La Bahía Grill

This was a very different flavor, but in the best way. Around home, our mexican food mostly has a similar taste/feel. I was surprisingly shocked, but it was affordable and delicious. We will be back!

My family and I absolutely love this place. It's our favorite restaurant in town and we are frequent guests. The ambience is very pleasant, it's never been overcrowded when we've visited and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is fantastic! They offer different and unique authentic dishes than other Mexican restaurants. Their specialty is seafood and we've never been disappointed by a dish. They offer kids meals (we have 2 small children so this is a family friendly place as well). They offer daily specials and drink specials as well. Overall, we just love this place and highly recommend it!

If you have a fondness for both seafood and Mexican cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The shrimp tacos are simply delicious. For those unsure about protein choices, La Bahia is the perfect dish, offering a delightful combination of chicken, steak, and shrimp. La Bahia is not your typical Mexican restaurant… it’s better! They have great seafood as well as traditional Mexican cuisine. I love the namesake food of the restaurant and also the tilapia. I’m excited to try out more cuisine when I return.

Wonderful Mexican food. As long time former Phoenix residents, hubby and I have been looking for this kind of place since we moved to the area in 2021. Multiple really good salsa options. Very good chips. Delicious food. Had a margarita. It was huge and delicious. Perfect ratio of alcohol to ice to salt.

Try the shrimp tacos. Well worth the price!

The food is delicious and full of flavor. The drinks they serve are amazing and refreshing. Loved the decor as well. You can have an upscale experience here without spending too much. A must-go restaurant in the Urbana Champaign area!

Ordered delivery from La Bahía a couple of times and the food always arrives fresh and hot. Their meats are flavorful and the menu overall is quite extensive. They serve a few "unique" dishes here that you probably won't find in other Mexican restaurants around town. The Burrito Loco is very similar to a California Burrito (but I think it's online ordering only) and the Quesabirria with consomé is a must try.

My girlfriend and I tried La Bahia Grill for Valentine's Day and were very pleasantly surprised.

The service was great and the food was amazing! We were immediately served a big basket of chips, three types of salsa, and delicious seafood soup upon arriving. After deciding what we wanted to eat, I got the fried tilapia with Diabla sauce, and my wife got the enmoladas. Try the green spaghetti! It's surprisingly tasty! We finished dinner off with a delicious flan. Service was quick and prompt with refills on chips and drinks. Also, very reasonably priced! I will be coming back soon!

We just came from La Bahia...an excellent place for any meal and a great value. I ordered shrimp ceviche and they did not stint on the portion. It came with 3 crunchy tostada shells that held up well to the very refreshing ceviche. My son had the chapuzon plate with mussels, octopus, scallops, all in a wonderful buttery, spicy sauce with two soft baguette pieces to sip it up. My wife and I each had a Bahia plate with black beans, rice, and flour tortillas. Our server was friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Went for lunch, the atmosphere was great—not too busy, not too full. Our waitress was very attentive and kind, food was splendid (we got the vegetarian fried potato tacos, side of rice and green spaghetti—our waitress informed us that it’s generally a dish in Mexican cuisine that’s eaten during special occasions). Overall, had a great time, vegetarian friendly, and would definitely visit again! Highly recommend!

Great portion size, menu options, and service. Has great meat and seafood options. The sides are wholesome. The complimentary chips were warm and nice. Would visit again!

We had exceptional food and service at La Bahia Grill. Jeimy made our dining experience great, answering our questions and recommending some fantastic dishes. Atmosphere was very clean and relaxing. This is a great place for a fun night out in downtown Champaign. We can’t wait to come back! La Bahia Grill is definitely a new favorite.

This new Mexican restaurant is a gem! Chambana is blessed with several great Mexican eateries and we just gained another. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. They specialize in seafood dishes but the other stuff is tasty as well.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in town! The tamales were absolutely delicious and the best from any restaurant in town. Service was also very friendly!

Great little place. I had the chicken fajita lunch special. Everything was flavorful. The chicken was tender and juicy. The veggies were cooked just right with some grill marks. The beens and rice were good and the corn tortillas were steaming hot. The service was excellent. The prices are very reasonable for lunch.

Best fish tacos in town - our new favorite Mexican restaurant! Our picky tweens love the tacos and quesadillas and adults are into the sangria, fajitas and so much more!
We’ve had nothing but great experiences even on some of the busiest weekends of the year (graduation weekend for one!) and the staff and owners go above and beyond. Do yourself a favor and go to La Bahia!

Amazing food!! We’ve ordered take out, delivery and just recently tried dine in. Every experience has been fantastic except one small time the guac wasn’t very fresh, the fixed it no problem. Some of the best guac in town. Have corn tortillas available for all their dishes so easily makes it gluten free.
