Handel's Homemade Ice Cream South Ave

Best ice cream, anywhere, hands down! We grew up coming here when visiting my grandparents in Ohio, and the ice cream continues to delight. They have SO MANY good flavors! If you have a hard time deciding what to get, I highly recommend the 4-scoop sampler, so you can try four different flavors! This visit I tried the graham central station, pumpkin cheesecake, buckeye (peanut butter ice cream with buckeye pieces and fudge ripple), and salty caramel truffle. All good, but the graham central station is incredible. The graham pieces are tasty and provide a satisfying crunch. Love Handel's and can't wait for the next visit!

Love this ice cream. We were telling the employee at the window how we wished there was carmel in the chocolate pecan, and she gave us a cup of carmel to add in. That was so nice of her. Best creamy ice cream

Being from Colorado, I experienced Handels for the first time. The Ice Cream was delicious, the staff was friendly, and even though Handel's always seemed to have a crowd, I didn't have to wait long. Highly recommend Handel's over DQ or Coldstone.

Bought cherry ice cream and Cordial ice cream. Both were very good. I didn't share. LOL

From Columbiana to Youngstown, this is the best location. They have the nicest staff, they're willing to split your pint or small cone/dish between two flavors, and they always have the best variety. I can get the same flavor The banana cream pie ice cream is my favorite, with real bananas, marshmallow cream, and chunks of some kind of vanilla cookie/cake, makes it tastee like a frozen banana pudding. There's something about the quality, too. I can get the same flavor at another boardman location, and it doesn't taste as good. Keep doing what you do, South Ave! I'll keep coming back!

Wonderful ice cream! Creamy, huge scoops, friendly staff. A must try spot for ice cream. They even have a couple if sorbets for vegans/ people with dairy allergies.

With so many options you would be hard pressed to not find something that you would like. Go in the summer. Go in the winter. There's never a bad time.

Ice cream was great. I got banana in a waffle cone. Would have been even better but we had just eaten a big dinner.

First time at a Handels location for icecream. Sunday afternoon was beautiful, warm enough to have the top off the car. Had Jack with us since he is the little ice cream critic. Got a small hot fudge sunday that we all shared. This is a great location, easy in and out, friendly and helpful, fast service. Clean patio and pleasant environment. Sat on one of their benches and enjoyed our treat. Will stop here again.

I loved Handel's Ice Cream! The 'Red Skies at Night' flavor was amazing, and my dog loved the 'Dogster' treat. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend!

Great ice cream!!! Service was swift and courteous. Had a hard chocolate shake and my boy had a cotton candy sugar cone with sprinkles.....very satisfied customers ;)

Handel's is hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. They have so many flavors and they're made fresh daily at every location. A few of our family's favorite flavors are Grape, Chocoholic Chunk, Cake Batter and Graham Central Station. Check it out. You'll thank me later.

Always the best ice cream around. The sherbet has real fruit in it and the other flavors are always phenomenal. You just have to ignore the bill Cosby promotions and it's fine. Great for a hot day or any time and really great that you can get pints and quarts of your favorite flavors.

Disappointed they didn't have apple dumplings

It's Handel's ice cream, it's fresh and delicious and the flavors are unique. One of my favorites is key lime that has a crust in it. And coffee chocolate chip. You can't go wrong here.
