Mine Shaft & Rock House

Very surprised how much we liked the pizza! Ordered a 16” thin crust, veggie pizza, and added ham and fresh mozzarella cheese. The pizza was at least 20”, full of toppings, crispy crust, perfect pizza sauce. We were stuffed, puffed, and had to take home half of the 16” pizza. For two of us, the 10” pizza would have been plenty. With the additional toppings, pizza came to $27. Best pizza we’ve had in Houghton! (And we are pizza snobs)

Came in with the boys and my fiance, the rockhpuse did not disappoint in The slightest with large portions, hearty selection and mouth smacking flavor from meal to meal. Pack and to go if you must but you are missing out on the dine-in experience of the mineshaft combo featuring several fun arcade like games and a bowling alley to rack up points after stuffing your faces at the rockhouse.

Amazing food, huge portions, and reasonably priced! I don't like that the only entrance is shared with The Mine Shaft so if you're bringing kids it's like walking into a casino with flashing lights and prize area.

We had a large group at the Rock House and Casana didn't miss a beat, great food and great service

Our server, Cayley seemed to be new bit did an excellent job! The food was all delicious!

Loved the local distilled whiskies they had to offer for a whisky flight. The fish and chips were quite good. If anything, the batter could use a bit more flavor but cooked properly and super tender, and the tarter sauce was good as well. I doubt the tarter sauce is made here, but it's good for the fish pallet. My wife's steak came out fat, happy, and THICK. She loved it. Mom in-law got sweet potato fries and the same fish I did and she agrees the batter could have used some more flavor and she has a milk allergy so she couldn't participate in the tarter sauce (she believes it most likely had milk in some form in it and I personally wouldn't doubt it either). Awesome service, comfy seating in our booth, atmosphere was saloon-esk with the copper country flare thrown in, of course.

Our waitress, second day on the job was "green". I didn't mind the fact of asking for a small take out box a few times. What I did mind was when a large hot pizza pan was set right in front of 2 young girls in place of their plates, it could have been disaster. Luckily that didn't happen after we immediately spoke up. Common sense was lacking, I don't think she even realized what she did! Which is why I think training should be mandatory for newbies, otherwise someone may get hurt.
One a good note the food was plentiful and tasty.

First restaurant up here and it was a great experience. Food was great and service was nice. Seems like a great place to go, and prices weren't absurd. Definitely recommended.

Amaizing! Not saying that I wasn't expecting good food, but I was thrilled with how amaizing everything was. Everything was made to perfection! Delicious! Hope to come back sometime soon.

Awesome pizza! The best we've had in the Copper Country.

We stopped on 5/19 to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was great. I was able to sneak a candle to her and she brought it out in our dessert. Food was good and the arcade was fun

Lots of fun for our large family. We paid for the lanes by the hour 2 hours, 2 lanes, 12 people, still less than taking everyone to the movies.

There are plenty of food options to have delivered to your lanes. The pizza crust is chewy and overall yummy. Good service. They came to check on us.

Yes. Very tasty food! They have a wide array of menu items. I always enjoy this place. Once you’re done eating you can bowl, or play arcade games. My children have had several birthday parties at the adjoining “Mineshaft,” bowling alley/arcade. Kids love this place. Friendly staff. Very good food! Compliments to the chef!! 🤩

Great time, food was good. Service was quick and the waitress was friendly. It was Saturday, so we opted to do some good bowling for an hour. Kyle at the front desk was more than helpful on setting us up. The rest of the staff was outgoing and friendly as well. Good experience and environment. Great for kids and adults. If you're from outta town, must check it out in down time.

Needed a meal at 9:10 pm after long day on road. Stayed at hotel next door. Was incredibly surprised at the "made from scratch" veggie pizza and dinner salad with home made dressing and awesome fresh veggies. Total quality meal at place I would not have expected.

Our thin crust and hand tossed specialty pizzas were delicious. We had great service. And the dining/bar area and bathrooms were very clean. We would definitely eat at the Rock House Grill & Tavern again.
