Don Allen Excavating

Met Don about 14 years ago on a recommendation from Waller Brothers. He and his son have done much work for us ever since. They do a great job and respond quickly. We have also bought a lot of wood from the, again, great service!

Don did a great job putting in our septic after a very wet winter. Works great, wouldn't even know there was work done as the lawn wasn't chewed up. They laid down grass seed as well, which was a nice surprise. In the past, Don also graded our laneway and made it much better to drive over! Finally, we have gotten wood from him a few times and it was always seasoned and a good price. Definitely call him when you need any of these services! Be forewarned - if you are not from around here and are not familiar with the pace of things, don't get bent out of shape if you don't get an immediate callback. The weather and how many jobs are in the queue often dictate when he returns calls - so be patient.

I have been a customer of Don for the past few years. Don and his son delivers our firewood and paves our driveway. The firewood is always seasoned, they have great service and never missed a scheduled delivery or job. This family owned business is a great asset to this region.

Dave Allen is professional and personable. He provided a delivery of hardwood last fall that was well seasoned and a good mix of wood species. Today, he cleared storm damaged trees and cut logs for next year’s firewood. I very much recommend Dave!

Don and son, Dade, did EXCELLENT work installing my septic system. They came fully prepared for the job with all the equipment necessary for this huge task. They were masters of their machines, were quick yet meticulous throughout the installation process and came every day until the job was complete. They were pleasant to deal with and it was a treat watching them work. If it were available I would give them a sixth star.

Very experienced great work

Arranged a wood delivery for a Sunday and drove 3 hours Sunday morning so I could stack it before driving 3 hours back early the next morning. The night before we talked and I told him I might not be there when they arrive but to dump in my driveway. He asked where and I told him. Mid-day Sunday I arrive and no wood. I call and leave a message. He returns my call at 7pm and tells me they didn't deliver the wood because I said I wouldn't be there. I ask why he didn't tell me that the night before when we discussed the arrangement and he had no real response. Then he tells me that he has lots of customers, so I can go to Mountain Valley for my firewood. Nice guy.
