This is a place where the food truly shines. Good ole New Orleans style Cajun served out of a gas station! I had the etoufee, a shrimp po boy, and a chicken quarter and it was some of the best I have had and the best you can get in Huntsville. The service was good and friendly! The atmosphere is a literal gas station but to me that only makes the experience better! Highly recommend and I already cannot wait to eat there again!

I am generally not one to eat at gas stations. I have nothing against them, it is just that they aren't part of my normal pattern for eating. New Orleans Lunchbox is the only one to get into my lunch rotation list. And I am told everything is good there, but I have never gotten past the Jambalaya. The first time I went I bought a quart because I was in a hurry and have never gotten past it on the menu because it is so good. It is thick with a variety of meats and some heat that gives it a little kick without any tears or need for buttermilk to sooth the burn. These people make a tasty mix for Jambalaya. It is at Holmes and Jordan which is easy access from Redstone or Research park and they do have some seating, but I always get mine to go and eat it on teleconferences. Great stuff. Great people. Definitely worth the stop.

Melt in your mouth Brisket, whole cuts, smoked over 17 hours. Another one of those places you love to find out about. My co worker had enthused about this place for months, I finally made it out here. He was right.

I’ve had the shrimp poboy at least 10 times. The shrimp is always breaded and cooked to perfection, and they load the sandwich up to the point that I wonder if they make any money off of it. The poboy bread is soft and flaky like you would expect a Cajun restaurant to have. I’m always satisfied when I leave. 10/10!

This is the best kept secret in Huntsville! The restaurant is inside a gas station, there are tables and chairs and plenty of space to enjoy your meal. The food is Cajun and quite delicious. The Scruffy Special has fries, shrimp poboy and gumbo.

What a fantastic hidden gem tucked away inside the gas station on the corner. Easily some of the best ‘Nawlins cuisine in the city. Gumbo, etoufee, jumbalaya, red beans and rice all were killer. Will be back with a bigger crowd and appetite.

A very good little restaurant hidden inside a mini-market that offers standard Cajun dishes. Daily lunch specials and carry-out orders available "by the pound." Very nice staff that enjoys their customers.

Excellent pork barbecue, potato salad and coleslaw! I found this place by doing a search for a muffaletta sandwich. Glad I went but they don't have muffalettas.

Proof, yet again, that the food served in southern gas stations is better than most restaurants up north!
Man... Good stuff!

Met a friend here for lunch today. I've had their shrimp po-boy before and it was excellent. Today I tried the sampler plate and my friend had the red beans, we both topped it off with bread pudding - everything was excellent! Staff are all courteous and friendly. I'll have to go back to try the brisket and sausage.

I went in for lunch today and ordered the pork plate lunch deal. My order was for pulled pork, chicken jambalaya, and the red beans and rice, with a few pieces of garlic bread. Everything was delicious and for a fair price of slightly under $10. The restaurant is inside a gas station, but don’t let that discourage you. The place is very clean and the customer service was great! I will definitely be back to try some other things from the menu. So if your coming through Huntsville, Alabama and you get a craving for some authentic New Orleans style food, make sure to give this place a try!!

This place is a hidden gem.

It's run by a bunch of folks from NOLA. The main draws are authentic po boys, jambalaya, gumbo, etc... PLUS some things you wouldn't expect. They have a bunch of awards for their wings. They have an EXCELLENT pit master out back that makes some of the best brisket you'll find just about anywhere (especially in the Huntsville-Decatur area. I'm looking at YOU, Big Bob Gibson). They even have southern influenced fusion items like the hillbilly burrito, which sport bbq and so many other things that I can't even describe it. The bread pudding is an out of body experience as well.

Don't let the fact that this place is inside of a gas station, or the fact that the seating is just sort of out in the open inside the store scare you away. I was weary of this place too, until my friends took me here. It's fantastic, and considerably better than the other cajun options around town.

First let me say, it is inside a gas station. I drove by it the first time I went. This place looks unassuming and maybe underwhelming, but the food is excellent. The etouffee is rich and a bit spicy. The catfish po'boy is huge and well seasoned. It's basically a catfish sandwich AND a serving of catfish. The barbeque is the most flavorful we've had since moving to Huntsville. The sides are delicious. But the REAL star of the show is their "Fire in the Hole" sauce. It's spicy but it has this quick wave of sweetness. It's weird and delicious. I have put it on everything except the Mac & cheese and it's been great. If you like hot sauces, I highly recommend trying it. If you don't, you should still come and eat lunch here. It's delicious.

Been in a couple of times but what I really miss is when they would show up at our building and set up for lunch! Nothing better than having to go down the hall and get a plate of done amazing BBQ! If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go see these guys! Highly recommend their crawdads and slow boil type dishes when in season!
