goodness. Seating is comfortable and spacious with lots of window views. Our service was prompt and professional. The food was amazing in its presentation and flavor, not to mention the generous portions. I’ll be going back again! Great for families, couples, and even business meeting/breakfasts. The staff and owners of this establishment should be proud. Well done.

Ordered hash browns, pumpkin spice pancakes , avocado toast which came with a side of salad...every bit of each item ordered was delicious and made to perfection!

Our server (can't recall her name, but tall, super curly blonde hair put up real high with much of it dangling on her sides) was the best server I've ever encountered! She was sweet in making us feel right at home. She was patient and helpful with us and our order. Unknowingly, we had sat at our table for almost an hour after we paid as we had good conversations, and she never once hurried us or made us feel we needed to leave. We didn't realize an hour had gone by after we made our payment. I highly recommend this place, great food and excellent service! Will be back often!

fantastic food. this is the goto place for my family's weekend breakfast spot. the service is fast and pleasant. as I said, food is absolutely fantastic. I shouldn't even leave this review, we already have to wait for a table on the weekends. But it's worth it!

I recently visited this brunch cafe and was blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The decor was lovely and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The menu was extensive and offered a variety of options, making it hard to choose just one dish. I finally decided on the fried green tomatoes Benedict and Tres Leches french toast. It did not disappoint. It was fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The marshmallow latte was also delicious and made the perfect complement to my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a delicious brunch experience. I will definitely be returning! 5 stars!

Delicious! Blackberry brie French toast was phenomenal! Cookie butter latte was perfect. Side of sausage links were nice and fat. Kids Mickey mouse pancakes were huge!
This restaurant is esthetically adorable and very clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

They say, that the best things in life are worth waiting for and yes, be prepared to wait and for a long time. You will need to download the Yelp app to use the now with feature. While the feature itself is great, sometimes the crowd is so big that they shut down the app. So be prepared to go in and register your name early. Now all that aside, the best breakfast in town. No questions. And service is with a smile. That's awesome.

Potatoes were delicious! My milkacinno was very sweet but still tasty. The croissant sandwich was yummy and quite big. Service was average they seemed very busy of course on a Sunday.

I got breakfast here after my friend suggested I stopped in and I'm so glad I did. I got the Smores hot chocolate and the little goats crepes. Both were delicious! The celrepes were really good they came with bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, spinach, and herbed goat cheese. I definitely will be coming back to try more things.

Food was great! Lots of seating but make sure you plan ahead as they get busy on the weekends. Waitress was super helpful and gave us great insight on the menu as well as tips on some of the food items! Menu is comforting as it’s items you relate to, but they have a unique take on each item! The Stuffed Breakfast Biscuit was incredible and could easily feed two! Pancakes were also delicious!

WOW! best breakfast joint ever!!!! Food was hot and plentiful not to mention, REAL FLAVOR! Presentation was fun but again, the flavors jumped out at you as everything was perfectly paired. Cannot wait for my next visit. Oh wait, the servers were awesome. They truly know how to work for that too! Thank you Buttermilk!
