Cool little maple syrup store. The place is completely unmanned, and is on the honor system. You make your own change, or use a credit card slip that you slide in the safe.

Good prices for maple syrup, and great taste! I haven't tried the bourbon maple syrup, but in the past I haven't liked those from other places. So I just stick with the regular maple syrup.

5 starts for a wonderful quaint store set by the side of the road. From the reviews it looks like their honor system - pick up, add the prices, pay, take your own change - was miles ahead of the social distancing era we are living in now.

The options were better organized than many supermarkets.

Love it! Very small but great variety, as I am from the Caribbean, I was very surprised with the different flavors that they produce.

Black Rooster Maple represents a "heart and soul" business that exemplifies the Adirondack Region spirit. A simple product sold in a small rustic shop, and given the current Covid-conditions...showing a trust in humanity not easily found in downstate NY. The product? Some of the BEST tasting maple syrup anywhere and in a variety of forms. Maple syrup coffee, sweetener, candy and more. Need a souvenir? After you gas up at Stewart's just pull over at the maple syrup shack down the road about 50 yards and enjoy.

We stopped by this store on our way back from ADK to Westchester (RT-73) to buy maple syrup from a small producer and we were quietly surprised by the varieties. Whiskey barrel aged maple syrup was awesome - I can drink a whole jug of that. :) I will definitely recommend to give this a try. Don’t be surprised if no one is in the store- it works on honor system and they do accept cash, credit cards and checks.

We always stop here when going to Lake Placid it. It is the best syrup in the states!

I've been travel through that area for years and have always been interested in stopping in. Today was that day!
Expecting to see someone in little store but nope, it's based on the honored system. Bought a half gallon of the maple syrup and made pancakes this morning.
Amazing fresh clean flavor!! New York definitely beats Vermont maple syrup.

This place is amazing. We came upon a cute little store with such a variety. We bought maple syrup, cream and the item we came for, candy. They were making fresh syrup in the back and it smelled so delicious.

I first had their syrup in my maple latte at Old Mountain Coffee, and now we’re hooked! I love that we can order online in between trips to Keene Valley. Makes the best gift, also. Best syrup, hands down.

Homemade cotton candy. So fluffy and sweet. Self checkout is so convenient.

Had some breakfast in Lake Placid NY, and loved the syrup. Found out from the waitress is was Black Rooster Maple, turn around and bought some then headed on our way. This stuff is the best!

Really good syrup. I sample lots and this one is great. They sell it in glass canning jars, along with the usual plastic. The payment system is neat and easy. Definitely worth a stop.

Just down the hill from where my girlfriend grew up, and now the location of our vacation home. We drove by many times and finally stopped in, this trip! Amazing maple syrup! Really really good! SO glad we stopped and picked up a ton of different syrups!!

Such a gem! Whenever I'm in the area, I stop by. Great maple syrup and related products. I usually get several small bottles to give as gifts when I go home to California...they're perfect for those who think NY is just about 'the city'. Definitely stop and buy 😉!

Quite interesting setup…basically honor system is used to purchase the products as nobody was in the building. I got the apple brandy barrel aged maple syrup. SOOOOOOOO good!!! Would absolutely buy again!

I've never been to this establishment but during a camping trip to Lake Placid 2 years ago, my friends and I happened along a town fair with BRM hosting a booth. We bought some 16oz containers and enjoyed it so much I have their product shipped to me via their convenient website everytime I run out. A cut above the rest, I really enjoy this maple syrup.

Great maple syrup! Always pick extra up for friends and family, people love getting it as a gift. Prices are very fair for pure, local maple syrup.
