10/10 MUST try! Everything from start to finish was perfect. We came at 11:40am, no wait time and had the lunch. We started with the Fried Gouda for our appetizer and the FLAVORS were amazing with the two dipping sauces. We followed with chicken fried steak with ranch tots and the BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese. We kept the sauces from the appetizer and it was perfect. EVERYTHING has such a good flavor down to the rosemary on the fries. We finished with peach cobbler (they were out of blackberry). For the experience, price was VERY reasonable!

The menus change depending on the time so we WILL be returning to try the dinner and breakfast as well. I took pictures of those menus as well. Regardless of who was wearing what the service was AMAZING from the hostess to the waitress. The music was perfect and relaxing and they do have live music depending on the time.

Breakfast 7-10am

Lunch 10-5pm, 10-4pm Sunday’s (we saw both casual and Sunday dresses customers)

Dinner 5-10pm, 4-8 Sundays (more of a fancy attire or more dressy not very casual, slightly higher prices)

Excellent breakfast! My wife had the Eggs Bernadette and I had the Texas Skillet Scramble. It looks small, but they pack a lot in that little Skillet. Great coffee also. The 4 stars for atmosphere was having the train go by excessively while dining outside. Even so, it was the way to go on a sunny but cool morning.

I really enjoyed Red Board Tavern! I stopped in for lunch following a round of golf.

I hadn’t heard anything about it before so I thought I’d give it a try. The atmosphere is nice, initially felt slightly upscale but quickly got more comfortable. They have a nice bar area and dining area. Service was quick. The menu is simple, I really dislike large menus so that was nice. Everything sounded and looked really good. I went with the Reuben and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. The fries are homemade from what I can tell and were great. My son had the burger and gave it two thumbs up.

I’ll definitely be returning!

We've dined here on three occasions and every time the experience has been excellent. The food is top notch, the cocktail list creative, and the pianist sublime.

First time here for me and second time for my parents. Absolutely delicious and my parents agreed the first time they came was just as good. A very relaxing semi-formal environment and excellent food choices definitely made the drive worth it. Service was also excellent, kind waiters and didn’t have to wait long for our food.

It has been a while since I have eaten at a restaurant and was completely satisfied with the food. So glad we gave this place a try as I am still think about my meal hours later!

The atmosphere, staff & cleanliness were excellent. Pricing was spot on.

Based on the previous reviews of other customers, they either loved it or slammed it with 1 or 2 stars. Makes me think it is maybe a personnel issue with the shift waiters and chef.

We started with a special request of Foix gras. It was perfect. Deviled eggs were delicious and spicy. The quail poppers were a repeat favorite if you like spicy. Finished with cobbler and a brownie a la mode, which made my 18 year old happy. I can highly recommend this place. Give it a try.

We decided to try the Red Board Tavern because we heard about its chef, Chef J. Payton. It some bigger towns we have been in it was common to hear about a new top chef coming to town of you were into that kind of thing and read the restaurant rags. Since moving to College STATION there is no inside scoop. So we were surprised to hear about this chef and in all places Navasota. So we made a reservation and headed out. It turned out to be a rainy miserable night and there was a parade that evening. All this was a rather negative foreboding. However, we were greeted warmly they took our wet putter clothing and apologized even for the weather and thanked us for braving it and the traffic. The food was fantastic and deserves much more detail but phone died after the first picture so darn we are going to have to visit there again. The chef even visited the table to check on food and service. In general terms each dish was composed of delicate bit complex flavors with an amazing depth. I had the cioppino. The broth was deep and rich the seafood was tender and fresh. All too often the seafood tastes like it has been simmering for hours and gets tough but this was definitely constructed to order. My first impression is that if you intend to try it you should do it soon because I am sure prices will be going up. Compared to some offerings in college station this is higher quality and at a deep value to a restaurant like Christopher’s.

I am going to do a follow up review. I will have more pictures and details but I want to get the word out.

Wow! Such a wonderful space with incredible food. The bar area is gorgeous. We had the pulled pork grilled cheese, grilled chicken salad, peppers and chicharones, cheeseburger, and deviled eggs. Best deviled eggs we've ever had. The pulled pork grilled cheese was the table's unanimous favorite food. The kitchen area is open to full view and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We can't wait to return!

we met some friends here.for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The menu was interesting... something for everyone. We had the triple play deviled eggs for an appetizer and they were fabulous. The wine list was good and the waiter allowed us to try several before making our selection. My husband said the steak was the. best he had had in years. I had Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly. We finished with the creme brulee ... yum. Everything was delicious and we look forward to going back soon.

Great food and service. We got there right at open. We got great seats by the window. It was a spacious restaurant and the food was amazing. This might be our new breakfast spot.

We heard about a new special bar in Navasota we drove from Spring on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we were not des appointed Grimm the bartender was Awsome & recommend to go to their speakeasy next door at hotel. This is a true gem. Comfortable bistro with great ambiance, service, and a fresh, flavorful, and creative menu. If you’re there for dinner try his chili!

Delicious food, and our waitress was outstanding.

We started with the Triple Play Deviled Eggs. AMAZING!

Followed up with the Bacon Bacon Bacon Lettuce And Tomato, which we split. Paired that with the chili tater tots. Both were really delicious.

Finished with blackberry cobbler. Be sure you leave room for this - so worth it!!

Only flaw - tots and eggs were a bit on the salty side.

The pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich was awesome. Which is high praise from me considering that I normally don’t care for pulled pork. It was recommended by our waitress who was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend this place.

The food was phenomenal, I loved the atmosphere as well. It is a very nice restaurant. The hostess was so so sweet. I felt our waitress was a little standoffish in my opinion. Besides that it was an amazing experience and we will definitely return.

Can’t believe this place is in Navasota of all places. Service was quick, food is amazing. They have real chefs out back cooking real food. It’s fresh, the bathrooms are clean, and the prices are half of what you find at similar places in bigger cities. Just do the hour drive from Houston or 30 minutes from College station. You won’t be disappointed.

This place was a total JOY. Beautiful atmosphere. Lovely service. Outstanding food! OMG the shishito pepper appetizer followed by the mozzarella and tomato salad. A lemon drop martini was the icing on the cake!

This is a true Navasota gem. Comfortable bistro with great ambiance, service, and a fresh, flavorful, and creative menu driven by Chef Craig Schmidt - as friendly as he is well-trained and talented. If you’re there for dinner try his chili!

I'm trying to catch up on reviews of great places, but I went here back in November and it was awesome. The food was absolutely amazing, it was probably the fanciest dining experience I've ever had. The drinks were also great, and our waiter was so attentive and professional. The atmosphere was so inviting and warm (it happened to be cold that night) and we really enjoyed our time. It's also next door to some historical buildings you can explore afterwards (one had a speakeasy). Definitely worth the drive from Houston or College Station!

We loved our time here. Food was quite wonderful, service was excellent, and drinks/music took it all to the next level.

However what really made this experience and trip was Jacob the Manager.

He’s got a masterful leadership among his coworkers - piping in to help however he can, a true heart for the industry, and just professionalism that takes this Dining experience to near Michelin star level. Can’t wait to attend the speakeasy and dining room again. True 10/10 service.
