The first impression of a Mexican restaurant, for me, are the chips and salsa. Usually, if that's good, the rest of the meal will be good. The chips were fresh, crunchy, and warm, and the salsa had the perfect amount of spice and seasoning. Nailed it! The rest of the meal was just as good. The carnitas were so crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth on the inside. The enchilada sauce was flavorful. And the chili relleno was authentic and perfect. Prices seemed inexpensive for the quality and quantity! The service was good too; they took our order, delivered our drinks and kept the chips and salsa coming, delivered our food, and checked on us periodically, all with a smile and friendly demeanor. Overall, a great experience!

This place is serving up some authentic Mexican food in Palm Springs. It’s away from downtown area so no long waits and great service. Their food really hit the spot. They also have very good beans and salsas which are a must for me when going to Mexican spots. 10/10 recommend this place!

I initially made a reservation for Tac/Quila but after doing more research online, realized that it was NOT the place downtown for authentic Mexican food. So I cancelled that reservation, and I do not regret it. Chips and salsa (free) were great, the large (and cheap) margaritas were delicious, the chimichanga was one of the best I’ve had (SoCal guy here), and service was attentive and friendly. A similar meal at the other place would’ve been $60 more. Earlier, I spoke with someone in town who asked where we were going for dinner and when we told them this place, they agreed this was THE Mexican food place to go, and that the other places in downtown are simply tourist traps for people who don’t know any better. So save your money and go where the locals go for real Mexican food downtown. You won’t be disappointed.

Very good and authentic. Inexpensive food, and tastes good. Lengua tacos are a must-try. Carne asada and chorizo tacos, very good. The decor is cool and the atmosphere is all that. The service is great, the food comes out in a timely manner. Honestly this place rocks. Give it a try!

Great authentic Mexican cuisine in Palm Springs! Believe the reviews. Food tastes great, good service, food came quickly, and parking is accessible.
They are located past all the busy and crowded places on the main strip, so you get to sit down right away and get served w/o the tourist crowds.
Loved the chile rellenos!

We ordered Combo Fajita. So delicious and filling for 2 people!

This place is a bit away from a tourists area. Thus, it's less crowded and great value for the price! I would definitely come again.
P.S. They also brought us complimentary chips & dips as soon as we were seated!

This is my type of Mexican restaurant. Delicious food, great staff, relaxed atmosphere and lots of booths.

The chavela (michelada) was delicious and my tacos de carnitas, enchiladas de pollo, and rice and beans were perfection.

Don’t skip this hidden gem

My wife and I had a pleasant visit here at this spot. The menu it’s excellent. The outside seating was perfect. The server was very friendly. Queso derretido with chorizo was a great shareable meal along with complementary chips and salsa. The steak burrito and horchata were phenomenal!

When they say not to judge a book by the cover. From the outside you would not give it much credit (the patio is in a parking lot, basically, just outside of the fancy strip). You get in, and everything changes. Friendly atmosphere, families, workers, and people who clearly know there is good food to be found. And so is the case. Two salsas (the green one is really hot), very good chips, a gigantic bottle of water, and delicious courses, generous portions, and what not. Friendly and attentive staff. Do go and give it a chance. You may pay half of any other Mexican restaurant around and actually get the real deal.
I'll come back for sure.

This is the real deal. Great food, comfortable seating, timely service, friendly staff. The sound of Spanish flowing through the air creates a great ambience. Warm and welcoming energy.

Outstanding local Mexican restaurant. All the food, from the queso, to the shrimp, tampiqueña, rice, and beans were so delicious I simply couldn't stop eating.

Margaritas are top-notch too. Service excellent, and the environment is comfortable and welcoming. 100% recommend.

Every menu item I've tried, has not disappointed. I can say that for a Mexican restaurant, the food is authentic, flavorful, and more affordable to similar dining establishments. Staff is super friendly! Just need some background music instead of a $$ jukebox.

Fantastic Mexican food in Palm Springs. Servings were huge and delicious. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Located at the end of the busy section of the strip which meant it wasnt as chaotic as some of the other restaurants, but the meal was one of the best during my stay in Palm Springs

A fantastic choice for Mexican comfort food, from a typical menu. Large interior, plenty of seating, clean and cozy. Excellent service. Delicious salsa. Tried a few different combination plates, both were very good - flavorful and not bland. Carnitas was delicious.

We heard about this restaurant from our Uber driver when we landed in town looking for a place the locals eat. She immediately mentioned this place and said it was one of the best in town. We made it in for lunch and it was not super packed. After looking at the menu for a minute we decided on fajitas, a birria taco, and horchata. First…the birria taco is not what one currently expects. It was a normal taco and not fried or with cheese. It had goat in the traditional manner but had a sweet flavor that we didn’t like. But…the fajitas….best fajitas I have had in my entire life and my companion agreed. The seasoning was dancing across our tongues. The shrimp and steak were perfectly cooked, I cannot express how awesome these were. The bar is now set and I am afraid I will have to come back to Palm Springs to even get close again. The rice and beans and guacamole were also top tier. And the horchata oh my. Sweet, cinnamon perfect combo and a huge glass of it. If you are in the area get a little out of the downtown area and stop here!!

Five star amazing! Especially if you live meat, Tlaquepaque has some of the best meat I’ve ever tasted not just in a Mexican restaurant, but anywhere. I don’t know what the secret is, but every kind of meat is absolutely magical— flavorful, super tender, just ridiculously good. Vegetarian options are kind of bland (a veggie burrito is basically just beans, tomato and lettuce), but hooooo boy the meat? Absolutely top tier. And the margs? Also amazing. Staff is incredibly friendly, chips and salsa are delish… ever since I’ve discovered this place, everyone other Mexican restaurant pales in comparison. A true gem.

Came here on the recommendations of the reception staff of the hotel we were staying to have some authentic Mexican food and we were not disappointed. Our server helped us in explaining and choosing the dishes.
