I’ve been meaning to try this place out for a while. Outside doesn’t look like much and the inside gives an old fashioned, rustic vibe. Ordered Tim’s Famous Hot Wings and a bowl of their Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya. The jambalaya was a Cajun style jambalaya as it wasn’t tomato based so it had the lighter color than the Creole style reddish tomato based jambalaya. It came out nice and hot. I’m a firm believer of salting during the cooking process, but the dish was borderline threshold of being too salty. The flavor was there though and was on par with what you would find in New Orleans. Just be sure to taste your food before adding additional salt. The hot wings are smoked and then flash fried to give it a bit of crispiness. They came out steaming hot. They overcooked the fry process a little too much as the wings were a little dry. The flavor however was enough to overlook the overcooked chicken. Great smoky flavor and seasoned very well. The heat level of the spiciness was not really very hot and was pretty much Louisiana hot sauce levels, but the chicken was delicious nonetheless. Additional points go to the excellent service from the staff, who were attentive and personable. I’ll definitely be back.

Awesome, Awesome , Awesome!

Great place for friends and families, great restaurant and bar atmosphere!

Their Rabbit stew is out of this world like Grandma used to make over rice.

Their crawdads are delicious and well seasoned, I wish I would've ate twice as much as I did

The oysters are great sized and priced where everyone can enjoy them.

They make a killer long island tea (tell em light on the sweet and sour)

They also have a food truck for catering and events!

Thanks to Tim the owner for coming to check in with us and everyone else that was eating and drinking.

Definitely will be back!

5 stars

It may not look like much, but the food is so amazing that I really felt like I was back in Louisiana.

The Gator Bites were fried to perfection. The jambalaya was better than I've had since leaving Nola, and the bread pudding with butter rum sauce could change a person's religion. And the fried oyster Po'boy made even me like fried oysters.

Cannot crow how often I'm going to be going back here.

Tim's Cajun Kitchen is hands down my favorite restaurant in the Huntsville area. When it comes to Cajun cuisine, it ranks among the best I've ever experienced. During a recent dinner visit, I indulged in the Dinner Platter (3 options) with seafood gumbo, seafood jambalaya, fried okra, and the irresistible bread pudding. The food was not only delicious but incredibly comforting, making it a challenge to put my utensils down. Our waitress embodied the true spirit of Southern hospitality, enhancing the overall dining experience. If you have any fondness for Cajun cuisine, this spot is an absolute must-visit. And trust me, the bread pudding is nothing short of exceptional—it's easily one of the best desserts I've ever had and the ultimate bread pudding treat. Just reminiscing about this place has me craving their food all over again.

They are never busy when I go eat there and I honestly don't understand why. The food is incredible. The staff is friendly. The prices are perfectly fine for what you get. I usually do the jambalaya and it has some of the best smokiest flavored smoked sausage in it I've ever had.

The ambiance reminded me of an old school 80's pub.
Food was pretty good. Red beans and rice, jambalaya, and gumbo were all comparable to what you'd get in most places in NOLA. The sides (squash casserole & green bean casserole) were also good.
Oddly enough the real standout was the dinner roll. Light, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. Not so much butter & garlic to overpower the natural sweetness of the bread.
Service was quick and efficient. I was seated within a minute, food was delivered in 5, and my iced tea never reached empty.

I've been going off and on for years and it just keeps getting better and better. Tracy was awesome, the atmosphere is great, kid friendly (there's a separate room located next to the patio that the kids and parents can hear the band) the food is great, smoker friendly patio, full bar, great live entertainment. 5 stars all around!

First time I visit Tim’s Cajun kitchen and I have no complaints. Great customer service, nice atmosphere and awesome food. All of us were satisfied. Our nephew ordered the gator po’boy and he had it before in another place, he said this one from Tim’s was more flavorful. The gumbo sausages had that smoky flavor in it. Everything was perfectly seasoned!!! I will definitely go back!

Came here while in town for work, and I’m so glad we did. Everything I had was amazing. The worst part about coming here will be deciding what you want because everything on the menu sounds great.

I had the combo platter with Seafood Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, Red Beans and Rice, Potato Salad, and Bread Pudding (sorry no pic of the Bread Pudding).

I don’t see how you could go wrong with any of the choices on the combo platter and it’s great to be able to try several different flavors. The bread pudding is definitely a side that you should try.

The service was a little slow as there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant the night we were there, but our server was great and made the most of our visit. She took time to answer questions on the menu and kept us laughing throughout the visit despite clearly being very busy. As I was there with work friends, we didn’t mind the wait at all and it just gave us time to visit with each other.

Definitely give this place a try.

Ate here for an early dinner on a weekday, so it wasn't crowded at all. The server was prompt and courteous. The food was very tasty! I ordered the fried catfish, and it was exceptionally good. Their slaw is very good, and I loved the seasoned roll. It's an old building, a former Pizza Hut, so it's seen some wear; but it was clean and very "cajunny". Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Come for the food if nothing else- it's incredible! I haven't had a chance to visit since a teen but the food is still DELICIOUS. Even my daughters who are picky eaters sang praises between smacking on their burgers and po'boy. If you love HEAT get the smoked wings- HAVE MERCY! They're so good and get spicier with every bite. Service was great and food was cooked and served timely. The lights are a bit dim, great for date night but not so much with children. I will definitely go back.

Best gumbo in town! Your Maw-Maw's gumbo is trash compared to this!! And the rolls are something you will keep a secret so you have more when you come in for gumbo!

This was my second time at Tim's and I have never been disappointed. This time I was there for lunch and got the crawfish etouffee, which came with 2 sides. So I got the Cajun corn and bread pudding. The food was amazing and the portions were a good size. The service was great and my server was prompt and friendly.

Ordered 60lbs of live crawfish from these guys for a boil at home! They did an awesome job at making sure I got my order on the day I needed it and the crawfish were GREAT quality. The people here are the nicest also. Great pricing compared to some other local businesses I called.

Came in today, was greeted promptly by Melissa, and sat at the bar to do some work. Got a Purple Haze and the Gator Burger - Both were exactly what the Dr. ordered. Beer was ice cold. Melissa helped me navigate the menu. The burger was juicy, pefectly seasoned, and came with a great cajun sauce (I got extra for the onion rings.)

This is probably my 20th visit spread over 12 years and I've never had a bad meal. Service was excellent. The people are genuine. It's no surprise that they've been open for decades.

My only complaint is the receipts from their POS system are too skinny ;)

This is the spot for authentic, home-cooked cajun food! I tried three three combo sampler and got the crawfish etouffe, seafood jambalaya, red beans and rice, green bean casserol and cajun fries. Everything wasbdelicious and I couldn't have made it better myself! So flavorful and the seafood was fresh. The bread pudding in rum sauce was an excellent end to the meal. Don't miss this delicious spot! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It felt like a meal at home.

If you're up for spicy, the jambalaya looks terrible but tastes amazing. If you're not, the gumbo looks terrible but tastes amazing. If you're not sure, they'll blend the 2 together if you ask. Not sure what else is on the menu. Great service.
