We had the meatball.sub and Italian beef (w/ hot peppers) sandwiches. Both were delicious. Hot peppers had nice heat. We also got some pasta salad to go

Counter service was very friendly.

Your local sandwich shop. Reasonably priced, friendly, and delicious. In America, places like this are becoming rare. It's worth cherishing.

I like the Berto's sub with hot giardiniera. I wish there was a bacon option, or something crunchy for texture contrast, for the tuna sub.

Grabbed lunch here the other day - I had the meatball sandwich, Italian Wedding soup AND tried Justin's Chili. All fantastic - best meatball sandwich around, hands down. Cooked and seasoned perfectly (not too much garlic like many places do), delicious sauce. Justin and Vickie were friendly, welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. Very cozy, clean place and overall it was an awesome experience!!

There was no hesitation when I asked for a meat substitution. Service was fast at noon. Pricing was incredible! Lunch under $12.

My favorite is the Mustang and our kids love the Saint Mary Sub. They have the freshest subs around and their frozen meals are awesome for busy weeks. If you haven’t already, go here!

This place is a hidden gem! Sandwiches made to order with high quality ingredients. Pasta salads are very good (bowtie is my favorite) and their made fresh in-house giardiniera salad can be eaten by itself. Best of all? Customer service. Very nice people who enjoy their job work here and it shows in how they present themselves with the public. They've been around for longer than the 25 years I've lived in Downers Grove and there is a clear reason why.

Berto's is a neighborhood Italian deli and pasta shop right in the heart of Downers Grove on Main Street. They have daily lunch specials Monday through Friday. (My favorite is the freshly-made lasagna.) They sell both fresh and frozen pastas, as well as various cheeses, salads, sandwiches, and other specialties. The small dining area is cozy for family or small groups to meet. Phone ahead, and your order will be ready for pickup, but you will probably add something more to your order like I usually do. It is difficult not to add freshly-made mozzarella or artichoke salad to my order.

All food here is fantastic, including the pre-made meals in the freezer.

My husband and I love this deli, have been frequenting for years, it was even what I wanted as my first meal after giving birth. We decided to cater for our son's baptism and the food was amazing! Our guests loved the tray of sandwiches, tortellini and baked mostaccioli, there were no left overs. The family that owns this deli is always so sweet and even helped us load the order into the car, we will always love and support this business.

We had our event with some real estate agents and the first thing they said was that the Food was excellent. I really wanted to take some home lol but since I bought It for the event, I left it for the agents. I feel bad the Naperville Municipal candidates had to come and leave quick because the food smelled so good LOL

Amazing place, I love their meatballs. They even have subs that represent the local schools.

Best Italian sandwiches around! The prosciutto sub is my absolute favorite. Usually my wife and I don’t eat the entire night or morning before we go there and then we eat an 18” sub each!!! They are that good! Also there meatballs are phenomenal.

Best sandwich shop in Downers Grove, maybe all of the Chicago area! I grew up in DG and live in Colorado now. When I come back, I always make a few stops here in the shop. Amazing food and nice business
