Origami Restaurant

This is my go-to spot for sushi in the city. While there are several more premium options for sushi, they come with premium price tags. None of them hold a candle to Origami in terms of value. The menu here is extensive, so it will be easy to find something for everyone in your party. The rolls are pretty standard, but all are good. Their nigiri in particular stands out for being excellent yet being almost half the price of some of the other more hyped sushi locations in the city. Their cocktails are great as well.

Had a great time here, ordered the chirashi and it was so delicious and a large portion, a total steal. Sat and the bar and had a great conversation with Matt, he’s the best! Will definitely be back!

Lovely staff with delicious sushi and great specials! I loved the popcorn shrimp and their rolls were well portioned. We enjoyed the shaded porch.

Nara Wood Blood Orange had me at hi… Origami Japanese Restaurant is a fantastic spot tucked into the Ferret Street corridor. Dishes abound with favorites and original combinations. Do not roll out without trying the signature cocktails or chop to it and stick to the soups and veggie options.

I have been a passionate connoisseur of Japanese food for over 20 years. Origami is a fusion of westernized Japanese cuisine that does not sacrifice too much of the authentic flavors and brings quality ingredients and generous portions. Take a look at some of my photos - the slices of fish are nice and thick and not overwhelmed by filler. Other things that we tried such as karaage and cucumber namasu were also really flavorful and well executed.

Great sushi and atmosphere with waiters and chefs working hard to make your experience the best it can be. Great tables for a relaxing meal and sushi bar for getting food quick. Very beautiful food and great tasting as well.

Great specials here. Fresh fish you won't find most places. They have actual Wasabi! Friendly chefs with great presentations.

I love its sushi and chicken. The chicken was so big that when the sushi came out I couldn't finish it. I would recommend it.

Oysters are in season and we enjoyed the raw oysters today on the beautiful plate in the picture! This is by far the best sushi in New Orleans! They have the freshest sashimi and everything is presented beautifully! The staff is very kind yet unobtrusive so you can enjoy your meal in pure serenity.

Seafood Nabeyaki Udon is excellent. Caviar Scallops only "so so." Russian waitress Elena is quite nice, lovely. I thought she was German but I was wrong. Lol!

My go to favorite is their beef udom noodles but have great sushi, dumplings, and a stuffed shitaki mushroom.

Came here with some friends and was amazed at how good the sushi was. Food took a little long to come out but it was absolutely worth the wait.

This is the best Sushi in town, I can't even tell you how amazing this place is. A friend took me here for dinner a while back and I was just blown away. Carter was our server, he is too good, very attentive and proffesional. I will definetly be back.

We stopped by Origami after a long walk from the Adler Hotel to the Newcomb Art Museum and back. Their lunch menu offers some excellent, inexpensive choices and we decided on the 3 Sushi Rolls for $11.95 combo; our choices being the Spicy Tuna Roll, the Snow Crab Roll and the Avocado Roll. Along with the rolls, you also get a small salad with carrot ginger dressing (my guess) miso soup, and rice. For lunch, this is definitely enough food for two people. Our server, Khoung, was efficient and did a great job answering our questions.The Snow Crab roll was my favorite of the three, and while the Spicy Tuna Roll was definitely spicy to my wimpy palate, it wasn't too much spice. I thought the small patio that looks out over Freret Street was charming and would definitely love to sit there on my next visit.

This was my second time here and I gotta say, I’m not disappointed at all.

My previous time here, my date and I split the Burning Woman roll, a salmon roll, and had the shrimp shumai. Everything was wonderful.

This visit, my partner and I split the Origami Roll, which is topped with fried banana and honey, a rock n’ roll, and the wasabi (pork) shumai.

Y’all. It was delicious!

The food here is fantastic. The presentation is excellent, and the service very good.

I went to origami for lunch today and it was a amazing experience. It’s a great location and a awesome vibe. One of the owners actually came and hung out with us for wile. We tried almost every appetizer on the list, and 5 stars on them all. The popcorn shrimp and the yellowfin collar were both amazing. I had the best roll I’ve ever tried, called the Godzilla roll . I highly recommend this establishment if your looking for the best sushi in town.

Always a good time here! The service is top notch and the sushi is made quickly! I take a lot of clients here and they never disappoint!
